A lot of people mistakenly think impeachment is the act of removing the president.
Yeah, a lot of democrats are pretty stupid.
Gelston

It’s not, in fact it’s meaningless and trivial. Clinton got impeached because he got off on interns sucking his dick in the oval. It’s just a political tactic, “oh look everyone he got IMPEACHed!” gasps, who cares..
Which actually hurt the Republican Party's popularity numbers. Impeachment is a very stupid thing to do unless the Senate is definitely going to convict.

It's hilarious watching Androidpk turn on Assange like this. He spent years sucking Assange's dick and now he's more than willing to believe Assange worked with the Trump campaign to rig the election based on the flimsiest of evidence.
At this point I think Androidpk would sell out his own mother for a dime if he thought it would make Trump look bad.

So both Assange and Manafort have denied these meetings took place. In fact Wikileaks even points out that The Guardian changed their original headline within an hour to add "sources say", because before they made it sound like a fact. But once again the media is citing an anonymous source and once again the rabid far left dogs lap up the shit like it's candy.
Wikileaks is even looking to sue The Guardian for libel.

At first I was thinking The Hill was the one who originally reported the story and I was thinking "That figures, The Hill is like CNN in print form."
But then I realized it was The Guardian, a newspaper that was doing so badly and losing so much money they had to switch to a tabloid format to cut costs and are looking for any sensationalized story to bring about their former glory to their even-further-to-the-left-than-The-Hill's-readers readers.

Trump was so worried about committing perjury by answering questions that he demanded to be allowed to answer them in writing. Even then the dumbass likely perjured himself because Manafort was feeding him information (he wasn't given a gag order like Gates and others) and Mueller likely knew that was going to happen.

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told.
Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House.
It is unclear why Manafort would have wanted to see Assange and what was discussed. But the last apparent meeting is likely to come under scrutiny and could interest Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
A well-placed source has told the Guardian that Manafort went to see Assange around March 2016. Months later WikiLeaks released a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers.
Manafort, 69, denies involvement in the hack and says the claim is “100% false”. His lawyers declined to answer the Guardian’s questions about the visits.
So... back in 2013, Manafort knew Trump would not only run for President.. but win the nomination and win the election?
Parkbandit

Also, it looks like Manafort was a regular guest of Assange's (https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/27/politics/paul-manafort-julian-assange-meetings/index.html)
But no collusion here. I'm sure they were just catching up on the latest needlepoint patterns.

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump told special counsel Robert Mueller in writing that Roger Stone did not tell him about WikiLeaks, nor was he told about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his son, campaign officials and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
One source described the President's answers without providing any direct quotes and said the President made clear he was answering to the best of his recollection.
This is the first insight into how the President responded to the Mueller team's written questions -- a key unknown as Mueller aims to wrap up his investigation and prepare his final report.
These two points -- WikiLeaks and the Trump Tower meeting -- are critical to Mueller's central mission: investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russians during the 2016 campaign.
The President's lawyers previously told CNN the answers would match his public statements. Still, these written answers could be subject to criminal charges if false.
A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment. CNN did not get a full readout of all of the President's answers to Mueller's questions.

It would be great if they had some sort of evidence of collusion instead of relying on Trump supposedly lying to justify all of this shit.
Also perjury traps are a real thing, it's what Mueller got like half of the people for so far.
Catching people for "lying" to the FBI has got to be one of the dumbest things to exist. The government decides what is a lie and what isn't. Someone can answer the question "to the best of their knowledge" and yet the government still decides the person lied.
Do I want them to look the other way if someone lies? No. But I want some evidence that the person was lying in an attempt to pervert justice instead of the government deciding they have the power to read someone's mind. To investigate someone and finding NO CRIMES, then to turn around and say "Oh yeah, remember when you said you were at home watching TV on March 1st at 8PM? Turns out you stopped watching TV at 7PM and you were out for a walk at 8PM because one of your neighbors said so. Looks like I get to try you for perjury now!"

And don't pull an Androidpk and say "LOL! Now the Trumpettes are falling back on 'collusion isn't a crime'!"
Perjury traps are only perjury traps if you lie. If you tell the truth you have nothing to worry about.
No, this is what the left wing media has drilled into your head. When the government is both the entity that gets to charge you with a crime AND the one who decides what the truth is then it's very easy for the government to get you in a perjury trap.
Let's use the PC and Androidpk as an analogy. We all know what a piece of shit Androidpk is, right? But even pieces of shit deserve their day in court. Let's say the PC was the government with the power to charge Androidpk with a crime.
The PC investigates him for stealing from other people. The PC finds no actual evidence but questions Androidpk. Androidpk says on the day of the theft that he told his friend he was going to a baseball game. The PC interviews said friend who said he has no recollection of said conversation. The PC just decides the friend is telling the truth and Androidpk is a lying piece of a shit. The PC can now charge Androidpk with perjury because the PC decided Androidpk lied, even if Androidpk was 100% telling the truth (again remember this is an analogy and not based on reality) that he spoke to his friend about going to a baseball game, Androidpk now is charged with a crime and faces lawyer bills, a bad reputation, and the possibility of jail time.

