I too will have a void that no amount of pretty gowns(even Nalea) can fill.

You see Tareesa.
She appears to be a Vaalor Elf.
She appears to be young and untried and tall. She has dark-rimmed pale blue eyes and copper skin. She has long, straight gilt-colored hair with lustrous pale silver highlights that falls to just below her knees. She has a dainty face, a straight nose and high cheekbones. Her face is shadowed by the deep hood of her robes.
She is in good shape.
She is holding an aquamarine inlaid faewood runestaff in her right hand.
She is wearing a pale golden gossamer silk veil hung from a lapis-inlaid gold circlet, a pale gold gossamer silk cloak, a white gold-linked choker, some airy deep blue moire silk robes with a wispy aquamarine overskirt belted with a gold linked chain, a gold-laced pale blue silk vest, a set of lapis-inlaid twisted gold bracelets, some wispy blue spidersilk pants, a slim gold and sapphire toe-ring, and some sapphire ankle-chained slippers
The choker: A double row of delicate white gold links have been polished to a sparkling sheen to create a tightly fitted, yet elegant choker. Tiny yellow diamonds and golden beads have been strung together on a slender cord and threaded through each link, reflecting back points of light with each motion. A platinum setting holds a large colorless feystone roughly carved into a five-pointed star that serves as the choker's hidden clasp.
Runestaff: The pale faewood staff has been carefully polished until the wood shines with a faint golden hue. Darker gold streaks have been painted along the shaft, blending elegantly with the natural wood's hue. Three rows of pale marquis-cut aquamarine are inlaid down the length of the runestaff, their light blue color adding a sparkle as they spiral downward. Twined between each gem are crudely cut runes of varying sizes, smaller towards the top while increasing in size through their downward descent. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
I feel like I have a bit too much blue and gold and the majority of the items were bought off the shelf. Exceptions would the be robes, choker and runestaff.
I really like this outfit and I adore the change from a Vaalor wearing red and gold to blue and gold, which is a personal favorite color grouping of mine. I think she looks great! Where does she live?

She appears to be a Faendryl Dark Elf.
She appears to be youthful and taller than average. She has brooding dark eyes and pale skin. She has shoulder length, silky ebony hair swept back and tucked behind her slender pointed ears. She has an angular face and high cheekbones.
She has a crossed main gauche tattoo on her ankle.
She is wearing a pair of slim etched ebony hairsticks, a formal grey silk cloak, a beaded grey opal and ebony choker, a twilight grey silk gown adorned with a bodice and overskirt of fine black lace, and some low-heeled dark grey silk slippers.
>l hairsticks
The slim hairsticks are square in cross-section, and an intricate pattern of laurel leaves has been etched along a single side of each one. The other three sides of each hairstick have been polished to a flawless gleam.
>l choker
Silken threads pull seven rows of round ebony beads into a thick band clasped at the back with a carved ebony hook and eye. Tiny grey moonglae opals intersperse the dark wood at random intervals, gleaming like stars in the night sky. A larger moonglae opal cabochon dangles from the center of the lowest strand to rest in the hollow of the throat.
Wow, this outfit gets an "A+" in my book. I love the subtle colors that say sexy and dark, instead of "I am teh uber evil." And that choker I just adore.

Jesae the Ice Queen
You see Jesae.
She appears to be a Sylvankind of the Lassaran D'ahranal.
She appears to be of full age and taller than average. She has bright crystal green eyes and fair skin. She has hip-length, lavish champagne blonde hair that slithers down her back in glossy, sharply kinked waves. She has a delicate face, an upturned nose and sharp pointed ears.
She has a slender silver hoop in the upper ridge of her left ear, and a green wisp of smoke tattoo on her thigh.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a finely polished silver mirror in her right hand.
She is wearing a swirling sonic barrier, an oversized white gardenia tucked behind one ear, a silver-bound black diamond choker, an intricately carved ebonwood talisman, a water-filled spiral curlicue charm, a sumptuous white fox fur stole, a delicate silver-clasped handbag, a single-strap cobalt panne gown, some dainty ribbon gartered stockings, and some stylish high-heeled sandals.
Talisman: This is my giftbox enhancer, had it altered.
The cylindrical piece of ebonwood might appear smooth from a distance, but close inspection tells a different tale. Swirling images of animals, spirits, and demons have been meticulously carved into the wood and linked with arrangements of exotic flora and fauna. Each carving undulates into the start of the next to form an endless spiral looping constantly up and down. Tiny runes have been branded into each end, and years of age and handling have polished the wood to a smooth, glossy sheen.
Charm: One of my two alters from the Spitfire.
The charm is filled with water, though glowing specks within fade in and out with the slightest movement.
Thin hand-blown glass has been shaped into a gently curving corkscrew spiral and sealed at both ends with sharp tapering points. Miniscule pieces of mica are suspended within the glass, causing the pin to glitter whimsically when caught in the light.
Sandals:
Perched on painfully-high ebonwood heels, crisscrossing straps of black satin ribbon are meant to encircle the ankles before wrapping around twice and tying at the back in a bow. Bands of stiffened satin cross over the toes and are enhanced with a row of tiny square-cut diamonds studded across their surface.
The gown and stole were designed by yours truely for Darva's fashion show, so of COURSE I had to buy them.
Definitely not a hunting outfit but I'm converting her over to ranged weapons so hopefully it MIGHT be more viable to be wearing shoes like THAT while hunting.;)

You look at yourself carefully in the pine-framed mirror, hoping for a reflection...
You see Hammerrhead the Cavalier.
He appears to be a Giant of the Grot'karesh Clan.
He appears to be young. He has black eyes and sickly yellow skin. He has raggedly cut, tangled black hair. He has a lopsided and slightly deformed face and a missing tooth. He has a large wad of tobacco stuffed in his lower lip.
He has a small black skull tattoo on his ankle, a black chain tattoo on his ankle, a black chain tattoo on his neck, and a small black skull tattoo on his neck.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a coppery brown vultite wall shield in his left hand.
He is wearing some red-tinted spectacles, a coppery brown glaes ring, a coppery brown glaes band, a shark's tooth earring, a coppery brown rolaren shark, some coppery brown rolaren chainmail, a visored vultite helm, a coppery brown shamrock, a bleached crossed bone bowtie, a pair of heavy vruul skin gauntlets set with copper knuckle-spikes, a corroded copper bracelet adorned with a series of rusted iron studs, a coppery brown pouch, a coppery brown sack, a badly scuffed wolf hide sheath trimmed with rotting ironwood, some burnished copper bangles, a coppery brown backpack, some corroded copper carillons, a tasteless khaki-colored greatcloak, some enruned spidersilk bracers, some enruned spidersilk leg greaves, some coppery brown suspenders, some frayed hemp pants, and some weathered camouflage boots.
I remembered the muff discussion from a few weeks ago, and while in Frostacres I found a wagon selling: a tasseled soft black fur muff, a silver-belled arctic fox fur muff, and a white mink fur muff. Not sure if you guys are interested or not...

Best thing about the gown its legworn and scripted. Yay for silly GM's!
I loved those leg-worn scripted dresses. I think I bought ten or so. But yeah, she looks pretty! Pink would look good with her coloring.

He appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
He appears to be youthful and taller than average. He has gleaming, intense dark eyes and fair skin. He has long, lustrous silver hair woven into a myriad of tiny braids that extend to erratic lengths down his back, with a single ebony braid that is secured with a blackened silver band that stands out from the rest. He has thin pointed ears.
He has a claw-marked Nalfein crest tattoo on his forearm.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a deep black onyx kitten-inset tikka, a black onyx cat-inset collar, a thin golvern-edged quiver with a raw silk-lined strap, a deeply hooded elven-styled cloak with reinforced leather straps, a golvern-banded ruic yumi with a despanal-studded grip wrapped in raw silk, a shirt of silvery elven chainmail, an onyx-inset deep crimson manacle, some deep black Nalfein crested finger-armor set with an onyx claw, a small black kitten-shaped bag, a tightly-knit soot black kilt embroidered with a Nalfein crest, a slender Nalfein ankle-sheath wrapped with twining leather tendrils, some sturdy nalfein-style boots wrapped with leather, and a sleek silk-wrapped dual crossbow with a gleaming golvern-edged stock.
Damn dual crossbow keeps flipflopping in my inventory when I swap the sides. Can't keep it next to the yumi.
I really didn't mean to overkill the Nalfein on him. I have a few characters but for some strange reason they filtered to my archer.
Just a note about his hair...the single oddly color braid is supposed to signify the status in negotations or diplomatic affairs and the band the profession. There's no documentation for it but I'm RP'ing it as part of a family thing.
I thought so! You play the twins! 'r at least one of 'em. I always thought they were sweet-looking, but never managed to do much besides engage them in conversation temporarily.
As far as the hair goes, I had something similar for my Nalfein's family. She had two middle names, one of which denoted her profession that the outside world knew, bard. The second shows her real profession that she was trained by the family for.

