You can't argue against something that the prosecutor has yet to provide any evidence for.
This liberal trick is old as dirt, try again.
Oddly enough, the whole time the left has been pointing fingers at Trump while their savior has been facing/fined for collusion with a foreign government and nobody has said a damn thing until he was fined.

I'm not sure I understand your point here. You're seem to be implying there's no evidence of collusion, but that's a lie. There's actually a ton of evidence of collusion at this point. There's a difference between not having proved something and not having any evidence of it.
And just because Russia supported Sanders doesn't mean Sanders colluded with them. Last I checked, Sanders hasn't been telling everyone how great Putin was, trying to convince everyone that Russia didn't meddle in our elections, didn't hire a bunch of people who were suspected of being Russian operatives (including one who made a name for himself by helping Putin install a leader in another country), and there are no emails where members of his campaign was happily meeting with Russians promising dirt on Clinton.
So it's not really a fair comparison.

He is normally SO fast about responding to anything he considers to be a slight. Remember how he dealt with North Korea? Fire and Fury?
I'm genuinely wondering- why do you think this one is getting a pass? Or, at best, a heavily delayed response? There has to be something I'm not seeing here.

Really want to hurt Russia very badly, it's super simple. Authorize the sale of American natural gas to Europe. It would not take long for the Russian economy to be on the brink of collapse. As much bluster as Putin has, he knows Europe is paying his bills.

I think the point here is that Trump doesn't seem particularly interested in hurting Russia.
He was supposed to impose additional sanctions on them a month or so ago. He refused despite Congress having mandated it.
And no one is really sure why. Just like no one is sure why he went after Alec Baldwin the morning after the Florida Nuke Show instead of Russian and Putin.
He doesn't seem to have a lot of lines he won't cross. So far it's just his immediate family and Vladimir Putin.

That's definitely possible.
Wrath's point about possibly needing a lighter touch isn't a bad one. But I'm just having a really hard time thinking of another situation where Trump showed self-restraint after being threatened or insulted. He's currently making threats at the EU over their anger at his new tariffs. He threatens the media, he threatens Mueller, he threatens his own staff, he threatens North Korea, he threatens China, he threatened CANADA...the guy likes his threats.
Then a country does a mock nuclear bombing of the US- and suddenly he has self-restraint? It's just tough for me to swallow because I can't really think of any other similar situations where he's acted this way.

It's the ONLY side of him that makes me suspicious, that put's that seed of doubt in my mind. Democratliberalblah blah whatever da fuck who cares but... but but but why the FUCK does he just absolutely positively refuse to say a bad word or text or whatever about Russia even after they threaten to nuke Florida.
It's like OK guy, Mueller is on a witch hunt and Dems are playing politics I hear yah but what's with the super leniency on Russia? just fucking slam them like you do our allies so you can finally prove to America that you have absolutely no connection to Russia! Seems like a no brainer to me... uhhh duhhh people think I'm in cahoots with Russia... duhh I'll be super nice to them even when they threaten us that'll show I'm against them! duhh wait..
What about the Sanctions stuff? It turns out the first thing he tried to do when he got into office was to roll back the sanctions that Obama put into place to punish Russia for meddling in our elections. Why would that be any kind of priority whatsoever?
And if you sit around and think about what collusion would have looked like (hypothetically)- it's Russians helping Trump get elected, and Trump rolling back Russian sanctions. So if you know that people suspect you of colluding with the Russians- WHY would that be the first thing you did? Why would that be anywhere near your list? It would look horrible no matter what the circumstances- let alone when half the country thinks you're a Russian operative.
It's just really, really hard to ignore the fact that Trump got what he wanted, and he keeps trying to give Russia what it wants. And Trump refuses to punish Russia for helping him in the election- which makes it look like something he wanted to happen. People can say Mueller is on a witch hunt on they want, but shouldn't someone be looking into that? I mean, objectively, isn't that sort of the prudent thing to do?

WASHINGTON — As Russia’s virtual war against the United States continues unabated with the midterm elections approaching, the State Department has yet to spend any of the $120 million it has been allocated since late 2016 to counter foreign efforts to meddle in elections or sow distrust in democracy.
As a result, not one of the 23 analysts working in the department’s Global Engagement Center — which has been tasked with countering Moscow’s disinformation campaign — speaks Russian, and a department hiring freeze has hindered efforts to recruit the computer experts needed to track the Russian efforts.

