Alright, so I just had this done and I gotta show it off. Not bad for an idea I wrote up while in line!

Mhaimeo shows you a sleek black sharkskin corset, which she is holding in her right hand. Fine steel boning gives the corset its shape, ideally suited for a slender Elven figure. Delicate silver tracery swirls along the low-cut neckline and pointed waist, while a small jade and ruby-hued rose blooms upon the back of the garment just to the left of the spidersilk lacing.

Going to my Nalfein of course. :purrs:

Had this done on the Promise this week.


She is wearing an alabaster woolen cape with the hem cut at a dramatic angle from hip-to-ankle, a cowled burgundy chenille sweater, a sinuously curving silver bracelet set with dark moonstones, a feather etched maple case, some fitted alabaster wool trousers and some cuffed wine-hued suede boots.

Boots and bracelet are off the shelf items.

Case: Finely sanded maplewood has been cut into an oval shape and lined with burgundy silk for this elegant case. Deeply etched along the front is an intricate pattern of ivory pearl-inlaid feathers, overlapping each other at the stems in a sinuous design.

Trousers: The finely woven alabaster wool of the trousers features a faint rosette pattern with subtle silver threaded outlining on the petals of each delicate bloom. A dark crescent-cut moonstone fastens the garment at the back and slender pleats at the waist accentuate the curves of the wearer. Cut to provide a close fit, the legs taper at the ankles with small crisply creased cuffs. A satin tag affixed to the inside of the waistband reads, "A Zrenigotham Creation".

Sweater: Dyed a deep wine hue, the finely woven chenille sweater resembles a soft cloud of silk when worn. The deeply cowled neckline gathers in folds of piled silk, providing a subtle accent to the collarbone and bust. Delicate opal beading adorns the scalloped wrists and hip-length hem for an elegant contrast of color. A small satin tag affixed to the inside of the hem reads, “A Zrenigotham Creation”.

ring: This thin silver ring is polished to a mirror-like sheen, its surface as clean as freshly fallen snow. Surrounded by a semi-circle of flame-shaped dragonsbreath sapphires, a single large ruby is set into the metal. The flawless stone is carved to resemble a phoenix rampant.

kirtle: Designed to be worn over another gown, the rich silk of the kirtle is split high at the waist. A short, stiff collar clasps with a simple braided black frog closure, while the chest is left open in a low scooping motion, connecting again just above the bust. The sleeveless armholes are edged in a simple black satin piping, left open to expose the fabric of the gown underneath. Blackwork embroidery runs subtly across the hem of the skirt, depicting crooked cherry trees with blossoms in full bloom.

Here's Lysistrata's outfit for tomorrow. Feelin' patriotic. The ring and choker are Uniana's, the bodice and skirt are mine. Rest is off-the-shelf. Of all of the things Uniana gave Strata when she left, that ring is one of my very favorites.

Ring:
Slim, milky green jade has been carved into a coil to form the ring, inlaid with a sinuous vine pattern in glistening black onyx. Long, slender thorns strike out from the vine, more and more defined until, at the top of the ring, they twine together to form a raised ebon rose.

Corset: This restrictive garment has been sewn from watered black silk and is heavily reinforced with spiral steel boning. The corset extends down over the hips, helping to accentuate the wearer's waist and create an elegant hourglass shape. Thick silk ribbons are threaded through grommets on either side of the corset.

My question is this, where should I go from here?

I'm loathe to alter the gloves into riding gloves, because I don't want the word "riding" to become overly repetitive. I also like the combination of short and slightly long/colored and not colored items. It's a more subtle approach to an outfit, as opposed to beating people about the head with my uber-itemness.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

jacket: A double row of polished steel buttons line the front of the dark red leather jacket. The high collar is stiff, and cut from black leather, which also trims the lower hem. Gently curving seams join the panels of the jacket, accentuating its fitted form and tracing it with faint yet elegant lines.

breeches: The seat of the breeches has been worn smooth and shiny, but is otherwise unadorned.

And.. no colorless items. Blargh. #2 GemStone Fashion Pet Peeve. I'd rather have the color in than the material, as it is in the jacket. Glancing at your character, mine would suddenly be selectively colorblind.