You liked the outfits?!
I always admired your more subtle wares but my designs are about as subtle as a sledgehammer on a fly, with the occasion to veer off into the direction of purely odd.
Heh, my taste is extremely diverse. Lysistrata is one teeny tiny facet of it. I think I might be one of the few people that sees absolutely nothing wrong, and actually likes, out-of-nature hair colors on characters, as an example. Lysistrata was just subtle because that's how she was. I had another character that was anything but subtle, covered head to toe in flame-red and raven stuff. Ah, theme wear.

He appears to be a Giant.
He appears to be ancient. He has blue eyes and fair skin. He has shoulder length, wavy light brown hair. He has a weathered face and frown lines.
He has a twisting black kraken tattoo on his chest.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a swirling sonic barrier, a pair of vambraces, a navaal quarter note, a twilight grey brooch, a quicksilver-filled infinity symbol, a pair of galvorn-toed boots, an intricate eog and mithril scabbard, an old cracked leather belt pouch, a leather rucksack, a woven mithril alloy mesh cloak, and an old leather belt.

If you are going to change that almost perfect description with an alteration, I've got a scripted Nalea houppelande that is nearly as ugly as a cow's pimpled winker that I could toss into the trade.
And to keep us on topic:
She appears to be a Sylvankind of the Kytawa D'ahranal.
She appears to be in the flower of life and shorter than average. She has dark-lashed sage green eyes and tanned skin. She has very long, straight honey blonde hair with subtle highlights and two wisps that frame her face with gold. She has a heart-shaped face and tall upswept pointed ears.
She has a ring of lilies tattoo on her finger.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a lustrous pure white lily tucked behind one ear, a multi-gemmed quintuple ring symbol suspended from a thin pewter chain, some delicate prayer beads, a deeply-hooded cobalt blue gossamer cape with concentric circle pewter shoulder clasps, a wire-bound white crystal wristlet, a multi-layered ethereal grey robe, a deep ebony raw-silk pouch, a gem-beaded raw-silk scroll satchel, and some beaded grey silk sandals.
Beads: The smooth, pea-sized beads have been carved from ancient yew wood and painted red, blue, black, green and white. Hanging from the beads is a small pewter medallion. Gold etching on the medallion depicts a mature woman wearing gossamer robes that cover her feet. Directly below the woman, the words "In Her Grace" have been meticulously carved.
Robe: Tiers of airy silk have been layered upon one another to form this voluminous robe. The silk is of a shimmering dove grey at the hems and becomes a darker grey toward the vestment like collar, giving off an ethereal appearance. Tailored to a rounded edge, the sleeves are deeply cuffed and come just above the floor. The only other adornment to the piece is a chain across the neck bearing a link of white, black, red, green, and blue pea-sized beads that hold the robe closed. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
Pouch: Dyed a deep ebony, this closeable pouch has been fashioned from strong raw silk. Five interlocking rings made of tiny bits of inlaid crushed rubies, sapphires, diamonds, emeralds and black opals are centered on the flap of the pouch. A scroll clasp has been carved from a knot of yew wood, inset with gold, and polished to a richly glossed finish.
Satchel: Precious ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond and black opal seed beads form interlocking circles around the flap of this soft white satchel. A richly-glossed thistle carved from yew wood serves as the clasp. The long braided shoulder strap has been tailored to allow the satchel to ride comfortably on the opposite hip.
Designs are a combination of my own, gifts, and other people's creativity.
I'll post my others when the sylph stumbles upon the rare opportunity to dress up.

I know who that is too! Her look is teh shite. Perfect mix of style and clerical attire. I know by looking at her who she serves without saying the name "Lumins" a gazillion times. Definately one of the better dressed people in the game.

Alright, now I just have to share what she is wearing today. Yes, I said today because I picked up this crazy habit from the sweetest girl who ever played GS about changing her outfits daily. So this is what Uniana is wearing today, I really don't know where she gets it from.
The gown was just altered this morning and it is meant to mimic Arwen's lavender gown in the two tower's.
You see Uniana.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to have come of age and taller than average. She has pale lilac eyes and ivory skin. She has long, silky black cherry-hued hair twisted into loose ringlets. She has a delicate face and thin eyebrows.
She has an elegant Nalfein crest tattoo on her back.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a dark-bladed crimson damask fan in her left hand.
She is wearing a fine elven silver filigree circlet, a silver water-filled choker with links of pearlescent scales trailing from the back, a layered plum chiffon chiton, an engraved silver bracelet, a traditional Nalfein eahnor ring, and a pair of amethyst silk slippers.
Show on chiton:
Soft burgundy chiffon has been layered over a undergown of vivid purple satin, making the chiton appear a deep plum color. The cowl-neck hangs loose in the front, and the sleeveless form of the gown is designed to be fitted to the body until it pools at the feet. Hems of rolled fabric in a lighter shade of burgundy make up the edge of the denuded back before they thin and cinch into straps at the shoulders, leaving the attached swathes of the chiffon to fall freely to the sides.
Show on bracelet:
Crafted from pure silver, this bracelet has been tooled with a pattern of thorned roses. The name, "Uniana," has been beautifully engraved amongst the roses. (A bit uncreative but it was a gift and an important part in her RP.)
The ring...has been seen here before. Heh.
Show on tattoo:
Encompassed in a solid golden frame, the crest is set upon a field of jade, and it depicts an onyx rose set above a pale purple thistle's head resting upon the tip of a black dagger. Thin crimson lines accent the base of the thistle's petals and the amethyst-hued hilt of the dagger. The crest is accented with a flourish of white lilies set among gracefully twining gold and green lines, and the flourish is repeated to either side of the frame in an exquisitely depicted mantle.
No, she would never hunt in this. She wouldn't do much of anything but stand around and look pretty...and probably tease a certain half-elf. If I feel some of her other outfits are noteworthy I'll post those as well.

That's a really well-done dress, Uniana. Naessi would steal it if she wore purple (which she doesn't).
Here's what Naessi is wearing today:
You see Naessi Wintersun the Ritualist.
She appears to be a Human.
She appears to be very young and short. She has fiery golden eyes and fair skin. She has very long, shiny chestnut hair that cascades in loose waves down her back. She has a delicate face and high cheekbones.
She has a tattooed symbol of Eorgina on her ankle.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a grey moonstone talisman, a hooded long grey silk jacket, a sparkling black diamond bracelet, a silver laced black satin bodice, a grey suede satchel, an embroidered black satin skirt, and some matte black satin slippers.
Talisman: A perfectly round grey moonstone has been carved with a stylized representation of the moon Lornon. Wreathed in scarlet flames, the name "Eorgina" has been etched in gold along the bottom. Inscribed on the back is the legend, "The Circle of the Grey Moon."
These were made my Mitra as a PRO request, designed by Berkana. I love them!

Sweet. I love it! Berkana seriously is one of the greatest designers. And it reminds me that I need to make something with a black diamond I was given.
Uniana's outfit day is mostly gowns and items that were her cousin's....so they've been shown on here before. Hehe. Maybe tomorrow she'll have a good hunting outfit to share.

Hee. Naessi flatly refuses to wear leathers or any kind of "vulgar" hunting clothing, so when she hunts (which is not often) she throws on a set of 5x robes and removes them as soon as she's done.
That way she can always be stylish!
-K
It's things like that that make me glad I made Lysistrata a bard. Her sonic barrier can be anything she wishes, and apparently all clear so it never covers her clothing from sight.
You see Lady Michiko Lawyk the Woodswoman.
She appears to be a Half-Sylvan.
She appears to be in the flower of life and short. She has long-lashed, expressive twilight blue eyes and flawlessly smooth, soft ivory-white skin. She has long, silky raven black hair that flows down her back, curling at the tips to brush against her hips. She has a dainty face, an upturned nose and petite, delicate ears that taper to slight points.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing an azure-edged dark blue lotus blossom attached to a silver hair-clip, a vaalorn shield locket, a vaalorn and veniom wedding ring, a twilight blue crushed velvet cloak, a back-laced azure silk bodice, a low-slung indigo cotton sarong, and a pair of slender indigo leather thong sandals trimmed with turquoise beads.
Show on the sarong: Fashioned from a single piece of lightweight cotton, this sarong is long enough to wrap around the wearer several times and has been made to sit low on the hips, drawing attention to the wearer's waist. Small turquoise beads have been sewn in a scattered pattern along the hemline, complementing the deep indigo hue of the fabric.

He appears to be a Giant of the Grishknel Clan.
He appears to be in the prime of life and taller than average. He has bright milky blue eyes and tanned skin. He has long, thick light brown hair worn in a single braid. He has a clean-shaven face, a broad nose and broad shoulders.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a coil of bloodstained rope in his right hand.
He is wearing a giant black warmask, a carved bone skull amulet, a skull-clasped grimy leather backpack, a gold-buttoned militia uniform jacket, some plain black armor, a dark glaes armband, a thick skull-clasped belt, a silver locksmith kit, an onyx-studded shadowy black hip-satchel, a wraith talon-fringed sheath, some dark blue militia uniform pants, and some bone buckled leather boots.
>l warmask
Peering close at the warmask you notice that it has been meticulously carved to resemble the image of an unknown, but hideous creature.
He has an altered cloak as well but I put it in the locker so he could wear the jacket.