Two basic facts make clear the extent of the dereliction.
The first fact is undeniable, that an operation orchestrated at the highest levels of Vladimir Putin’s government tried with alarming success to disrupt our elections in 2016 and is planning even greater disruptions in the future. The announcement by special counsel Robert Mueller’s office of indictments against 13 Russian nationals has finally settled the matter.
Even within the Trump administration, senior officials other than the President, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, CIA Director Mike Pompeo and national security adviser H.R. McMaster, have called the evidence incontrovertible and warned about the severity of continuing Russian interference.
Russia has launched similar disinformation warfare against other democracies in recent years, including Germany, France and the U.K. It deploys what a recent Rand Corp. study describes as a “fire hose of falsehoods,” precisely targeted to select audiences on an industrial scale. Although there is no evidence of actual tampering with votes, in 2016, Russian hackers breached sensitive voting records in Illinois and targeted the elections systems of 38 other states.
The U.S. remains under threat.
The second fact is equally undeniable: Trump has done virtually nothing to fight back or to deter future meddling. To the contrary, he has dwelled in narcissistic fantasy and called the Russia allegations part of a “hoax.”
He has smeared the veracity of Americans who have devoted their lives to public service yet has vouched for Putin’s sincerity. As ever more evidence has emerged, instead of defending the nation and its Constitution, Trump has stubbornly maintained his position.

So this whole time the Democrats were defending the constitution with the mandate?
I guess I just keep missing the part where it says "purchase health insurance or be punished"
Trump has not even come close to that kind of bullshit.
Democrats should pursue Impeachment now instead of waiting until after the midterms. Imagine the fire and brimstone that could take place in 9 months time, this must be done now.

Except the Supreme Court ruled that it wa constitutional.
Also, I don't understand how refusing to even try to stop Russia from hacking our elections is in the same category as making sure the country has medical care. And I really don't get how you could possibly argue that the healthcare is worse.

"ruled" does not = law.
Show me in the constitution where it says one must purchase insurance.
Why do I need to worry about Russia when the Democrats are trying to enact Communist laws?
Since when does insurance = medical care? Not a single damn thing about healthcare was fixed. All that happened is insurance companies were given the golden egg with the label monopoly written on the side.

What?
Ruled literally means law. That's outlined in the Constitution. And I'm pretty sure that it was decided because the Constitution allows Congress to levy taxes.
You're not actually required to buy insurance. You just have to pay a tax if you don't.
You're really not making any sense right now. And I can't even get into your communism argument because only like one country in the world with Universal Healthcare is Communist.

Not anymore you don't. Trump killed that Individual Mandate.
But yes, the Supreme Court ruling something does mean it is law in a roundabout way. It was law before that and they are just confirming it is a valid one or not a valid one within the scope of the Constitution.

The individual mandate wasn't something punishable by law. You couldn't go to jail, or face community service, or ever go near a Court or Police Station if you didn't have insurance. You weren't even actually fined. Your taxes just went up a bit.
It's sort of a stretch to say you were ever required to have insurance. To me, it's like saying you are required to give to charity because your taxes are higher if you don't.

It was a penalty, which is essentially a fine. If you don't pay it, you face further action. There really isn't a huge difference, other than what it is called.
Not that it matters anymore. It is gone after this tax season ends.

BREAKING: grandy jury in Mueller probe has issued subpoenas for docs going back to Nov. 1, 2015, 4½ months after Trump launched his campaign to Trump, Bannon, Cohen, Gates, Hicks, Lewandowski, Manafort, Page, Schiller and Stone.
Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is now directly gunning for President Trump — and not just on one front. It appears that Mueller is investigating whether Trump himself committed misconduct or possible criminality on two fronts, and possibly more.
NBC News is now reporting that Mueller has sent a subpoena to an unnamed witness that appears to hint at just how wide a net Mueller has cast. NBC reports that the subpoena suggests Mueller is focused, among other things, on determining what Trump himself knew about Russian sabotage of the 2016 election as it was happening.

In fairness, according to this article there was only one source for the Secretary of State claim. This is kind of a big deal as far as accusations go, and I feel like it would've been in the original memo if he was completely sure of it. (But maybe the info came later?)
But I can't lie here. Nominating Tillerson always just seemed so strange to me. Both the people in charge of Russian Sanctions (Secretary of State and Secretary of the Treasury) just happened to have serious Russian ties. I don't believe in coincidences in politics. It's all one giant chess game. I'm not saying there can't be another explanation for why these two were nominated, but I'm having a hard time finding one. But it's not like I know a ton about them.