But then, those two things are just me. Lots of people, to my dismay, like colorless items. And um.. Medieval piety-testing martyr underclothes.

Yes, the hairshirt is for mortification of the flesh. But being as she's a religious zealot of Eorgina...it suits her. I tried to have a cilice made the other night to compliment it, but apparently it's on the "ban list" now. Such a shame, I had a lovely description ready.

As for the colorless issue, I suppose it's personal preference. The color is written into the show of the jacket, so it's not truly colorless. But with the 15/15/15 rule, it can sometimes be hard to get both the color, fabric and important stylistic details of a piece into a base description. What I do, is I imagine if I looked at the item, what would be the most striking feature of it to me. On some things it's the color, on others the material, but on the jacket, it's the intended use. I chose to insinuate a color scheme through overall placement instead of repetition.

Choker is an amulet holder:
Wires of copper twine around those of yellow and rose gold to form the three tiers of this flame-toned necklace. The sturdy flat wires are braided into wide plaits, the varying metal tones blending to suggest a fiery glow. Connecting the wide braids are hair-thin wires wrought to resemble dancing flames in delicate tongues of copper and gold. A solid gold clasp fastens the piece, its heft balancing the delicacy of the design.

Corset is just hawt.
Lengths of white silk have been manipulated to create this corset without the use of stays or grommets. Each scarf folds into its neighbor, they layers of overlapping silk creating an ethereal look. The corset is designed to come to two sharp points—one along the neckline and the other directly below—so that although the garment ends just above the midriff, a smooth line elongates the piece.

I guess she needs some anklets, or toe-rings, or something. Hmm...

Everything is simply altered with a long, minus the brigandine, that show is as follows:

Hundreds of tiny leaf-shaped strips of leather hang off the brigandine armor, forming an irregular covering very much like foliage. Ranging from the dusky green of late-summer leaves to the ruddy brown of late autumn, the dangling covering shifts with the slightest provocation, changing the pattern to camoflauge the wearer. The armor beneath can be glimpsed in some parts, showing rigid dusky brown leather studded with tarnished steel. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

She is wearing an elegant choker of silver-linked discs of pure onyx, a close-cut silk-lined beluque trimmed with sable fur, a sleek black sharkskin corset, a silver-bladed midnight black fan, some elegant ermine-trimmed black leather gloves, an elegant onyx marbrinus skirt with fine silver tracery highlighting subtle veins and some black silk high-heeled slippers.

You'll notice my Nalfein is always with a fan. I've been studying fan-speak so I can use it properly. It's also such a good prop. The beluque is a type of cloak. For the record, I know the emerald hairjewels didn't match, but I hadn't bought the hairsticks at the time and I needed something for her hair. It was closest.

I'm just using this comment as a springboard, so don't think I'm singling you out.

I started playing a Nalfein because I've been fascinated by them for a long time. I hadn't rolled her up until now because I was afraid that my RP would constantly be compared to Uniana or Lysistrata, who are often seen to have set the standard for the culture.

I admire them and adore them, not just for what they've done for the culture, but for their fashion sense and excellent RP. My girl is NOT, however, a carbon copy. I take some ideas from Strata and Uniana because I feel they make sense for the character, but she is a unique individual.

All of my characters that I play with regularity are dressed well, in my opinion. It is because of RP for my Nalfein and my human that they change their outfits often, but the other characters are also coordinated with an eye to the aesthetic.

I love Strata and Uniana to pieces, but I wanted to make my own character who is an individual. Just because she's dressed well and is Nalfein doesn't mean she's a direct copy of them.

Definitely agree with you there. Their RP have really defined the culture. I guess what I mean to say is that I'd rather people meet my character and understand her as an individual, rather than just compare her to Strata and Uniana.

Diadem: Slender vines of burnished silver have been twisted and laced into this fragile crown. A remarkable piece of art, the sinuous metal weavings give the diadem an appearance of being windswept, as if the mighty four winds themselves had shaped such a thing.

Partlet: Both sides of this elegant partlet are adorned with slender silk ribbons, allowing the wearer to securely tie the garment under each arm. The front of the partlet is open from upper torso to the high ruffed neckband, where it is clasped with a trio of black pearl buttons. Delicate whitework embroidery in an intricate floral pattern covers the entire garment.