You see Elrodin Sharo the Ranger.
He appears to be an Ardenai Elf.
He appears to be very young and taller than average. He has blue eyes and tanned skin. He has long, straight dark blonde hair. He has sharp pointed ears.
He has a golden leaf tattoo on his finger, and a stalking wolf tattoo on his ankle.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a leaf-etched Ardenai long bow in his left hand.
He is wearing a gold ring, a carved black wolf-shaped earcuff, a gold-edged white shield talisman, a pair of tanned leather gloves, a leaf-shaped aetherstone pendant, a leaf-clasped elven satchel, a translucent spidersilk backpack, a leaf-etched Ardenai wrist sheath, a bowman's wrist guard, a tan leather quiver, a leaf-embossed brushed leather thigh-quiver, some tailored sage green silk trousers, a gold-edged pure white silk shirt, a linen leaf-patterned sack, a wide leaf embossed belt, a leaf clasped Ardenai-styled cloak, some elven tracking boots, a crystal amulet, and some regal Ardenai-styled scalemail.
bow:This bow has been crafted carefully and meticulously in the traditional Ardenai style. Etched throughout the length of the silver bow are small golden leaves. Engraved above the handle is a large moss covered tree. Two leaf-shaped emeralds clasp a taut string to the bow. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
scalemail: The armor is composed of overlapping faenor-veined leaves dyed forest green to provide adequate concealment in any woodland setting. Several layers of leather and perforated cotton add comfort and protection to the ensemble while tooled intricate runes bring a unique style and beauty to the craftmanship. Tooled on the chest are the words "Our roots run deep. Valia Rashae." You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
satchel:The satchel has been weathered from many years of use including the soft leather, which has been worn down by the elements. The intricate hem has been slightly frayed but still holds tight. Stitched into the bottom corner is the image of a wolf laying beneath a moss covered tree. Clasped at the top of the flap is a small leaf-shaped emerald.
sheath:The silver-bound sheath has been etched with the scene of an archer carrying his bow. His wolf follows along by his side, watching the full moon above. Plush silver wolf fur lines the inside of the sheath in order to keep its contents safe. Two small emeralds clasp to a pair of leather straps, ensuring the sheath a perfect fit.

Thanks! I had it made this afternoon when Sukara was around. I'm hoping to make a top to match soon.
Hurray for summer outfits!
Shari

Damnit, Sukara was here?! <rips her hair out>
Well, while I'm here...
She has some sleek lustrous onyx rings in the upper ridge of her left ear, and a green wisp of smoke tattoo on her thigh.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a finely polished silver mirror in her right hand.
She is wearing an oversized white gardenia tucked behind one ear, a silver-bound black diamond choker, an intricately carved ebonwood talisman, a delicate silver-clasped handbag, a water-filled spiral curlicue charm, a strapless pristine alabaster faille gown lattice-laced down the back with black ribbon, and some stylish high-heeled sandals.
Can't claim the creativity for this gown, I happily paid a large some of money to liberate it from Dextra. Thanks again dear!
I was going to alter a pair of those pocketed sleeves to go with the alabaster gown but I never got around to it.
Anyway, decided to post someone less than pretty, since you're all so gorgeous in your sarongs and dresses and cheongsams and chittons! :P I just can't compete, so I must go to another arena all together!
I can't remember how much of her outfit I've posted before, so I'll go ahead and post the whole thing rather than look back through the thread. 'cause I'm lazy.
You see Kuaike Nagosidhe.
She appears to be a Dhe'nar Dark Elf.
She appears to be young and tall. She has sharply-slanted bright green eyes and ebon skin. She has long, straight white hair shaved underneath on the sides and back with a thin braid hanging behind her left ear. She has a narrow face and sharp pointed ears.
She has a large black scorpion tattoo on her back.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a trio of tiny bleached bone eyebrow rings, a sharp crocodile tooth choker, a wrapped natural linen top, a hip-slung wide grey leather knife belt hung with short thin sheaths, a hollow femur scroll tube, and a long dark leather loincloth.
Tattoo:
The stylized scorpion tattoo covers practically her entire back, a glistening deep black color just barely noticable against the darkness of her skin. The wicked-looking pincers are positioned on each of her shoulder blades and the tail extends down along her spine with the sharp stinger just over her tailbone.
Choker:
Strung on a thin, crudely braided sinew cord is a long line of sharp, yellowed crocodile teeth. Each tooth is unusually large and long, attesting to the size of the beast that once owned them.
Top: (Supposed to be a sort of breastband but they wouldn't allow that noun. Prudes!)
This garment is extremely simple -- just a long length of undyed linen wrapped tightly and tied in the back. The fit can be adjusted to the wearer's discretion, leaving the shoulders and abdomen bare if desired.
Tube:
Simple in its design, a long thigh bone has been cut and hollowed, then thoroughly cleaned and bleached. Blood-red velvet lines the tube to protect and cushion the scrolls. A thin leather thong is tied around the femur to allow it to be fastened to the wearer's belt.
Loincloth:
This loincloth is an incredibly simple garment, consisting of two flaps of dark brown leather. Each flap has laces extending from the top corners, allowing it to braid over the wearer's hips.

I threw up my character's formal wear a while ago, but unlike the other ladies, it seems, she'd much rather be wearing her hunting gear, so I guess I'll post that as well.
She is holding an ebony-hilted slender rolaren longsword in her right hand and an ebony-hilted slender rolaren main gauche in her left hand.
She is wearing a deeply hooded dark grey cloak lined with raw black silk, a grey stone amulet, a slim shirt of mottled rolaren chainmail, a shadowy grey silk pouch, a rolaren-bound grey suede sheath, some fitted grey suede breeches, and a pair of black leather boots with deep grey turn-down cuffs.
>l longsword
Shadow-grey suede wraps the ebony grip tightly, allowing only a narrow border of the deep black wood to emerge at either end. Smaller shards of ebony and moonglae opal inlay a decorative pattern of intertwining laurel leaves and blossoms along the silvery rolaren quillions and pommel. A single leaf reaches out from the quillions to the tang of the slender blade, where it meets the beginning of the blood groove. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
>l chainmail
Veins of black swirl through the silver-grey metal, mottling its appearance with a camouflaged pattern. Complementing the darker streaks, supple strips of ebon suede twist through each link to silence the natural clinking of the chain. In sporadic places, the strips braid together into sturdy leather ties that fasten the shirt snugly about the body. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
>l pouch
A braided black cord weaves in and out of the silk, forming a sturdy drawstring that loops up to catch on the belt of the wearer before pulling the bag securely shut. Slender rolaren laurel leaves etched with silver veins tip the drawstring on both ends.
>l sheath
Sturdy bands of rolaren reinforce the soft grey suede from within, protecting it from the sharp edges of any blade that it might carry. The silvery metal spills over the mouth of the sheath into a decorative rim that gleams faintly against the dark leather despite the numerous small scratches that mar its surface.

Yay, new outfit.
I didn't make any of this stuff save for the sandals and charm which have been shown before, but it still looks nice all together!
She has some sleek lustrous onyx rings in the upper ridge of her left ear, and a brilliant peacock tattoo on her shoulder.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing an oversized white gardenia tucked behind one ear, a silver-bound black diamond choker, a water-filled spiral curlicue charm, a delicate silver-clasped handbag, a heavily-boned pink silk corset, a soft white tea-length skirt, a lace-ruffled pink ribbon garter, and some stylish high-heeled sandals.
look corset
Tailored from delicate pink silk, this corset features heavy boning that nips the wearer's waist in, giving a very slimming appearance. The pink silk has been carefully brushed to have a soft sheen, while the stitching has been done with great care so as not to mar it. Pink silk ribbons lace the corset up along the sides, tying in neat bows at the waist.
look skirt
Fashioned to ride low on the hips, this alluring garment seems to have been made particularly for a slender and petite wearer. A thin vine of ivy wrought from hammered silver creeps about the low waist, adding a hint of color to the skirt. Tiny diamond teardrops are inset to look as if they fall like rain down the length of the skirt, beginning with a light drizzle and ending with a heavy downpour closer to the hemline. (I don't like the silver ivy too much but I can always fix that down the road.)
look garter
The delicate ribbon of this garter is styled to ruffle about a sturdy leather band. Deep folds in the ribbon are barely large enough to hold a small lockpick. Two lace covered drawstrings secure the leather band to the wearer's thigh.
Very flirty...very Jesae.
I would have to shoot myself if I ever wore something like this.

She appears to be young and sprightly and shorter than average. She has sultry pale blue eyes and fair skin. She has shoulder length, curly amber hair with lighter streaks. She has a delicate face, a small nose and dimpled cheeks.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a delicate woven gold circlet engraved with tiny green acantha leaves, some gold elm leaf earrings, a cuctucae berry talisman, a hooded fawn silk greatcloak, a side-laced fawn brocade bodice, some butterfly crested leather hunts, a gold diamond-cut bangle, a stylish gold sash, an antique leather potions bag, a tailored fawn brocade skirt, a golden orange satin thigh-band, and some dark gold brushed suede slippers.

