I'm not downplaying Duke. He won a very tiny district with fewer than 22k registered voters, of which he barely won in a jungle style primary special election by 227 votes. All of the major endorsements went to his opponent, pretty much no one wanted him in the house other than the 8500 people who voted for him, and he served one term. If this is being used as evidence that the Republican party is the party of racists while Democrats get a pass for Byrd then just no. No.

Also, it's VERY clear that the dossier was not the crux of the evidence. The documents clearly state that Page was a Russian asset. We already knew they suspected it, but now we know they had confirmed it.

And FISA renewals must be based on new evidence obtained from the surveillance. Which means the dossier had nothing to do with the last three 90 day periods. They were finding new, legitimate evidence that he was working with the Russians every single 90 day extension period.

Conservative media and the President are banking on people like PK not reading any of the FISA application and not understanding how the process works.