Gown: Sewn from heavy velvet, this elegant gown has been hand-tailored to tightly fit the upper body and has a narrow v-shaped waist cut to subtly accent the hips. Split in the center, the skirt otherwise falls to the floor in graceful pleats, a short oval-shaped train trailing behind. Fastening the front of the stiffly boned bodice, black pearl buttons lead from the low, square neckline to the slender waist.

I wish her tattoo didn't show, but I don't want to clutter up the outfit with a cloak or cape or other shoulder/backworn item.

Gown:
Made of the finest elven silk, this exquisite sylvan-crafted gown clings to the wearer's curves, accenting the hips and legs. The nearly transparent silk is a deep scarlet hue, resembling the core of a flickering flame. Several small intricate ruby beads are strategically placed along the gown so as not to show too much of the body. The hem of the gown is slightly longer in the back, providing a short train that sweeps the floor and small ruby dusted crescent moons are embroidered around the edge.

Ring:
Expertly wrought, the band of this ring is molded to resemble a leaf-like pattern in all the hues of an autumn sunset. Tapping into almost every shade to be found in a flame, from the deepest crimson to the fairest orange, each delicate leaf has been shaded and highlighted with meticulous care. The fiery display winds its way up to a flawless white moonstone, melding itself perfectly into the band as though the ice-like stone supports, rather than battles, the fiery band.

skull: Crafted from the skull of a war griffin, the container is designed for easy access. The eye sockets are sewn over with deep black patches, and the nose is imbedded with dark crimson rubies. The jaw has been stitched shut with dried sinew. Two tiny black hinges and a thin steel latch hold the top of the skull in place. Etched into it are the words, "Stolen Goods Here."

Deep azure blue stitching runs along the bottom hem and the collar of the bodice, detailing tiny oak leaves.

case : This small travelling case has been crafted of sturdy velvet in a rich emerald hue. Numerous compartments trim the inside, each lined in pale blue satin and large enough to hold a number of items. Shimmering lapis blue stitching embroiders the outside of the case, detailing tiny oak leaves, each one tipped in a tiny emerald. A silver latch enameled with a pale blonde acorn provides the means of closing the case.

skirt: This skirt has been crafted from the finest cut of velvet and richly hued with vibrant colors that lend an earthy tone. The lower hem of the skirt is a lush green color blended with the occasional light brown patch, lending an appearance similar to a forested path. As the skirt rises the color gradually changes from green to a rich sky blue hue.

I know the skirt is weird. But I love it anyhow.

Gorget:
The basic design of the gorget follows traditional lines with a nearly chin-high collar to protect the throat and a curving projection partially covering the chest and shoulders. But its sinuous filigree form shows it is meant for decorative use. Half of the faenor is preserved in its dark-veined pale green, interwoven with faenor so blackened it retains only highlights of its usual hue. Together with the filigree pattern, the mix of faenor gives the impression of vivid, unnatural flames.

Doublet:
Simply and elegantly crafted, the doublet is cut to accentuate a sleek form by fitting close from the high collar to the hem that ends at the hips with a sharp point in the front. Long tails extend from the back of the waistcoat, giving it a formal air. Thin black silk cords lace the long-sleeved garment close down the length of the front.

I'd remove the shirt and pants as I don't think you could see them with this armor on anyway, but should I want to stop singing 1014 I'd be pretty much naked.

She is wearing an elegantly tailored dark grey velvet longcoat, some flickering harnessed flame armor, a black linen open-collared shirt, a crown-shaped black ora band, some elegant grey pinstriped breeks, and a pair of tall side-buckled boots.

Too much elegant, but all of the clothing is off-the-shelf, so I make allowances.

Lance:
The vultite of the lance has been bleached to the point of retaining only a hint of its natural blue, the exact hue of the hottest part of a flame. Darkly burnished bronze have been carefully cast in stylized flames flaring up from the base of the lance, spiraling around it towards the tip. Sturdy, blackened ironwood forms the haft with a matching bronze grip sculpted to fit the hands. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

Armor:
This suit of armor appears crafted of ghostly flames, flickering with magically harnessed sonic fire. The helm comes down over the forehead to a point, making it appear as though the fire springs from the point of the third eye and then flows down to form the armor. Wavering red-gold air serves to accent the armor at the joints with intricate filigree, a solid color to anchor the body of the armor as it cycles through all the hues of flame.
(I'm not COMPLETELY happy with the armor, but I didn't want to take up more time, so it may be changed slightly in the future.)