You see Uniana.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to have come of age and taller than average. She has pale lilac eyes and ivory skin. She has long, silky black cherry-hued hair twisted into loose ringlets. She has a delicate face and thin eyebrows.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a pair of gold rose-engraved hairsticks, a rose-trimmed plum brocade bliaut, a dark-bladed crimson damask fan, an heirloom Nalfein signet ring, and a pair of rich garnet silk slippers.
Show on bliaut:
The bliaut is of a fairly simple design, and made of a beautiful plum brocade featuring a pattern of blooming roses. Tailored to be form-fitting, it fits the wearer like glove before flaring out gently at the hips and cascading downwards in graceful folds. Red-gold thread trims the square neckline and the cuffs of the bell-shaped sleeves.
Ring has been shown before. Once again she isn't hunting, she spent most the day studying.

You see Uniana.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to have come of age and taller than average. She has pale lilac eyes and ivory skin. She has long, silky black cherry-hued hair twisted into loose ringlets. She has a delicate face and thin eyebrows.
She has a thin malachite ring adorned with a tiny obsidian bead in the upper ridge of her left ear.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing some rose-cut malachite earrings, a satin lined black velvet cloak, a silver-boned dark velvet corset, an intricate obsidian-bladed fan, some carved obsidian bangles, a cypress green samite skirt, and some ankle-tied ebony silk slippers.
Earrings were box found, the skirt was made at the sweatshop.
Fan has a cute show:
Polished obsidian blades frame webbing of nearly sheer deep green spidersilk, extending out past the fabric for almost two inches. Stylized rose shapes have been cut out of each of the thicker blades on the sides and then inlaid with jade that matches the spidersilk in hue.
Very Nalfein today.
Heh, that's my fan. X_x Gave it away when I tried to leave. I didn't like it as much as my sleek dark bladed silk fan, so I just kept that one.

I hear ya there. Naessi doesn't wear spidersilk for the same reason, it's SO overdone.
I wanted to discuss fabric ideas, however. I have an enormous amount of satin and silk, some suede and gossamer, but I need more ideas. I don't really like brocade, but I think some nice linen might work? Any other ideas for fabric that are/can be semi-fancy or fancy? Naessi is too prissy to wear heavy leather or something "commonplace" like cotton.

Linen is probably your best bet. It can be a nice loose weave for summer clothes or a thick heavy weave for things like cloaks or elaborate gowns.
And to be honest, cotton was an extremely rare fabric back in the time setting that GS is in. It was very difficult to harvest and process into fabric, most clothes were mainly fashioned of wool until silk became popular among the nobility and the rich.
However, Jesae wouldn't be caught dead in something like cotton so I have some really nice linen pants designed for her once I find an alterer.

She appears to be a Sylvankind of the Lassaran D'ahranal.
She appears to be young and sprightly and shorter than average. She has sparkling violet eyes and lily white skin. She has waist length, flowing midnight black hair. She has a delicate face, a small nose and thin-tipped pointed ears.
She has a tattooed symbol of Kuon on her ankle, a ring of lilies tattoo on her waist, and a slender silver hoop in the upper ridge of her left ear.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a woven-willow herb basket in her right hand.
She is wearing a simple silver chain, a verdant green linen cloak, a dainty jade green spidersilk herbalist-pack clasped by delicate twining ivy, a burnished ivory leather corselet, and a long black leather skirt.
look cloak
This cloak has been cut of the finest linen. The subtle shading of green is reminisce of lush plant life at dusk. Expertly crated to fit the curves of the wearer's body, each seam has been stitched with a glistening amber thread to make a winding pattern of a variety of tiny herbs. Alternating cothinar blossoms and sovyn cloves circle the neck and a single golden leaf slipped through a carved amethyst forms an elegant clasp.
>look cor
Small half-open blossoms have been embroidered in heavy, almond-hued thread around the edges of the ivory leather corselet. The center of the corselet bears an inset pattern of amber fireflies, which are accented with traceries of golden thread, causing some of the fireflies to look brighter and stand out more against the ivory background than the others do. Slim gold-threaded cords lace the corselet up the sides. You also notice a small enchanter's mark. (5x doubles given to me by a great friend)
>look skirt
The supple black leather of the skirt has been slit to the knee on each side to allow better range of movement. A thin, green lining of softened and gathered linen can be spied inside the skirt, left free from the skirt hem so that it moves with the wearer and protects the legs from scratches and bruises. (I still am not happy with this alter, I know what I want to be, but for some reason could not get it across to the merchant, any ideas on how to make them it better?)
And I need to find the right shoes, poor thing is gonna get frost-bite if she hasn't already!
~~the other K~~
ooo and I almost forgot my favorite alter of all.
>look basket
>
Iridescent ribbons of amber and green are carefully intertwined throughout the thin willow limbs. Deep brown muslin lines the inside of the basket, obviously to keep its contents fresh by keeping out the air. A deep green-veined faenor leaf serves as a clasp to secure the lid when closed. Engraved in a flowing, delicate hand, a small inscription upon the clasp reads, "Merjinia Dyshun - Rangerpuff".

Uh, I, very rarely If ever make a gender joke. Nor are they anything like Edaarin's. If you would like to prove otherwise, then feel free.
However, I find it extremely funny that you would claim a list of colors would save your life.

It's a figure of speech. But you're right, men and women never *will* understand each other until men become smart enough to understand these allusions to serious matters that women make (i.e, saving of a life) to convey a level of gratitude to someone who has done them a favor. So yeah, not gonna happen:P

---> Back on topic! Uni's outfit for today. It's so demure and virginal. She must be up to something.
She is holding a lily-enameled sapphire satin fan in her left hand.
She is wearing a lustrous pure white lily tucked behind one ear, a powder blue satin kirtle fastened down the floor-length sleeves with ivory buttons, and a pair of soft alabaster slippers.
Show on the fan:
Ornately carved ivory forms the slats of this elegant fan. Banding each artful rib together is a swathe of fine aquamarine blue satin that shimmers slightly as the light reflects of it. The shadowy outline of masked blades can be glimpsed though the sheer fabric. Contrasting the rich ocean blue backdrop, an intricate white lace adorns the top of the fan. In a matching pure white hue, delicate lilies have been painted upon the satin, making the fan's face itself resemble a bouquet.
It was a gift from a friend that I treasure so much. Even though most of the design was mine.

She has a green wisp of smoke tattoo on her thigh.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a finely polished silver mirror in her right hand.

I love that dress, I've seen it before thinking no one could possibly find the right accessories for it. But you did it so well! I adore that blingin' look.
Jacina's out hunting on Teras, so I have her in a sorta simple, yet colorful attire.
You see Lady Jacina Purplehart the Woundtender.
She appears to be a Loenthra Elf.
She appears to be in the spring of life and taller than average. She has enchanting amethyst-hued eyes and flawless fair skin. She has waist length, tendriled chestnut hair falling in gentle waves about her hips. She has finely drawn features, and a long slender neck with a delicately defined collarbone.
She is in good shape.
She is holding an elegant malachite mirror inlaid with pearl and emerald leaves throughout the surface in her right hand.
She is wearing a fine silver-brushed tiara, a pearl-clasped verdant brocade cloak, a pearl-inlaid silver locket, a soft linen chemise, a flared evergreen silk gown, a malachite and pearl promise ring adorned with emerald leaves, a linked silver dragonstalk waistchain, a tooled forest green leather pouch edged with small emeralds, and a pair of low-heeled satin slippers.
The chemise show:
Designed from delicately woven linen in a natural ivory hue, this chemise is cut for a perfect fit. An intricate chain fits snugly around the waist, then dangles to the scalloped hem. Over the right shoulder is a filigreed broach holding the fabric in soft pleats. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
It is my pride and joy. 5x padded doubles. But as far as IG is concerned, it's an undergown.
Oh and I realize she is wearing possibly two chains because one is on the chemise, but we'll say that one holds her coin purse, which is very empty. Because Teras is being lame right now. :sniffle:
Heh, I remember when Menos found those doubles. I never got to see what they were altered into. Nice!

You see Edaarin Ariter.
He appears to be a Human from Selanthia.
He appears to be in the spring of life and tall. He has intense deep blue eyes and tanned skin. He has short, tousled light brown hair. He has a clean-shaven face, a classical nose and broad shoulders.
He has a tattooed symbol of Jastev on his arm, a golden key tattoo on his finger, and a tiny bloodjewel stud in the upper ridge of his left ear.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a golvern hafted steel hatchet in his right hand and a massive dark steel shield in his left hand.
He is wearing an ancient steel warhelm, a selanthan bloodjewel earring, a stygian wrought iron armcuff, an imperial infantry baldric with a thick black blade secured to it, a black gold-buttoned pack, an imposing stygian forged hauberk wrought of dark steel, a high-collared black silk shirt, an engraved gold potion flask, an infinity sigil-twined belt, some finely-tailored black pants with polished gold buttons, a small locksmith's anklepouch, and a pair of tall dark steel-plated military boots studded with dull iron rivets.