I have to be honest- I don't think communism means what you think it means. And if this were communist then it wouldn't be something we mostly see in democracies. Also I'm not an economist but I do know enough to know that the value of the dollar isn't directly based on GDP. there's a reason why we have the Federal Reserve. And things like taxes do affect things like inflation which is directly related to the value of the dollar. That's not about GDP.
What's sort of funny though is that the whole "this is about the labor of the people, and we shouldn't be shaving anything off of that" was actually the basis of Marxism.

Having less acute costs to worry about encourages people to keep less money in ready reserve, which helps the economy either via spending or investing.

A Middle East specialist with ties to Donald Trump's team attended secret meetings during the presidential transition between the United Arab Emirates and Trump associates, and is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller, two people familiar with the matter say.
George Nader, a low-profile diplomatic go-between who has forged close ties to the Emirates, was stopped and questioned by the FBI at Dulles International Airport in January as he returned from an overseas trip, these sources say. Since then, he has been talking to Mueller's investigators and providing information to the grand jury.
Nader attended a December 2016 meeting in New York between Emirati officials and members of Trump's inner circle, and another in January 2017 in the Seychelles islands between the Emiratis and Erik Prince, a Trump associate. Nader was also in the Seychelles when Prince met with a Russian banker, the sources said.

Erik Prince had a secret meeting with Russian officials with ties to Putin in the Seychelles Islands the day after Obama expelled Russian diplomats. Mr. Nader was first served with search warrants and a grand jury subpoena on Jan. 17, shortly after landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, according to two people familiar with the episode. He had intended to travel on to Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s Florida estate, to celebrate the president’s first year in office, but the F.B.I. had other plans, questioning him for more than two hours and seizing his electronics.
Since then, Mr. Nader has been questioned numerous times about meetings in New York during the transition, the Seychelles meeting and meetings in the White House with two of Mr. Trump’s senior advisers, Jared Kushner and Stephen K. Bannon, who has since left the administration.

Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg says that he believes special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election is "warranted," walking back his previous remarks calling the probe a "witch hunt."
"No, I don't think it's a witch hunt. There's a lot there, and that's a sad truth," Nunberg told ABC News in an interview broadcast Saturday, a day after he answered a subpoena by Mueller's team to testify before a federal grand jury on his time in the campaign.
Nunberg also said after his grand jury testimony that he doesn't believe the investigation "leads to the president," despite his comments this week that he thought Mueller's team had evidence of criminal wrongdoing against the president.

We have certainly seen a decrease in the quality of our k-12 schools in that time period. That's not what rationing is. We set up a system where the government pays for college, and the quantity and cost of college attendance has skyrocketed - obviously, what else would colleges do? By repealing the individual mandate but not the subsidies we have now set up a system where the government pays for insurance - obviously, insurers will now jack up the price of insurance. Why wouldn't they? They won't lose any customers by doing so because the government foots the bill.

There is less product (in this case the product is education), higher demand and the price has skyrocketed. Quantity doesn't = quality, it's like eating a steady diet of mud cakes 3x a day and saying there's plenty of food to go around.
obviously, insurers will now jack up the price of insurance. Why wouldn't they? They won't lose any customers by doing so because the government is forcing everyone to buy health insurance.

There is less product (in this case the product is education), higher demand and the price has skyrocketed. Quantity doesn't = quality, it's like eating a steady diet of mud cakes 3x a day and saying there's plenty of food to go around. This is still wrong. But even if we assume you're right, it strengthens my case. Lower quality healthcare would mean higher consumption of healthcare: if I have to go to a doctor five times to get an ailment treated instead of one, the doctor doesn't charge any less, because the government has to subsidize the care regardless of whether it's any good.
Why didn't you ask yourself this in the first place?Good try. Insurance companies did not have the ability to increase costs indefinitely under the mandate because the government wasn't paying for everyone under the mandate. It is removing only the mandate and not the subsidies that has put the ledger in increasingly dire straits.