Band:
It is a thin band of smooth black ora with a brushed finish, shaped like a miniature crown. Many long, sharp tines ring the top of the crown with a faintly discolored sheen at the tips that gives the ring a sinister appearance.

In short, yes. Simultaneously in Ta'Illistim and Wehnimer's Landing merchants were run to alter any sonic gear (weapon/shield/armor). Two spots in each town were auctioned off the highest bidder, the other 8 in each town were chosen via spinner. In Ta'Illy we had like 11 people who showed up, so pretty much everyone got work. I think the Landing had about double that show up. The event was held tonight (saturday) at 10pm eastern.

Suspended from the thin helix-twisted pure rolaren chain, a small yet surprisingly detailed crescent moon talisman can be seen. Exquisite scrollwork spirals around the edges of the moon and a single ruby chip, cut into the shape of a heart is placed in the furthermost corner. "My gracious Master, I love you" has been etched in tiny script along the middle of the talisman.

Bracer ( gift from Jaysehn ) :

Like tiny gusts of wind wandering in no particular direction, veins of dark gray swirl about the surface of this flawless ivory piece. The coraesine-like appearance is interrupted by an engraved sigil. Formed of a natural shade of eahnor, it depicts a majestic modwir tree, silhouetted against a fiery crescent moon. A single jade raven perches itself on one of the branches, its head tilted as it gazes into the distance.

In the Common language, it reads:

Wedding band :

Reminiscent of the snowy drifts of the north, the white eahnor band of this ring has been molded to resemble a ring of delicately frozen leaves. Each leaf seems captured an ice-like shell of vaalin. The centerpiece, a pure white moonstone, stands out like a perfect oval of ice surrounded by fiery sylvarraend ruby crescents.

Carryall :

Raw linen, bereft of any dye whatsoever, comprises this sturdy carryall. Several pockets are sewn into the interior to safely hold various herbs and assorted items and a lining of maple-hued satin adds a touch of color. Affixed to the exterior flap is a small leather oval with a modwir tree branded upon it.

Mmm, new stuff from WD. Actually, the only new thing is the hairsticks, obtained for me by a friend. The rest is semi-old. Oh! And I got that 'cunning' out of her eyes (what was I thinking?) and got her widow's peak back, although you can't tell with the hairsticks.

A heavier weave of finely watered silk lines the veil of wispy fabric, giving the ethereal garment a more substantive appearance. An intricately engraved clasp, carved to resemble a pair of tiny wings, fastens the cloak at the shoulder. The brooch is covered with a layer of glittering opalescent moonstone dust that sparkles whenever it catches the light.

Snow white hand-tatted lace stretches across the surface of this small pale grey bag, the design reminiscent of smoke whirling in plumes and eddies. A loop of twisted silk in the same misty hue serves as a handle, attached to the handbag using a series of small vaalin hooks. The loop could be removed easily, rendering the clutch versatile for both day and evening use.

The dense silk of the strapless corset hides all but the outline of the internal boning and stiff leather that gives the garment its shape. Shades of deep maroon along the neck dull and transition to grey towards the middle, and shadows of marbled veins are visible throughout the material. Along the front, mulberry lengths of cord pull the corset tight and silk knots on either side hold it in place. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

This tunic-like garment is made of a fine matte white silk and has been tailored to fit closely to the frame of the wearer. Both the high collar and hem of the kurta have been elaborately embroidered with ophidian designs in malachite-hued thread. The hem reaches to just above the knee, and slits have been made on each side from the hem up to the hip to allow ease in movement.

Hairsticks:
Five slender sticks of eahnor allow firm support to any length of hair and taper to a sharp point to pass easily through elaborate styles. Golden thorned vines slither up the length of the eahnor to reach the intricately carved ruby rose cap, gold touching the petals to define each.