As news broke Thursday morning that Deutsche Bank's German headquarters had been raided in Frankfurt over, numerous observers were quick to note the bank's deep ties to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The bank's offices were reportedly raided in connection with the Panama Papers money laundering investigation. Two employees and several "unidentified people in positions of authority" are suspected of failing to report the laundering of more than $350 million which were kept by the bank in accounts located in the British Virgin Islands.
According to NPR, more than 900 Deutsche Bank clients were able to keep their money on the islands in 2016.
In addition to its ongoing legal troubles, having been fined $600 million just last year for laundering $10 billion in Russian currency, Deutsche Bank has been known in recent years as "the one financial institution that stuck with Donald Trump when virtually all other banks wouldn't touch him," as John Feffer, director of Foreign Policy in Focus, wrote in Common Dreams in July.
As Trump's former top aide Steve Bannon said in early 2018, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Trump's campaign will largely deal with the president's finances with the bank.
The probe, he said "goes through Deutsche Bank and all the Kushner shit. They're going to go right through that."

Federal agents raided the City Hall office of powerful Chicago Ald. Ed Burke on Thursday morning, sources familiar with the development confirmed.
Agents arrived at the office early Thursday morning, told employees to leave and papered over the glass windows at the office’s entrance to conceal the investigation going on inside, a source confirmed. A woman who left the office and did not identify herself said FBI agents were inside.
Burke’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Burke’s ward office on the Southwest Side also had the same brown paper taped over its front door with three signs that read, “Office closed.” An officer sitting in a squad car parked behind Burke's ward office said a search warrant was being executed inside but offered no further details.

He can Pardon as many people as he'd like, but it's not going to change the fact that he has several State AGs and Federal investigatory bodies pouring through his finances and the finances of his businesses.
And, at this point, Mueller has publicly connected the dots for everyone. We know that Campaign associates (including his campaign manager) were in regular contact with Wikileaks while the email hacking and dumping was going on, we know that Trump had active business dealings with Russia during his campaign (and that Russian sanctions were threatening the project), we know that Campaign members (and his own personal attorney) were in regular contact with Russian government officials and intelligence operatives, and we know that Trump and his campaign lied repeatedly about all of these things.
And we know that Trump has been continually trying to obstruct justice from the start of (his knowledge of) the investigations.

And not to mention that there still is no evidence of Trump colluding with Russia.. which was supposed to be the reason we needed this “investigation” to begin with...

I don't think you understand the extent of this. These aren't "minor infractions"- these are felonies. Felony campaign finance law violations, conspiracy against the US, felony digital privacy/hacking law violations, etc.
The US Election was hacked- in multiple senses of the word- by a foreign enemy in cooperation with a US Presidential campaign, and a sitting US President did everything in his power to hide the attack and his campaign's involvement. This is the biggest Presidential scandal of modern US political history.
This case has already resulted in almost three times as many people being indicted than the Iran-Contra scandal, and it's not done. And Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in a felony campaign finance law case already. (Plus he's being sued by NY State for his gross abuse of his private foundation- remember when you all used to pretend like you cared about that?)
Just because you've heard people in Trump orbit repeatedly saying "This is taking too long/This has gone on forever" doesn't mean it's true. You need to stop falling for the rhetoric and look at what's actually going on in front of you. Mueller and his team are working their way up the chain- as you always do- unraveling what has turned out to be an incredibly complicated web of lies and- candidly- treason. (in the non-juridical sense)
And it's only been a year and a half. There's a lot more to come.

In fairness, they're also being fed lies and deception from media outlets they trust. Look at the people on these boards- how many times have they cited articles from what turned out to be fake news sites and then just kept going back to them anyway? How many times have we heard them say "CNN and Washington Post are nothing but liberal bias lies!" while going back to Daily Caller, Drudge Report, Fox News, etc- publications that are extremely biased and play fast and loose with the truth?
People don't come that way. They're made to be that way. Yes it's everyone's responsibility to make sure they're living in reality, but it's also not fair that the outlets and politicians they genuinely trust are constantly pulling the wool over their eyes.

From what I've read the JDA became null and void when Manafort made his plea deal with Mueller.

At some point you have to admit there is something there to this story. I was all aboard the skepticism train when Hillary mentioned this after the election, thinking it was just sour grapes. But the mountain of damning evidence that's come to light since then.. I'm not sure how anyone can still think Trump and his inner circle didn't break multiple federal laws to get elected.