Rep. Schiff's statement:
“Today, the House Majority has announced it is terminating the Russia investigation, leaving to others the important work of determining the full extent of Russian interference in our election, the role of U.S. persons connected to the Trump campaign in that intervention, possible efforts to obstruct the investigation by the President and most important, what needs to be done to protect the country going forward. While the Majority members of our committee have indicated for some time that they have been under great pressure to end the investigation, it is nonetheless another tragic milestone for this Congress, and represents yet another capitulation to the executive branch. By ending its oversight role in the only authorized investigation in the House, the Majority has placed the interests of protecting the President over protecting the country, and history will judge its actions harshly.
“Next week, it will be one year since our investigation began with its first open hearing, and the country learned that the Trump campaign had been the subject of a counterintelligence investigation since July of the election year. Since that time, we have learned a great deal about countless secret meetings, conversations and communications between Trump campaign officials and the Russians, all of which the Trump Administration initially denied, would later misrepresent, and finally be forced to acknowledge. Thirteen Russians have been indicted in a far reaching conspiracy in which the Russians sought to influence our election by helping Donald Trump, hurting the Hillary Clinton campaign and sowing discord in the United States. Most significant, high-ranking Trump campaign and Administration officials have also been indicted, including the President’s national security advisor, his campaign chair and deputy campaign chair, as well as one of his foreign policy advisors, and three of those have already pled guilty.
“During that first open hearing of our investigation, I asked whether we could conduct this investigation in the kind of thorough and nonpartisan manner that the seriousness of the issues merited, or whether the enormous political consequences of our work would make that impossible. At that time, I said that I did not know the answer, but ‘if this committee can do its work properly, if we can pursue the facts wherever they lead, unafraid to compel witnesses to testify, to hear what they have to say, to learn what we will and, after exhaustive work, reach a common conclusion, it would be a tremendous public service and one that is very much in the national interest.’
“Regrettably, that challenge proved too much. The Majority was not willing to pursue the facts wherever they would lead, would prove afraid to compel witnesses like Steve Bannon, Hope Hicks, Jeff Sessions, Donald Trump Jr., Corey Lewandowski and so many others to answer questions relevant to our investigation. It proved unwilling to subpoena documents like phone records, text messages, bank records and other key records so that we might determine the truth about the most significant attack on our democratic institutions in history. Instead, it began a series of counter-investigations, designed to attack the credibility of the FBI, the Departments of Justice and State, and investigate anyone and anything other than what they were charged to do — investigate Russia’s interference in our election and the role the Trump campaign played. Ironically, even while they close down the Russia investigation, they plan to continue trying to put our own government on trial: this is a great service to the President, and a profound disservice to the country.
“Some will say that we should leave the investigation to Special Counsel Mueller anyway, since he has the resources and independence to do the job. But this fundamentally misapprehends the mission of the Special Counsel, which is to determine whether U.S. laws were broken and who should be prosecuted. It is not Mueller’s job to tell the American people what happened, that is our job, and the Majority has walked away from it. Others may be tempted to say a pox on both houses, and suggest that in a dispute between the parties, both must be equally culpable. But after months of urging the Majority to do a credible investigation, the Minority was put in the position of going along with a fundamentally unserious investigative process, or pointing out what should be done, what must be done, to learn the truth. We chose the latter course.
“On a fundamental aspect of our investigation — substantiating the conclusions of the Intelligence Community’s assessment that the Russians interfered in our democracy to advance the Trump campaign, hurt Clinton and sow discord — we should have been able to issue a common report. On those issues, the evidence is clear and overwhelming that the Intelligence Community Assessment was correct. On a whole host of investigative threads, our work is fundamentally incomplete, some issues partially investigated, others, like that involving credible allegations of Russian money laundering, remain barely touched. If the Russians do have leverage over the President of the United States, the Majority has simply decided it would rather not know. On the final aspect of our work — setting out the prescriptions for protecting the country going forward — we will endeavor to continue our work, with or without the active participation of the Majority.
“In the coming weeks and months, new information will continue to be exposed through enterprising journalism, indictments by the Special Counsel, or continued investigative work by Committee Democrats and our counterparts in the Senate. And each time this new information becomes public, Republicans will be held accountable for abandoning a critical investigation of such vital national importance.”