Gown:
Flowing from a slender eahnor choker, the gown's design traces delicate feminine contours to the hips, where it flares dramatically and ends in an elegant train. A pair of slim arm-length gloves of the same fine silk cross diagonally up the chest to be anchored by the eahnor choker, leaving the shoulders bare, while an intricate web design cut from the gown highlights the back.

Ring:
Time has worn away much of the finer details of the engravings upon the ring, but the crest that crowns it remains sharp and clear. Cloisonne enamel brings color to the crest, that of a ruby rose blooming upon an opened black fan.

Edited: Eahnor is naturally crimson or bright red in color, which is why she's wearing flame red slippers.

Deep furrows ride across the surface of this buckler, resembling nothing so much as rough surf washing up along the beach in never ending ripples. Dark tinges of carmine red gleam from the recesses of each hollow, brought into stark visibility by the convex curve of the piece. A band of ruby-traced steel rims the shield in a design that mimics the forked angles of a sword-breaker and no doubt serves much the same purpose.

A large scarlet despanal rests against a dark eahnor backing, the carmine metal amplifying the blood-red hue of the gem. A nearly invisible silver chain serves to suspend the despanal in the middle of the forehead like a third eye.

Falling from a high eahnor-banded neckline to just hit mid-thigh, small golden-hued loops form a tightly linked chainmail kirtle. Red golvern chains lace up the open sides, allowing the kirtle to be either pulled in at the waist for ceremonial occasions, or let out to allow for movement in combat. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

The bandolier is not mine, and alas, cannot be altered to my liking. But it is uber awesome.

a garnet studded steel circlet: The tiny garnets are reminiscent of Eorgina's purifying flames. Engraved along the inside are the words: It is the prerogative of fools and Bards to utter truths that no one else will speak.

a mail-cinched black leather corset: With a flat front and high, short straps, the corset is sleek and long-lined. A thin band of interlocking blued-steel mail rings frames the decolletage.

a low-slung mail sword belt: A polished steel scabbard and a drake-engraved steel scabbard hang from the mail sword belt. The wide band of interlocking blued mail rings is hung with several pouches and strings of beaded stones and crystals.

an enameled steel reliquary: The small steel box has a red glaesine lid, and four enameled sides. Each colorful panel shows a different view of the same high, craggy peak -- a mountain surrounded by winged drakes, a mountain capped with a minaret-spired palace, a mountain bathed in the glow of a blood-red moon, and a mountain from a far off and distant view.

a panniered black wool skirt: Widely panniered, the wool skirt flares at the waist and trails into a leather-trimmed hem. A chain of rough steel bells dangles amongst the folds.

some fingerless musicians gloves: The leather palms of the gloves are worn in and smooth, obviously from hours of being stretched in instrumental practice. At the joining of digit and hand, the fingers of the gloves have been cut off and stiched cleanly with soft thread. This enables the musician to better pluck strings, pound keys and perform intricate fingerings. (These are littered with typos, but hey, I've had them 10 years now, so it's a bit late to worry about that.)

Bodice to go with it:
Crushed deep black velvet has been meticulously cut to fit closely to the torso with strips of dark mistwood added for the boning, creating an hourglass effect. The daringly-cut bustline has been edged with sable cording and a slight ruffle of dark cherry lace peeks out from the top. Wisps of silk have been used for the lacing in the back and are threaded through intricate crystal grommets.

Rest is off the shelf but for the wedding ring.

It's actually, and I was purposefully obtuse in the description, based around the story of Eorgina told in "official" Gemstone documentation.

The mountain is supposed to be that which housed Li'aerion, and the images are captured moments in Eorginian history. So the drake is the earliest legend, moving through Eorgina's establishment of a palace, her exile to Lornon and her abandonment of the mountain compound.

It was the alteration I was most concerned about having done on the WD, to the point where I actually sort of had the shakes when it was my turn in line. I was so afraid they would say no. You know -- religious object, combined with documentation imagery, and a lack of "dark" merchants on the boat. All in all, it turned out well though.

I'm glad you got it done! Dunno why you were nervous, though. Religious objects, and objects referencing IG stories aren't against the rules, I don't think. I go something like that with no problem, a choker documenting Eorgina's change from Drake to Arkati in little intaglio pictures.