I designed 0 of the following alters. Shouldn't be hard to tell who I got the majority of them from.
Anyway, here's the show on ones that have them.
>a high-collared black silk shirt
Flawless combed Selanthian silk and masterful tailoring combine to create a smooth, rich fabric and fit. The shirt's high collar is secured with a golden chain and clasped with a silver dagger. The long, billowing sleeves taper off into cuffs, held snugly about the wrists with a pair of golden cufflinks. Embroidered on the right breast pocket is a tiny gold lockpick, indicative of the wearer's trade.
>a massive dark steel shield
On the reverse of the shield, a complex webbing of oiled leather straps and polished buckles forms an intricate arm harness. The straps are arranged in a pattern that appears able to secure a weapon within. This massive shield is wrought of the finest steel, dyed a gloomy, forboding hue of black. Two long, arcing, wickedly-barbed spikes protrude from the top of the shield and the plates that make up its surface form razor-sharp edges. A circle of thirteen flawless cabochon bloodjewels are set in silver at the precise center of the shield.
>an ancient steel warhelm
Forged of tempered steel, this helm almost appears to be as sleek as it is foreboding. An intricate, primal design of traced iron has been inlaid in sweeping arcs along the edges of the slanted, narrow eye slits. The dark steel rivets, which surround the base of the helm appear to have been sharpened, quite possibly to be used as a malicious weapon in close quartered combat.

Actually chemises aren't even all that body-flattering. Most of them are usually embroidered (if you're rich) cotton, linen or wool...resembling mumus. They have absolutely no shape to them and were worn over pantaloons as sort of a modern day bra and underwear, if I'm correct.
Usually at night women would wear them to sleep in, if you could afford ladies in waiting to undress you from the layers and layers of clothes you would wear in the morning.
In GS, chemises seem to be more of the cheap Ren Faire idea of them. I'm fairly sure that even peasants had more layers than Ren Faire girls, who seem to think that wearing a chemise and a thin vest-bodice puts them in the correct period clothing. But, whatcha' gonna do? It covers everything, and with the Ren Faire example before them, they're not gonna change it.

You see Linsha Sinti the Tormenter.
She appears to be an Illistim Elf.
She appears to be very young and tall. She has tilted azure-limned pale green eyes and ivory skin. She has very long, silky mahogany hair that is parted in the center and highlighted a deep red while several wispy tendrils frame her face and tumble to her hips. She has long, gracefully pointed ears with a slight bend at the tips. She has full, softly curved pale pink lips.
She has a pair of hooked silver spikes tipped with glittering feystones set along the slender tips of her pointed ears, and an ebon-studded silver half-ring in her lip.
She is wearing a beaded onyx component's satchel clasped with a diamond trimmed flask, a silver-edged staff harness, a blood-red thorned rose stickpin, a silver-chased moonstone locket, a marble dagger pierced heart symbol, a fleece lined dark brown coat with a double row of silver buttons, a suit of shiny curvaceous dark leather, a tightly fitted velvet tunic, a leather saddlebag style hip-satchel, a fine silver mesh handflower, a gold-threaded scarlet gem pouch, some soft pale ivory cashmere pants, and some braided open-toed sandals.
The only show I have is the tunic. I know what I wanted but it's not exactly right either.
Velvet the color of pale cream has been crafted into a sleek, well-fitted tunic. Hitting at thigh-length, the tunic has a deep neckline that is laced through tiny silver eyelets with a slender rosy pink ribbon. Fluffy cockatrice feathers dyed a myriad of colors ranging from deep amethyst, to a pale violet mixed with pink of all shades have been sewn onto the sleeves, completely encircling the wrists with color.
I can't stand the black satchel but I need a new container, and I didn't have the time to look before playing dress up.

She is wearing a simple black onyx hairpin, a flowing black silk longcloak, a slender ruby-encrusted choker, a fitted crimson silk bodice, an embroidered ebony silk satchel, a floor-length crimson silk skirt back-laced with black silk cords, some matte black satin slippers and a tattooed symbol of Eorgina.
And this is the gown I just got approved to have made by Sadie:
A daring dark crimson satin gown
Show: The dark crimson satin of this gown is overlaid with loosely woven onyx gossamer netting. It is cut low in the front and in the back, with off-the-shoulder straps of sleek satin made to rest lightly on the upper arms. The bodice fits tightly through the waist where the very full skirt of the gown flares out and falls all the way to the floor. There is a large ruffled flounce caught in the back by a square-cut ruby clasp.

K! I so love that gown design. I wanted to use a bloodjewel to do something beneath a plunging back line but decided to just bead the straps of a gown with it instead. But I so love the clasp idea.
So Jacina came back to Vaalor and I got to change her outfit.
You see Lady Jacina Purplehart the Honorary Guard.
Etc.
She is wearing a pair of blue diamond earrings, a pearl adorned diamond choker, a pair of long ivory linen tippets, a textured cerulean silk gown trimmed with seed pearls, a pearl-inlaid carved ivory fan, some long indigo stockings, and a pair of ivory laced satin slippers.
Gown is Nalea.
Show on the choker:
Diamonds threaded on silver chain create the entwined loops of the choker. Seven short lengths of chain extend down the front of the necklace, each ending in a polished white pearl.

Hmm. Well ok...add something else to my attire.
an antique pearl-inlaid ring
This delicate engagement ring is formed from bright and unblemished silver. Set into the metal is a series of leaves carved from white pearls. The natural contrasts in the pearl used for the faces of each leaf are wonderfully set to bestow the impression of depth and layers to the image as if it was a tiny iridescent wreath. Darkened vines etched into the silver flow between the leaves before they join together and form the setting for a solitary diamond.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Menos Relarem, Jacina Ar'Cormia

Okay, deep breath. Remember Wezas, this is for your own good.
1. Five lines maximum, plz.
2. I counted nine pins/talismans. This doesn't include the other jewelry items. If I count THOSE, it makes eleven. Too many, my dear, Liberace has no place in Elanthia.
3. I see several themes here. We have a pirate theme, a dapper theme, and then some other random stuff. Combined, they make a theme I like to call, "WTF?!?!"
4. A mask AND an eyepatch? AND spectacles? No wonder you lost an eye.
5. WTF are hollow wooden blocks? Is this some kind of wearable ninja-weapon I'm unaware of? In any case, if you must have it, you don't need to wear it.
6. I am a firm believer that armor should be removed when not hunting and replaced with something more suitable. Plenty of people don't like this, so it's just a tiny suggestion.
Here are my suggestions for these great things called "outfits."
Outfit One, The Pirate Guy:
You see Wezas.
Bla bla.
He is wearing a braided blond ponytail (kind of weird considering you can still change your features in the tents, but if you must), a black eyepatch, a red glaes spider charm a (some kind of shirt, or leather when you must), a silver-tooled wrist sheat, some black silver-edged breeches (I give you points for these, because they're versatile), a soiled loot sack, and a peg leg.
Question: Where are your shoes? Unless they're the BLOCKS? Oy.
Outfit Two, Dressy-ish:
You see Wezas.
Bla bla.
He is wearing some gold-rimmed spectacles, a sovyn clove talisman, a violet-trimmed spidersilk vest, some dapper black leather suspenders, a (shirt of some sort), a pair of sapphire studded gold cuff links, a pouch-lined golden imflass greatbelt, some black silver-edged breaches, and for the love of all that is good and pure, some kind of black boots. Not blocks.
Outfit Three, Ready to Kill Stuff:
You see Wezas.
Bla bla.
He is wearing a drake-winged silvery ora helm, a screaming zombie pendant, a silk-threaded black stave harness, some double leather, a silver tooled wrist sheath, some soft leather gloves, some black silver-edged breeches, and again, not blocks on the feet. How do you run after shit wearing blocks? I'm really horrified that these might be shoes.
A few end notes: Amulets are a bit passe. Only wear them when necessary. Sacrifice your soul to join CoL if you must. You only need one Sovyn item. While a piece or two of boxfound jewelry can compliment an outfit, yours says, "I put on every piece I find." The gem pouch is v. girly. Something in leather would go with either the dressy outfit or the hunting outfit.
Of course, I'm a bit anal when it comes to all this, so fell free to laugh at my suggestions and tell me to stfu. Wezas.

Mother Fucker.
Had this long ass reply and clicked to quote something just as I realized I lost all I just typed. So if I sound short it's because I'm tired of typing :P
1) I'm an empath, surely there's a waiver
2) Yes, I wear everything I pick up if it looks nicer then what I already have on that part of the body. I now realize that I have not taken a pin off when I find another pin.
3) The peg leg and eye patch aren't so much a pirate theme as they are RP tools for my healing. I wasn't really going for a certain "theme"
4) All RP tools, but now I realize that when people look at me, I look rediculous.
5) They're the kewlest! Dey go on my feets! I strap them to the bottom of my feet and clop around. DianaBanana is jealous, because she wants to juggle with them on.
6) I tend to piss people off easily. Well, mainly because I *try* to irritate them. So there really isn't an "armor down time" for me.
I'm in COL, sign of thought will not put you directly on the black channel, you need an amulet to turn. As for boxfound jewelry, see #2. WTF, Gempouch girly? I keep my cursed gems in there for thieves to target.