I've been wondering a lot lately where exactly we are on the "I don't believe it" / "I don't care" spectrum.
Trump's strategy all along has been to normalize dangerous and criminal actions that aren't normal. There's a reason why Giuliani was sent out to tell everyone about the back door deal between Manafort and Trump's lawyers- his job was to get in front of the story and act casual. That's what the Trump camp has been doing from day one.
So I can't tell at this point how much of this is skepticism and how much of it is just indifference. I honestly would prefer skepticism- I don't know how you UN-normalize these kinds of blatant abuses of power and disregard for the law (and the well being of our country).

Yeah...whether he (and his band of clueless followers) realizes it or not- this is already over for him.
Anyone who thinks that this is all going to end with a big "No one did anything wrong, and this was all just a mountain out of a mole hill" is fooling themselves.
So is this it for real this time? Not like those other dozens of times you have said "this is it"?

Uh, no. Your failure or unwillingness to keep up with current events (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46378863) reflects entirely on you. Manafort, Stone and Corsi, on behalf of Trump, conspired with Russia with Wikileaks as an intermediary, to coordinate the release of the e-mails they hacked.
It's literally only a matter of time before more of this is demonstrated (or pleaded guilty to) in court. The president's personal lawyer for years just pleaded guilty to lying to Congress on behalf of Trump, demonstrating that Trump himself was lying -- especially to you, the retarded conservative rube willing to buy literally anything Trump says -- about his dealings with Russia, which also fit in to the DOZEN other members of his campaign that have been exposed as dealing with Russia.
The "Russian collusion" is already matter of public record. You are an imbecile.

Mr Trump’s plan for a skyscraper in Moscow dates as far back as 1996, when the future US president paid a visit to the Russian capital to check out building sites on land being developed by an American company.
He revived the idea in 2013 during a visit to Moscow as owner of the Miss Universe pageant, and reportedly scouted a potential site before the project again failed.
The tower idea came back yet again in October 2015, when Andrey Rozov, an obscure Russian property developer, signed a letter of intent sent by Mr Cohen to advance the construction of a Trump Tower featuring 250 luxury condos, no fewer than 15 floors of hotel rooms, commercial and office space, a fitness centre and an Ivanka Trump spa.
It would have been a lucrative deal for Trump‘s company, handing it $4m (£3.1m) in upfront fees plus potentially millions more from a cut on everything from food and banquet fees to spa charges.
However, the project soon ran aground again. According to Mr Cohen’s testimony in 2017 and his plea agreement, negotiations with Mr Rozov’s group stalled, prompting the lawyer to turn to aides of Mr Putin to move the project forward.
Mr Cohen told congressional investigators last year that he had sent an email in January 2016 to Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president’s spokesman. He told the committee he never heard back from Mr Peskov and the tower deal collapsed by the end of that month.
But according to Mr Cohen’s new statement to prosecutors, the tower deal remained viable as late as June 2016, after Mr Trump had vanquished his Republican presidential rivals and was mounting his general election campaign against Hillary Clinton.
Mr Cohen said he had spoken by phone with an assistant to Mr Peskov in January 2016 and outlined the project and “requested assistance in moving the project forward.”

Look, the bottom line is, Trump is an idiot, but he's not stupid. He's been pulling shady shit for decades, and he knows how to cover his own ass. This is something that was widely known before he was elected. The things you should be mad about though you're not talking about, and instead you're screaming "Life in prison! Life in prison! He's best good friends with the Putin! ANYBODY WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A DIRTY COMMIE!!"
He's not going to prison. Not for 30 days, and definitely not for life. If he were going to prison, he would've gone decades ago for some corporate crime. But he's A) rich, and B) not stupid. He just plays a stupid person every minute of his life.
But you're wasting your time crying red menace. This will stay in the press through the next election cycle and be used as a talking point and then fade away because nothing conclusive is going to come out against him. Until then you're just going to go back and forth for 200 more pages calling each other assholes.
If you wanna talk about something that's already costing me and many businesses a ton of money, and is starting to creep now into your everyday life, that you absolutely should be mad about Trump for - Talk about his bungling trade war.
And one last thing that nobody here will read because this is already a wall of text - Russia isn't a world power anymore. They're not even in the top ten. Canada has a bigger GDP than Russia does, and with a tiny fraction of the population. Remember in Canadian Bacon where Alan Alda says he misses the days when you could dust it up with Russia for a media boost? Those days are long gone. They're geopolitically inconsequential.

Back when I used to teach reading comprehension, there was always this one big thing that my average/below average students would struggle with. You'd give them a sentence like:
Every other Wednesday sometime after 12pm and before 3pm, Mary takes her dog and drives over to the corner market where she proceeds to buy groceries for the week for her family.
And they'd see an answer choice that said something like: Sometimes people engage in individual activities of economic consumption on behalf of others.
And they would totally miss it because they were looking for words like: dog, groceries, market, etc instead of looking for concepts.
Every time I read one of PB's "Still no collusion!!!11!" posts, I think of those students.

I have a clue. That's why I know that a country with a GDP of 1.5 trillion is unlikely to attack a country with defensive treaties with countries whose GDPs add up to 37 trillion using only its two largest bodies.