Perhaps it's just my past history, combined with a recent spate of refusals in Plat. Back in the day (when I previously played, some seven years back) it was very difficult to get religiously themed alterations. Sometimes it's good that things change!

Oi, it was hard to get ANYTHING back in the day. Same sort of thing happened to me. Played while it was on AOL and never got a single alteration, then quit when it went to the web, came back four years or so later, and now I can't STOP getting alterations.

Wonderfully, things are a lot looser now and it's easier to customize your character to the utmost. I can't wait to see what else you do with Sadryne in Prime (leave Plat behind!) It still makes me (and likely Naessi's player) incredibly smug that Eorgina's followers are some of the best dressed in game.

longcloak--Created of soft mahogany suede, the longcloak is elegantly lined with pale amber silk and is adorned with rich, chestnut-hued buttons. Small yet detailed ivy creeps along the hem, creatively stitched in light, lustrous amber thread. Crafted to fall just below knee length, the finely made garment is beginning to show slight wear at the elbows and along the bottom hem.

I know the band was shown before, but I can't remember if the pauldron was, so...

Several tones and shades of eahnor have been used to form the pauldron, and thick spidersilk straps are meant to secure it to the shoulder. The aishan's head shape, from narrow muzzle to flared ruff, has been distorted beyond even its normal demonic countenance; the wolfish face has far too many sharp teeth and a sinuous jointed tongue serves to curl around the wearer's arm. The demon's eyes are particularly well done, rendered in a range of metals designed to distort a viewer's mirrored image.

Only thing that has a show is the torso-wrap:

The wrap is composed of one long strip of gauzy, slightly yielding green silk of width about a foot and a half. Wound over and over in a loop sized to fit snuggly around the upper two-thirds of a slender torso, the layers lie thickly enough to mimic the density of normal, heavier cloth. Two slender silver pins run vertically through the fabric on each side of the wrap, securing it. The end of the strip is folded down, and is secured by a small, round silver clasp.

Armband:
The armband has been cast in two pieces then put together in an overlapping fashion to hide the hinge and clasp that fasten it to the arm. The grotesque creature depicted on the armband is a twisting of nature, with an over-muscled feline's body, a toothy crocodile's face, and a whip-like scorpion tail.

Each jewel has been carved from pristine sapphires, the deep blue hue of the gems could only replicate the ocean's dark shade itself. Used as ear adornments, the exquisite deep blue jewels are hollowed within the center to reflect the slightest of light allowing them to sparkle and wink brightly.

Locket--Mounted in a fine setting of silver, this opal butterfly glitters with its fiery internal iridescence. Engraved around the outer edge of the locket are the words "Fear not the night, for it is in darkness that hope is born." An "I" fashioned from pure silver has been imbedded in the opal, serving as the body of the butterfly.

Symbol--Suspended in the black diamond, multitudes of tiny moon opal shards twinkle faintly, reflecting light through the symbol's faceted surface. The entirety of the symbol has been edged with pure-white dreamstone, etched with the words "Ronan, Guardian of my Dreams" in an endless circular pattern. Into the black diamond's center, a small silver-edged black steel sword has been carefully inlaid.

A silver-inked tattoo no larger than a halfling child's thumbprint covers the surface of a small patch of raised skin. Glimmering faintly, the raised section clearly defines the silhouette of a rearing unicorn. Five silvery rays, each no more than a quarter-inch long, fan evenly from the center of the mark across the back of the wrist.

Tattoo-(Happened from Ronan, in Icemule)-The tiny comet is outlined with a deep, midnight blue line, and small specks trail off the end of it like a tail. Inked in the center is a stylized silver eye.

Expertly crafted midnight black faenor links are fitted together to offer strong but unrestrictive full body protection. A fine sprinkling of diamond dust sparkles over the deep black background and a single plate shaped to resemble the full moon sits over the heart of the wearer, completing the vision of an Elanthia night sky. Painted in beautiful detail upon the plate is the image of a silver-edged black blade. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

The fabric of this scarf is woven of fine linen. Though simple in design the craftswoman who made this was an artist in her own right. The copper beading takes on an intricate pattern, at first seemingly random, and yet the longer it is considered the more complex and ordered it becomes.

This headscarf show was made by the merchant, I thought it was pretty nifty.