Want Proof? Before she got to Marclar, he wore 20 million different pins, 3 amulets, and everything was just all out of order. What has become of him now? Look for yourself:
You see Marclar Tulari the Hexer.
He appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Illistim.
He appears to be young and untried and tall. He has silver-flecked crystal blue eyes and tanned skin. He has short, spiky silver hair sticking up wildly on top, while carefully trimmed around the ears and base of his neck. He has a square-jawed face, a small nose and slightly pointed ears. His face is shadowed by the deep hood of his robes.
He has a fiery scarlet ruby stud in the upper ridge of his left ear.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a dark-grained faewood staff scorched in a ruby-tipped flame pattern in his right hand.
He is wearing a close-fitting black felt skullcap with red leather whipstitching, a grey stone Eorgina amulet, a stylized ruby flame symbol, a grey moonstone talisman, a shimmering glaesine orb, a dove grey silk sash, a pair of black flame-embossed gloves, a flame-inlaid dark silver censer, a thin silver filigreed black belt, some silk-lined black leather pants, an elegant black silk gem pouch, some floor-length grey robes with stylized red flames emblazoned along the hem, a shadowy black silk stalking cloak emblazoned with stylized red flames, a black silk climbing pack, and a pair of tall silver-clasped boots.
Now that's a Sexa Sorc!! You too can be a sexa beast man. Take her advice. I'm not only her brother, I'm a client too!!

I'm glad my teachings have stuck with you, Marclar, but you need to get rid of that freakin' orb. Jaysus. Marclar comes from a more well-to-do family than that, he doesn't have to wear some item of fluff that anyone and their mom can get their hands on. Geez!
Wezas, you are a gracious taker of fashion criticism. I applaud your stoutheartedness. Being an empath is not an excuse - look at Merjinia! She's an example to empaths everywhere.
If you still want to wear all your pins and shit, get a sash that stores them for you. That's what I had to make Marclar do.

My little bug.
You see XXXXXX the Empath.
She appears to be an Aelotoi of the Mrae'ni Clan.
She appears to be youthful and shorter than average. She has tilted dark hazel eyes and ebon skin. She has short, glossy dark blonde hair with lighter streaks. She has a triangular face and slender wrists. She has a pair of pale green wings.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a gold-frogged cashmere coat, a five-strand twisted amber necklace, a delicate pale linen chemise, a jewel-hued patchwork silk handbag, an amber-beaded cream-colored skirt, and some beaded reed-soled sandals.
I bought some from the Four Winds boutique, and the Bluefinch in Frost over in Haven. I think she's darling.

One of my favorite dressed characters (he's actually missing some of his alters, because I lightened him for hunting worms)
You see Lord Kid Uberpath the Butcher.
He appears to be a Dwarf of the Khanshael.
He appears to be young. He has bleary ale-brown eyes and ebon skin. He has long, coal black hair worn in a ponytail. He has a weathered face, a broken nose and a thick neck.
He has a small black skull tattoo on his arm, and a long black beard.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a horned skull helm, a yellowed bone neck guard, some sharpened bone studs, a crude bronze tribal totem, a black V'Tull symbol, a green toadstool pin, a Khanshael chain shirt, a rough leather cloak, a heavily scarred backpack, a bleached kobold skull, a worn butchers field kit, a tribal pelt tube, a blackened knucklebone-linked belt, and some rugged leather breeks.
> look helm
The helm is carved from very fine scrimshaw in the shape a horned skull, and the inside is reinforced with a metal and lining. One of the horns has been broken off, leaving a twisted stump and both are tinted a dark brown. In the center of the skull's forehead, the symbol of V'Tull is branded into the boney surface.
> look studs
Fashioned from small bones of some unfortunate creature, these bone studs have been sharpened to pierce the earlobes of their wearer. Yellowed with age, the prominent side of each stud has been worn smooth, as if repeatedly rubbed over the years.
> look totem
Suspended from a chain of linked bronze, a single blue-black stone has been placed in the center of a small ivory disk, charcoal etched rays of darkness emanating from the center stone. Tiny animal figures have been crudely drawn circling the center stone, performing an odd dance of worship. The back of the totem has been painted a deep crimson, and a scimitar drawn in charcoal is evident. A tiny silver latch covers the compartment in the back, meant to secure the powering amulets in place.
> look cloak
This cloak if cut from rough leather and reinforced at the elbows. Stamped into the leather is an image of a dwarven empath holding a warclaidh, kneeling at the crimson altar of V'tull. (outdated, he's using a runestaff now)
> look backp
Crafted of a thick black leather covered with many deep slashes, this backpack is quite worn and faded. Tiny shards of yellowed bone cover its surface, each haphazardly positioned to create an almost tribal appearance. Set precisely in the center of the backpack's cover flap is a heavy steel disc, its surface blackened by fire. Etched deeply into the charred device is a crimson scimitar, its jagged edges embellishing the prominent symbol of V'tull.
> look kit
Crafted of a thick black leather the kit is marred with a number of slashes and stains of a dubious origin. A dwarven Khanshael clan symbol is created from a pattern of shattered yellow bones across the face of the kit. The clasp of the kit closes on a heavy steel disc, blackened by fire. Etched deeply into the charred disc is a crimson scimitar, its jagged edges prominently reflecting the symbol of V'tull.
> look tube
This tube has been carved from a solid mammoth tusk, the ivory top hinged with rough strips of blackened leather. A piece of obsidian carved into the shape of an altar has been set into the tusk, a crimson scimitar etched on it. In charcoal black paint crude animals are shown being sacrificed before the altar. Scratched beneath the altar are the words "In V'tull's name."
> look breek
These breeks have been dyed a soft brown, the leather oiled religiously to maintain the soft suppleness. Rough animal shapes have been painted upon each leg in charcoal black, doing little to hide the burns and stains from many years of use. Upon the left leg, a scimitar has been embroidered in faded crimson thread.
Some of his rp stuff here
You remove an ancient scroll from in your linked belt.
> read scroll
In the Common language, it reads:
Clearly scribed on the scroll are the words; V'tull is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, the helpless, the miserable. They find not only sanctuary in His arms, but also a kind of superiority, soothing to their macerated egos; He will set them above their betters. I fear V'tull, and I have ceased to fear mortals. Bow down to his might and glory.
In his butchers kit -
a scorched bone-covered ledger set with a thin deathstone spine
a deathstone encrusted flask trimmed with broken orc and troll bones

This is Lysistrata's relatively new hunting outfit. I didn't make all the alterations on here, my friend Cassie made the longcoat but gave it to me when she stopped playing.
Yes, Lysistrata does wear pants occasionally. She is infinitely practical. I hate having her wear all black (too stereotypical for Nalfein), so it's nice and lightened with browns.
You see Lady Lysistrata Scio.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to be young and average height. She has cunning, mismatched grey and black eyes and ivory skin. She has long, lustrous deep scarlet hair that falls nearly to the ground, with a dainty curl at the tips. She has a delicate, refined face and a generous mouth.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a brilliant diamond stud earring, a knee-length mahogany suede longcoat, a high-collared sleeveless sable linen shirt, a black vaalin elven signet ring, a pair of slim black sharkskin pants open-laced up the sides, and some tall chestnut suede boots.
Longcoat:
Soft, well-kept suede has been dyed a dark mahogany and lined with thick matte black silk for comfort. Three straps cross the front of the longcoat from chest to waist, fastening it with frosted steel buckles.
(Edited to add the show on the longcoat.)

Alright, I'm going to be strong and refrain from half the items there simply because I'll wear them once and forever take up room in my already-limited locker space.
If you could, I would like...
a pair of long citrine drop earrings
a thin-strapped coral silk sundress
and the very-popular five-strand twisted amber necklace.
Let me know how much the total is Prae and I'll hook you up.
Love you!
This is Lysistrata, fresh from the Dhu. With a new feature, no less. Everything but the slippers, is new.
You see Lady Lysistrata Scio.

She appears to be young and average height. She has cunning, mismatched grey and black eyes and ivory skin. She has long, lustrous deep scarlet hair that falls nearly to the ground, with a dainty curl at the tips. She has a delicate, refined face and meticulously groomed features.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a solid black quartz wrist-cuff shaped like a sharp-tined crown, a zorchar and black quartz ring, a deeply-hooded midnight black longcloak, a strapless alabaster satin dress with a slender floor-length tapered skirt, and some delicate high-heeled slippers.
Ring:
The ghostly pale zorchar has been carefully forged to retain its natural dim glow, crafted into graceful filigree. Solid black quartz provides a background for the filigree and serves to ensure that the zorchar does not touch skin, keeping the wearer from getting inadverantly zapped. Inspecting the pattern for a moment reveals subtle rose designs in the spiral of each filigree curlique.
Yep. I'm in a black quartz phase. I've got a black quartz and zorchar circlet too, but I thought it'd be overdoing the theme to put it with the other two pieces of jewelry. I don't want to beat people over the head with a theme.

