A former master’s student at a small California college was arrested Monday for allegedly reporting 10 fake racist threats.

Anayeli DominguezPena, 25, of Ontario, California, claimed she received the threats last year via social media and email. She also reported finding a smoking backpack in her car and being physically assaulted by a man wearing a ski mask on campus.

Her reports caused the University of La Verne to close for a day last May.

However, the La Verne Police Department said Monday that DominguezPena had actually been threatening herself, as well as other students in her unofficial “social justice” group.

DominguezPena was charged with six counts of filing a false police report along with false impersonation over the internet and felony counts of making criminal threats and filing a false claim with the state victim compensation fund, according to the La Verne Police Department.

She was booked at the Los Angeles County Jail in Pomona and was being held on $200,000 bail.

University spokesman Rod Leveque said that the school had held an assembly in the campus gymnasium during the day classes were cancelled. Students and faculty discussed DominguezPena’s claims, as well as the state of race relations at the school and nationally.

“It was an important and powerful moment for us,” Leveque said. “There’s been a tremendous desire for a resolution and to see this brought to a close.”

“I’m not sure this will bring closure, but we are grateful to have a better sense of what happened,” he added.

Police spokesman Bob Nishimura told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that he couldn’t confirm DominguezPena fabricated the attack she reported or if she placed the smoking backpack in her car.

However, Nishimura said the department used computer files, cell phone data and information on an internet cloud server to determine that DominguezPena sent threatening messages to herself, the university and the student group she led and its members.

Police did not identify the student group.

“I think she was trying to instigate some racial issues within the university,” La Verne Police Chief Nick Paz said. “She was sending messages to certain people and the comments that were being sent were of a racial nature.”

According to Paz, DominguezPena sent some of the messages while impersonating the president of one of the campus fraternities. She used the fraternity’s logo and other identifiers of its student leader, police said.

Besides allegedly making the false accusations, DominguezPena filed a claim with the California Victim Compensation Board, Nishimura said.


The CalVCB provides assistance in the form of grants to victims of crimes.

“We found the suspect applied for benefits, signed forms under penalty of perjury and tried to get victim compensation benefits from the state,” Nishimura said.

DominguezPena’s arrest is the most recent example of false reports of “hate crimes” within the past month. Normally I would be the first person to say that if someone took a plea deal we can't then give them the benefit of the doubt because we never got to see the evidence presented in court and make a determination for ourselves.

But this case is different. We now have evidence that the FBI was specifically targeting Flynn and were determined to charge him with a process crime, the only question they had was whether or not they wanted to get him fired or prosecuted.

So in this case the pleading of guilty means shit, he is clearly an innocent man who took a plea deal to stop the endless legal battle that was costing him a fortune.

Not only that but he was never even sentenced so that's a double fuck that to the "But he pleaded guilty!!1" nonsense.

Most law enforcement agencies these days will record what a person says so there is proof of what the personsaid, but the FBI doesn't record anything and instead the agents just make notes about the person said, making it all too easy (as we have seen in the Flynn case) for an agent to just change what the person "said" then they can charge the person with lying to the FBI.

I bought Ford, GE and United Airlines at 24 month or more lows and am making a killing. My UAL is up 70% from when I bought it two or three weeks ago. I think many of them just claim to be about doing the right thing because it sounds good. If they truly believed in what they were saying they wouldn't go about doing things the wrong way.

Some likely do start off from the right place but I think living the life of a politician ends up corrupting them. It is just too easy of a slippery slope to fall down. They do some good when they get in then either themselves or others convince them that it's ok to do a little bad to stay in office because they did that little bit of good, and they'll do more good things to make up for it. But, before too long they become what they entered politics to fight in the first place.

This is the biggest reason why people want term limits. For most people it takes sometime to wear down their morals. Of course if you look at today's politics they don't even seem like a requirement any more. Just say you hate the other guy and one maybe two things a person can agree with and you've got their vote.

Hard not to blame you in regards to Tgo. He comes across as frothing at the mouth with every post he makes. If you want to converse with him you are going to have to try and tune that out and focus on the content of his posts, and worry less about his tone.

When Obama ran I thought McCain was the better choice but he blundered there at the end during the third debate and that likely cost him the election. I did like Obama's message of hope and change but his first term brought none of that. It was rather disappointing, the democrats had a real shot at making positive changes but none of them ever happened. Even the ACA was a disappointment, it should have been a single payer system but for no apparent reason it wasn't. Then for whatever reason the DNC decided it was a good idea to shove Hilary down the throats of the American public, so now we have Trump.

And it isn't like the republicans have done much better. They had a shot under Bush just like the dems had a shot under Obama.

Trump has clearly done some good for the country but it isn't like he is without his faults. As you've pointed out he has a very divisive leadership style and has done little to help bring the country together as a whole. He also says a lot of stupid things that people like to latch onto and not let go of. I am sure he hasn't really done much with education in regards with the direction I'd like to see it go. A lot of the change that people claim to want for the country would come from changing our educational system but that is a lot of time and money and people don't want to make the investment. PB... as much as I like a good debate and don't mind different points of view, they don't contribute anything of value, so I'd rather spend my time conversing with people who can maintain some level of rationality and civility. While I respect his right to post and believe what he wants, I also respect my right to ignore it and not feed it. And it bothers me when the liberal posters attack them too. I think it's senseless and just feeds into the hatred more. When I first started reading the forums again a few days ago, I fed into that hate hard, and I went down to that level, called them names, etc. in some anonymous rep. So I get that I likely won't be able to get through to them, because as soon as I did that I alienated them. That's all that happens when we spew hate. So it's best for us to just not have discourse. I reflected a lot on it, and it made me realize how systemic and easy hatred has become for us. While it wasn't a normal behavior for me, I did it and I regret it and I own that.

I honestly have a hard time seeing much good Trump's done, and the hate and divisiveness surely outweighs it in my eyes, and definitely makes it hard to see any good at all. I've had the same thought about the powerful people in the world not wanting a more educated populous. In the long run it doesn't make any sense but then again for them it may just be the status quo. United we'd all be stronger and if they were the ones behind it they'd be made all the stronger for it as well.

Not a bad day for the old 401K.

UAL since I bought it on May 14th... +122.66%. It was over +150% this morning when the market was up like 900. I seriously wish I had put more in it (and I was psychic enough to do so). I was just a pussy. I didn't believe it'd come back so strongly or quickly.

This is why I don't do the stock market. Nothing about any of this makes sense to me. I thought for sure the stock market would start tanking with the out of control riots on top of a large portion of the economy still being shut down.

I understand that a big part of stocks is optimism, but there is a lot to be pessimistic about at the moment.

This is the 50 year DJIA graph - 1967 to 2017 Details don't really matter, just look at the lines. I believe in data, and data suggests betting on indexes will win in the long run. I knew this 20 years ago, and I know it today. So long as I'm not trying to cash out today, my money will only go up over time.