Blending style with function, the corselet is fashioned of umber hued yierka hide. Hammered copper scales have been attached to the hide and flow seamlessly together over the front and back like the skin of a snake. The sides are tooled with an ophidian pattern which slithers around each of the copper grommets that have been laced up with sturdy strips of sinew. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

I had the corselet done by Sukara.

Thin bone periapts craved into the semblance of lizards, birds and rodents have been attached to the varied lengths of fringe that surround the scarf. Linen threads dyed the color of desert copper trace the beige cloth in tribal embroidered patterns familiar to the Tehir.

Hip-scarf was a gift from Ilijah, I sorta... built this outfit around it. :)

This case is constructed of copper and lacquered a deep umbral hue. A painted bronze ophidian pattern borders top and base of the case. On the front of the case circling the latch is an intricately wrought verdigris asp, depicted devouring its own tail.

Starting along the base of the shoulders, long black talons have been inked into her skin, curving over and around to her lower back. Masterfully created to look as if they pierce into her body, the bloodied talons appear to rip cruelly through her flesh. Within the center of the image, on a russet background, a large emerald asp writhes and twines into a complex circle of elaborate knotwork, forming the symbol of Luukos.

This is Hadya's tattoo, redone. I think this one looks much Better.

Hairsticks: Five slender sticks of eahnor allow firm support to any length of hair and taper to a sharp point to pass easily through elaborate styles. Golden thorned vines slither up the length of the eahnor to reach the intricately carved ruby rose cap, gold touching the petals to define each.

Gown: Flowing from a slender eahnor choker, the gown's design traces delicate feminine contours to the hips, where it flares dramatically and ends in an elegant train. A pair of slim arm-length gloves of the same fine silk cross diagonally up the chest to be anchored by the eahnor choker, leaving the shoulders bare, while an intricate web design cut from the gown highlights the back.

Ring: Time has worn away much of the finer details of the engravings upon the ring, but the crest that crowns it remains sharp and clear. Cloisonne enamel brings color to the crest, that of a ruby rose blooming upon an opened black fan.

wrap: Two lengths of flowing silk, dyed a subtle eburnean color, have been loosely stitched together with shimmering silver thread. Tailored so that the multiple layers fall in deep folds of silk, the wrap almost appears pleated when draped over the shoulders and forearms. Delicate lace, a shade lighter in color then the silk, has been stitched along the bottom edge for an added draping effect. (actioned from the WD last year)

tote: A thin layer of diaphonous ecru-dyed lace has been used as an overlay for the tote, and translucent ecru thread stitches the seams and adds to the contrasting colors. Soft jessamy silk forms the underlay for the lace and the narrow wrist straps. A tiny burnished silver clasp secures the tote shut. (actioned from the WD last year)

Teehee. I don't take it negatively at all! I have a few hunting outfits that I am changing in and out of when I hunt, which isn't a priority to me as much as it used to be. Much to James/Stunseed's chagrin, I just don't hunt as much as I would normally in the past because Jolena's role in Gemstone has changed so much in the last year.

When I do hunt, it's during my Lumnis gift and occassionally I'll hunt a few times 3-4 times a week with Stunseed, but that's not that often anymore. I did start a hunting outfits thread though, so I could develop some more ideas and start being able to hunt more often. Right now, she's level 61. I've sat at 61 though for over a month, almost two. I used to level every 3 weeks or so. :(

The easiest way of changing clothing, for me, is to do it the night before or at least whenever I log off for the day. That way, when I next sign on, Lysistrata is ready to go in a new outfit (in case someone out there is keeping track, I know they are!!) without any hassle.

My main character changed from Summer to winter... and then again when she got a new bodice alter done.

I keep the sortautohead thing going, she's not a wall of text in her outfit, but I can't be bothered, personally, to spend that much time at my locker.

But if that many outfits make the game fun, go for it!

In all honesty, it's not that much time at a locker. I, like many others who have so many outfits for their characters, have a spreadsheet that took a long time to document but now makes my life very simple. I just go to the spreadsheet, pick out what I want to wear based on season (and yes I have it seperated into season/casual/formal/hunting), get what I need from the appropriate locker body (who's already documented on the spreadsheet so there's no hunting it down), change and return the outfit Jolena took off to it's rightful place. The end. It really only takes around 15 minutes if I do it that way.