Waiting a month for the next run is SO LONG.
Anyway, love the outfit of course, and what prompted you to change your eye color? Though it is nice. I love grey eyes.
Heh, her eye color wasn't changed! It's been mismatched grey and black for over a year now. The new feature is the meticulously groomed part.
Shari
05-26-2004, 03:53 PM
I could have sworn her eyes were dark in color...not specifically gray.
<feels dumb>
The meticulously groomed is nice though. I didin't think they'd allow something like that.
Yeah, the feature alterer was iffy about it, but I explained I wanted something that I could lump manicured fingernails, well taken care of skin, and groomed eyebrows under. You know, all the things I don't even do as a real person, heh... He said yeah, fingernails, skin, eyebrows sounded kind of creepy, so he let the 'features' lump-together slide.
Kitsun
05-26-2004, 04:32 PM
I hope I didn't mess anything up. I saw you getting them done and whispered to you about your manicured features. Don't know if you saw it...
The alterer himself actually whispered back to me heh!
Heh, nope! After you whispered to me, it became suddenly clear that manicured really only refers to fingernails, so I asked him to change it to groomed. Thank you!
And, because I'm so extremely bored while waiting for Paduljax to get to me in line... What Strata's wearing today:
You see Lady Lysistrata Scio.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to be young and average height. She has cunning, mismatched grey and black eyes and ivory skin. She has long, lustrous deep scarlet hair that falls nearly to the ground, with a dainty curl at the tips. She has a delicate, refined face and meticulously groomed features.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a pair of long chandelier earrings trimmed with sparkling emerald beads, a timeworn faenor Nalfein ring, a deeply-hooded midnight black longcloak, a high-collared black satin gown with a front-split overskirt of pleated sheer silk, and some black silk high-heeled slippers.
Ring:
Time has worn smooth and shiny the surface of the ring in most places, showing its many years of use, though the natural appearance of pale verdant veins tinged with evergreen is undimmed. A circle of dark jade has been mounted in the faenor, with a stylized Nalfein rose imbedded in the jade with iridescent carved black pearl petals.
I reeeeaaally need to alter get another cloak. Bah.

She puts it up, heh. I usually picture it braided and wound around her head and tucked under a hat. She's got a rakish feathered cap she wears when hunting alot of the time.
Yes, yes, I realize that it is a highly unlikely hairstyle, completely stereotypical of a fantasy setting, but what can I do? Strata is supposed to be a decorative woman. In her storyline, she's been trained to be an ornamental-looking Nalfein woman (harmless and delicate on the outside, whatever else on the inside) from birth. It's been over three hundred years. I'm sure she's gotten used to the care of it after all this time.
And I promise this is the last time I'm gonna go on this tangent, heh.

A month is SO long...
[Edited on 5-27-2004 by Jesae]
It's been a couple of days. Here's another one.. I know the gown was seen recently on here but with the wealth of accessories I got on the Dhu.. well.. yeah. I need more white-ish dresses.
She is wearing a pair of obsidian-veined glazed porcelain hairsticks, a delicate black diamond choker, a pair of deeply flared long silk sleeves with jagged flame-shaped cuffs, a strapless alabaster satin dress with a slender floor-length tapered skirt, and some delicate high-heeled slippers.
Choker:
Three thumbnail-sized black diamonds, separated by tiny dark ruby beads, are strung on a slender filament of platinum.
The outfit's a little on the long side, I know.. need different sleeves. I love the hairsticks, though. I refuse to part with them. They hold a very small amount, so Strata can carry a stiletto in them. The sleeves are pocketed too. She can be armed all over the place.

Now I just have to figure out a way to make some of my own without totally copying.

I don't want to nitpick the outfit (I like it!), but can someone explain to me how you carry a knife in one of these:

If you cover up the outside of the blade, you can make it look like the hairstick itself. Or more like one of those cane-swords, have the top pull out and let the inner bit be a blade.
Shari
05-30-2004, 06:56 PM
I don't remember what movie it was, but this chick had this really awesome hair ornament (hairstick-type thing) in her hair and it was actually a bejeweled elaborately-handled dagger stuck in a sheath fashioned from a kind of hairstick. It was a tiny little blade but I'm sure with enough force you could stick it through the side of someone's temple, or in the eye.
<thinks to herself, grinning maliciously>

No problem, heh. No doubt, not all hairsticks could do it. But I've seen hairsticks built to hold stilettos before. My boyfriend's grandmother has a pair and they are kind of like those cane swords. The thickest three inches are the handle and goes on for four or five more inches of extremely slender knife. The handle matches the rest of the hairstick. They were made of painted wood, not porcelain, but hey.. it's fantasy.
And blade hidden in these hairsticks could not have any sort of crossguard, not like the modern Italian stiletto that you see for sale in many knife shops.

So, they look like an icepick? That's kind of neat, but I can't imagine that the blade would be very strong if it's thin enough to fit in a hairstick.
Shari
05-31-2004, 03:21 AM
Hehe, I actually have a pair of aluminum hairsticks that are fucking SHARP. If I don't pay attention to what I'm doing I could really slice my scalp open.
Just to be on the safe side, (because we all know what an idiot I can be) my boyfriend ground them down for me and made the tips a little rounded.

Well, it wouldn't have to be. These are a lady's last defense. I got the idea (before I'd seen my boyfriend's grandmother's hairsticks) from this little old lady who used to tell me stories about how she used to use ladies' hatpins to fend off unwanted advances. Keep in mind, ladies' hatpins back in her day were like six inch long needles... She would cackle and tell me that a jab to the crotch would make them think better, heh.
So yeah.. she's not going to take the knife in there hunting. And yes, daggers/stilettos have really crappy breakage. Just a bit of RP.

She has some sleek lustrous onyx rings in the upper ridge of her left ear, and a green wisp of smoke tattoo on her thigh.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a finely polished silver mirror in her right hand.
She is wearing a pair of thin silver barrettes, a dark garnet-hued orchid tucked behind one ear, a tiered silver beaded choker, an elegant black velvet cloak, a silver-bladed midnight black fan, a deep garnet backless damask gown, and some stylish high-heeled sandals.
Anything altered has been shown before. Most of this stuff is off the rack.

Here is my--I can't play for like two weeks what is on top of my Dhu bag outfit:
You see Uniana.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She appears to have come of age and taller than average. She has pale lilac eyes and ivory skin. She has long, silky black cherry-hued hair twisted into loose ringlets. She has a delicate face and thin eyebrows. She has lush carmine-tinged lips.
She has an expansive thistle tattoo on her back, and a thin malachite ring adorned with a tiny obsidian bead in the upper ridge of her left ear.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a tiered silver beaded choker, a slim evergreen silk gown with a long off-center front slit, a modest black brocade wristlet edged in silver roses, a silvery grey ora case, and some ankle-tied ebony silk slippers.
And now I offer a question. When you create an alter idea, you would like it to be original and different, I think. Something suited to your character. Now when other people take phrases or ideas that you had, and change it a bit or not at all, does it make you upset? Frustrated? Flattered? Personally I think it is a sweet thing when someone copies an idea I have used. Just curious as what everyone else thinks.
And my gown is credit of Dex who is queen of the sexy outfits and ideas on the spot.

I need to learn how to dress well off the rack again. Out of the things in my locker (all clothes) I've only got ten that're off the shelf and they're mostly shoes and jewelry.

I'll try to make this quick since this bout of bronchitis is kicking my ass back into bed again. If I sound jumbled and confused it's because of that, heh.
It really depends on who's copying. If it's someone I loathe, then I'd rather rip their eyes out than see them with something like a thing of mine. But I don't loathe too many people out there in the game, so no worries on that. I do get frustrated sometimes, mostly with myself 'cause it's my fault, when I give out ideas to other people and then think how much I liked that idea and wanted it for myself. Like what happened with the quicksilver choker. But that's usually the extent of it.

You see Caiylania E'Leanu.
She appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Ardenai.
She appears to be young and robust and tall. She has sparkling green eyes and tanned skin. She has waist length, wavy auburn hair worn in a single braid. She has slightly pointed ears.
She has a soaring hawk tattoo on her arm, and a raging warhorse tattoo on her forearm.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a slender silver hoop earring, a thin leather hair tie, a crystal amulet, a water-filled filigreed amulet, an engraved sword pendant, an ebon laced leather pack, a deeply-hooded faded brown cape, a dark green cotton tunic, a leather-lined dark vultite hauberk, a rugged leather bracelet with a tiny dangling iron shield, some dark grey finger-armor, a pouch-lined dark leather belt, a wine-colored drawstring bag, a warm brown kit, a sturdy dark leather gem pouch, a pair of soft black leather pants, a plain black leather thigh-sheath, and some tall chestnut suede boots.

Like Dex, I don't mind too much...unless its someone I hate that is copying me. Most of my friends (myself included) usually ask if they mind me slightly copying their idea. (I never make it exactly like someone elses cause I want it to be unique!)
You see Lady Michiko Lawyk the Woodswoman.
She appears to be a Half-Sylvan.
She appears to be in the flower of life and short. She has long-lashed, expressive twilight blue eyes and flawless, creamy skin. She has long, silky raven black hair that flows down her back, curling at the tips to brush against her hips. She has a dainty face, an upturned nose and petite, delicate ears that taper to slight points.
She has a series of intricately etched slender silver rings in the ridges of both her ears.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a pair of thin silver oak hairsticks tipped with faceted black diamonds, a vaalorn and veniom wedding ring, a flowing black dupioni silk cloak clasped with a cluster of silver stars, a long-line black hourglass corset, a flowing skirt made of layered opalescent silks, and a pair of slender black silk sandals with delicate wooden heels.
Kinda long, but I like it.

