What annoys me the most with regards to the whole "race", "slave", "subjugation", "insert every bad thing humans have done to each other" arguments.... is literally every race has enslaved/killed/abused every other race there is.

The concept of societal evolution is to recognize that, and moving forward demand everyone treat everyone else the same... without punishing a current generation for the sins of their ancestors.

Slavery in the US was horrible, yes, but why do they blame "white Americans"? .... When it was actually the British, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Scottish etc. that actually instituted and owned slaves.

"Americans" are the result of those individuals that drove out those monarchies and governments to form their own Nation. "Americans" are the ones that ended slavery and fought to ensure "equality under the law". It definitely wasn't done overnight. There were atrocities committed by individuals during the process. It took years to resolve many historical viewpoints and belief systems that denigrated others.

But that is not taught. That is not celebrated. That is not respected.

Instead we get people like Whoopi, and others, that think racism and "Americans" are solely to blame for slavery. It's sad honestly. We as a people will never move forward if each generation only complains and remains victims to the past, as opposed to learning the lessons and living them on a day to day basis.

Sadly, to much money is involved to truly move forward.

I wonder, did Whoopi forget that long before the Jews were decimated by the Germans... that Jews were slaves themselves? Does the fact that modern Jews "look white" as Whoopi said, means their enslavement was less horrific? Of course not, she is just a jaded individual who only see's color - and doesn't see humans. The worst type of person IMO.

There are a lot of small churches that can only exist due to the tax exempt status, and I think it would harm the poorer communities if those were shut down. Setting it to a limit of about 1m would protect them. If a place is making over 1m a year, you then phase in taxes after that amount. Any place hitting that amount is probably not in danger of closing.

Providing members of the congregation with nonpartisan information about issues in an election.
Organizing voter registration drives.
Hosting candidates as speakers, provided that each candidate on the ballot is given an equal opportunity to participate.

I'm highly disappointed in the current Democrat legislation as much as I'm disappointed in Republican legislation. Both parties stand in the way of what needs to be done to fix the problems we face.

30% of the US land mass is blocked from human development (640 million acres). In theory, that's enough land for 2 acres for every man woman and child in the US.

A portion of that land needs to be given to slave descendants and a new homestead act, another portion needs to be privatized for natural resources. The money from the sale of that land would be used to fund grants for homesteaders and tribal nations as well as pay down our debt.

Our school system needs upgraded, our classrooms are nearly a century old.

Our infrastructure needs updated. We need a Manhattan style project alongside a national work program, including a national healthcare system that's not an insurance scam.