As trump hastens the decline of U.S. power we now have to worry about retaliation. I'm not talking sanctions, tariffs or a stern talking to by the U.N. but actual military incursion into our territory. Chinas quickly becoming a force militarily and with the money they're spending plus their manpower we could be facing real defeat and humiliation in the not so distant future. The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russia, according to two people briefed on the matter. The order is the first known time that the special counsel demanded documents directly related to President Trump’s businesses, bringing the investigation closer to the president.
The breadth of the subpoena was not clear, nor was it clear why Mr. Mueller issued it instead of simply asking for the documents from the company, an umbrella organization that oversees Mr. Trump’s business ventures. In the subpoena, delivered in recent weeks, Mr. Mueller ordered the Trump Organization to hand over all documents related to Russia and other topics he is investigating, the people said.
The subpoena is the latest indication that the investigation, which Mr. Trump’s lawyers once regularly assured him would be completed by now, will drag on for at least several more months. Word of the subpoena comes as Mr. Mueller appears to be broadening his investigation to examine the role foreign money may have played in funding Mr. Trump’s political activities. In recent weeks, Mr. Mueller’s investigators have questioned witnesses, including an adviser to the United Arab Emirates, about the flow of Emirati money into the United States.

The AG side of this has been very quiet. I remember reports when the investigation started about coordination between Mueller and SDNY, but haven't heard much about it since then. Felix Sater, a Russian-born businessman and associate of President Donald Trump, confirmed Friday that the Trump Organization was pursuing a deal with a sanctioned Russian bank at the height of the 2016 election.
The company was trying to secure financing for a Trump Tower in Moscow from Russia's VTB Bank through a local developer.
The US imposed sanctions on VTB in 2014 and 2015, which froze its assets in the country and blocked US entities from doing business with the bank.
Weeks later, the two men exchanged a series of emails gearing up to celebrate the Trump Tower Moscow deal. In the emails, obtained by The Times, Sater bragged about his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and told Cohen he would "get all of Putins team to buy in" on the deal.
"Our boy can become president of the USA and we can engineer it," Sater wrote, according to The Times.
Sater added: "I will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected."

If Russia continues its cyber aggression, “you’ll see the president continue to take bold and swift action to make sure the United States won’t sit idly by," Spicer argued on "America's Newsroom."
“It certainly is one of the toughest things he’s done since he became president towards Russia, but picking up on what Sean Spicer just said, I’d push back and say it's neither bold nor swift," Wallace said after watching a clip of the former Trump spokesman's comments.
"The fact is that these were sanctions that were passed overwhelmingly, I think the vote was 98-2 in the Senate, last July and there was a lot of complaints from the Republicans as well as Democrats, 'Why hadn’t the President actually imposed these sanctions that have been authorized by Congress?'"
"He invoked some of them yesterday, but there are major sanctions that were still in his arsenal that were still approved by Congress to go after the defense industry and other industries in Russia that the president did not impose yesterday," the "Fox News Sunday" host continued. "So this was a middle step, stronger than what he’s done, but not nearly as far as he could have gone."
Trump's really dragging his feet on Russia. Mostly I think trump is an incompetent bungler with a well honed knack for baffling with bullshit. He's a great pitchman no doubt but I've not given him credit for being actively involved in a major criminal conspiracy. I'm beginning to re-think that. President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, told The Daily Beast on Saturday morning that he hopes Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will shut down the Mueller probe.
Reached for comment by email about the firing of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, sent The Daily Beast the text of Trump’s most recent tweet on the subject, which applauded the firing. Then he wrote that Rosenstein should follow Sessions' lead
“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier,” Dowd then wrote.
Subtle. Get McCabe one day, warn Rosenstein the next.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has interviewed fired former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, sources familiar with the investigation told CBS News. McCabe was asked by the firing of James Comey as well as his own conversations with President Trump, CBS News' Paula Reid reports.
McCabe kept memos of his conversations with Mr. Trump and what happened during Comey's firing and Mueller is in the possession of the memos.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has presented President Trump's legal team with a list of questions as investigators seek an interview with the president.
The New York Times reported Saturday that the questions were a sort of starting point for Mueller, whose team is working to negotiate an interview with Trump as part of the investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 election.
It was after his legal team received the questions that Trump launched into a series of tweets, in which he denied that his campaign coordinated with Moscow during the 2016 election and lambasted Mueller's investigation as unnecessary.
In one Saturday night tweet, Trump asserted that Mueller's investigation should never have been opened in the first place, because there was "no collusion" and "no crime."

In other words, things are coming to a head soon.