All of that (minus the ring) is off-the-shelf, from either the Dhu or EG.

Shhh. I was hoping no one would mention that.
Guess who's got a new outfit? Well.. not all of the outfit's complete, but most of it is and I couldn't wait to post it.
She is wearing a delicate black diamond choker, a pair of tight nearly arm-length two-fingered black satin gloves, a hip-length rigidly hourglass-shaped black sharkskin corset, a front-split lustrous black silk faille overskirt with a forked train, a long pleated deep jade silk skirt, and some high-heeled black silk slippers.
It is by far the most er.. exotic (and I mean that in the 'outlandish' way, not the.. bellydancer tone it's come take) outfit that Strata has at the moment. Pretty much suitable only for the most formal occasions. Which I wish there were more of.

LOVE IT.
So I'm thinking of hosting a Tea Party at the Landing Bakery sometime after the next Dhu run so we can all show off our newest outfits and perhaps gossip a bit. I don't know when this is going to be pulled off but I'll make an announcement later down the road so that way people can give input on what time I should set this up so a lot of people will be able to attend.
:grouphug: Yesssss, let us get together and conspire and gossip! I really think there needs to be a ladies' tea society for this sort of thing.
Wasn't Alixi putting together something like that?

She was. The Genteel Society House, I think it was. It was going to have monthly tea parties, I think, but I haven't heard anything about them at all. I remember looking at the membership application and really liking that it asked for an original alteration idea. If anyone sees Alixi in-game.. which I haven't in a while, or knows her IM, give her a bump!

That'd be great! The ladies could sample tea traditions from all over Elanthia. Like, they'd have little tartlets with their tea in Icemule. I've got a bunch of 'premium Nalfein tea' in my locker that fortunately hasn't gone bad yet (I checked!)

I used to have a fucked up Aelotoi with the same situation. I think 3/4ths of the crap on her was horribly disgusting. She used to sit in TSC and lick a slimy green hairball.
Oh and to add....SOMEDAY (yeah, adding to my GS Barbie list) I want to create a colorblind char that is wearing absolutely the most gaudy shit you ever saw. I'm gonna try and collect all of the really bad rolled Darynth alters and put them all over her and have her think she is the hottest thing since sliced bread.
coppery brown is gaudy shit.

She is wearing sparkling alexandrite signet-ring, a bracelet fashioned of alexandrite cubes linked by twined lengths of vaalin, a narrow pale lilac kirtle, and some delicate high-heeled slippers.
Show on the kirtle:
With a square neckline and narrow a-line bias cut, the kirtle is best designed for a slender figure. The last quarter of the kirtle's skirt is trimmed in a broad swath of ivory bobbin lace ending in a part twisted fan headside design.

I have two chars on one basic account, after the Dhu I will likely have to make a 3rd mule char to hold all my shit, but I certainly don't have 80 slots! My empath today:
You see Lady Cylla the Healer.
She appears to be a Faendryl Dark Elf.
She appears to be very young and shorter than average. She has thick-lashed amber eyes and golden brown skin. She has very long, wavy dark brown hair. She has small pointed ears.
She has a tiny red starstone ring in her right eyebrow, a ring of mournblooms tattoo on her ankle, and a tiny firestone ring in her lip.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a petite bouquet of blood red roses bound with a black velvet ribbon in her right hand.
She is wearing some engraved obsidian haircombs, a sanguine crushed velvet gown, some black spidersilk stockings, and some high-heeled leather sandals with chips of black diamonds along the ankle straps.
>look gown
>
This floor-length gown of exquisitely soft velvet is designed to cling to every curve it touches. Shades of deep reds shift in hue as the fabric's folds catch the light. Two narrow straps cross the shoulders and flow seamlessly into the rest of the straight, fitted dress. A single faceted black diamond dangles at the point of the plunging neckline, drawing your eye to its sparkling depths.
>look hair
>
The deep black haircombs have been polished to an exquisite sheen, and hints of color are found deep in the rainbow obsidian, glimpsed as the light shifts over the surface. The top of each comb forms a crescent-shaped arch, and is engraved with the image of delicate mournblooms. Slender teeth draw to a rounded tip, ensuring that they will glide through hair easily.

You are wearing some mithril plated leather boots, some leathery vruul skin trousers, a raven-black vruul skin cloak, a pair of leathery vruul wings, some black-ora inset double leather, a tendril-swept dark vruul skin bag, a large vruul hide back-scabbard, a whorled crimson ruby necklace, a shimmering glaesine orb and a pair of long mithril horns

I'm sure some of the stuff will go...but here's what I have now.
You see Aone the Highwayman.
He appears to be a Human from Jantalar.
He appears to be youthful and average height. He has gold-flecked blue-grey eyes and fair skin. He has shoulder length, tied back blue-black hair. He has a clean-shaven face, a classical nose and a generous mouth.
He has a black vaalorn thorn in his left eyebrow.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing an ebon-hued cavalier hat adorned with a burnished silver griffin feather, a black deathstone amulet, an icy blue pendant, a matte black sniper's long bow inlaid with swirls of vultite, an oddly misshapen quiver, a feystone-eyed vultite dragon armband, a belted black cotton longcoat, a gold ring, a thin lockpick wrist sheath, a plain-looking sack, a deep grey metal kit, a coarse black cotton satchel, a riveted black leather suit-of-plates, and a pair of matte black boots.
Shows:
an ebon-hued cavalier hat adorned with a burnished silver griffin feather
A burnished silver griffin feather falls softly against the side of your hat, accenting it perfectly.
Silver threads have been embroidered along the brim of this stiff ebon felt hat, forming intricate designs. A single large ruby, polished and faceted is set in a brushed silver setting and pinned on the side of the hat. It serves as the perfect spot to hold a plume in place.
an oddly misshapen quiver
Crafted by someone who was either dangerously crazy or dangerously drunk, this quiver is very strange. Fashioned from a ribbed tube of leather that fattens around the middle and comes to a tapered point at the bottom, it resembles nothing so much as a large, fat worm. Near the opening, sharp little teeth have been concocted from bits of rock and stone, as two gleaming chunks of moonstone act as eyes.
a belted black cotton longcoat
Secured with a long belt, this longcoat is crafted from thin black cotton. Deep grey muslin trims the longcoat, embroidered with a mix of lighter grey and black thread. Straps secure the cuffs, allowing them to be tightened around the wrist. The lower left sleeve appears to be padded.
a thin lockpick wrist sheath
Formed from thin black leather, this sheath is designed to inconspicuously house a variety of utensils. A pair of small imprintings adorn the sheath, one of a padlock and the other of a lockpick.
a deep grey metal kit
Made from a deep grey metal, the kit has been treated so as to reflect as little light as possible. A pair of engravings, one of a lockpick and one of a padlock are all that adorn it.
a coarse black cotton satchel
Made from coarse black cotton, this satchel has a variety of pouches and compartments stitched into it. Thin flaps, apparently made to hold files, lockpicks, and other similar objects, line the outside. Inside, a thick layer of leather and silk padding has been added, presumably to cushion any valuables.
a riveted black leather suit-of-plates
Formed of blackened plates riveted to a suit of thick black leather, this suit-of-plates looks able to withstand harsh punishment. A variety of gouges and scratches attest to the strength of the metal. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
a pair of matte black boots
These boots have been crafted of fine leather with a matte black finish applied. Thick black laces run to the top of the boots in a criss-crossing pattern. Despite a variety of scuffs and scratches, the boots appear to be in good condition. A thick plate of steel, also with a matte black finish, covers the toe of each boot.
The Dhu pwnz.

So, as most of you already know, Nalina is my new character. Here is her kickin'ass ensemble.
You see Nalina.
She appears to be a Sylvankind of the Tyesteron D'ahranal.
She appears to be mature and very tall. She has almond-shaped amber eyes and milky white skin. She has waist-length, thick charcoal black hair that tumbles in a wild disarray of loose curls to the small of her back. She has an angular face, a classical nose and slightly pointed ears.
She has an emerald-set sleek onyx ring in her left eyebrow.
She is wearing some exquisite silver earrings hung with a complex chandelier-like web of jet beads, an austere silver collar, an elegant black velvet cloak, a sleek alligator skin corset with external rolaren boning emphasizing its strong hourglass shape, a loose-weave raw linen tote cinched with bell-trimmed satin cords, a long slim black linen skirt, and some slender matte black boots clasped up the sides with minuscule silver buckles.
look collar:
This collar is nothing more than a skinny ribbon of silver sheet that has been hammered, smoothed and polished to a fine gleam. Made to encircle a slender throat, the ends meet with a tiny rolaren padlock, and close examination of the lock reveals that the keyhole has been filled.
I know its passe to wear a collar and totally overdone, but she's a devout Andelas follower and kills by ambushing her prey. I figured instead of riddling her with silly cat alters and tattoos I'd do it the more discrete way.