I put out a plee on the official boards for some help, and Charna was graceful enough to reply. I'm amazed at what she did, her talents are terrific. She is wearing a dark-hued vaalin leaf collar, a gauzy ginger sylvan surcoat, a petal-pattern quilted linen corsage, a full-skirted claret chainsil bliaut with ginger banded funnel sleeves, a series of rowan bangles inlaid with carnelian iceblossoms, and a slender tapestry weave girdle.

a petal-shaped soft organza handbag ~ Quadruple paneling gives the dainty handbag a lively feel that is further enhanced by the delicate embroidery at the bottom, which causes the petal-cut pieces to curve gently upward. Crisp ginger-hued organza creates a warm overlay that is pinned in place by carnelian beads cut to resemble tiny dewdrops across the body of the piece. A drawstring of braided claret and ginger chainsil is fitted through a thin sheath at the opening and doubles as a wrist-loop that is knotted to keep the ends from fraying.

A gauzy warm ginger sylvan surcote ~ Sheer organza is layered with gauzy silk to form a free flowing sylvan surcote dyed a spicy ginger hue. Gently tailored pleats allow the garment to fall unfettered from the narrow shoulders, past the sleeveless armholes to the claret iceblossom embroidery at the ankle-length hem. Carnelian nodules, left smooth and natural, add colorful character to the left and right opening, and are purely ornamental.


A petal-patterned quilted linen corsage ~ Trimmed in delicate chainsil piping at the sleeveless armholes and scooped neck, the durable corsage is double quilted for colder weather and fashioned of a rich claret linen. The garment displays a rounded petal quilting crafted of warm ginger threads and accented with miniscule carnelian beads set at the tapered point of each petal. The blossom shaped eyelets that run the length of the back are fitted with claret cords designed to secure the garment snugly in place and are capped in carnelian periapts.

A slender tapestry weave girdle ~ Slender in width, and extra long for a double wrap, the fine linen girdle is edged in twin ties designed to dangle freely at the hips. Each slender tie is set with rowan periapts carved into delicate blossom around a nucleus of glittering carnelian. A myriad of ginger hued threads comprise the principal pattern of the tapestry weave along the girdle’s face, and are accented by rich claret and niveous threads that form the image of an interlocking iceblossom chain.

There are three more additional items I do need to complete this lovely set they would be.
A linen-strung carved rowan iceblossom ~ Slim strips of claret-hued linen form a delicately braided chain with tiny carnelian beads set at even intervals along the length, while a carved rowan iceblossom is strung from the center. The wood is left natural so that each petal is palest at the edge and dark where the chocolate brown grains converge on the carved nucleus. A large carnelian bead is fitted through a simple loop hasp near the back to secure the piece in place, and is carved with a chain-wrapped heart.

Fine, matte silk forms this petite, exquisitely tailored midriff-style jacket. The sleeves are long and split down the back from the elbow, causing them to flare faintly. Ornate lacing fastens the jacket from the low standing collar to the hemline, cut to come to a sharp point in the front.

Ring:
The ring is a thick, flat band of brushed black vaalin with a stylized rose intaglio etched into the surface, each petal realized with precision. A smooth, tear-shaped scarlet despanel sits at the edge of one petal, shining like a drop of fresh blood against the contrasting blackness of the setting.

Lightweight silk has been custom-tailored and dyed a deep perse in color for the jacket and four engraved silver clasps adorn the garment from midriff to hem. A soft layer of satin lines the inside while the long sleeves taper to a v-shaped point at the wrists. Translucent embroidery adorns the edges of the sleeves and a deep hip-length slit has been included on each side of the jacket to provide slight flares and accent the figure when worn.

Pants:
Casual and lightweight, these form-fitting pants are designed to ride low upon the hips and fasten at the back with a small silver clasp. Featuring flared ankles, the garment is designed for ease of movement as well as fashion and sport a small third-inch side-slit just at the hem of each pant leg.

The surface of the gold band is polished to a beautiful mirror finish. Wrought to look like the flame-engulfed body of a wyvern, the band is designed to curl around the finger of the wearer snugly. Serving as the setting for an intricately faceted crimson blazestar, the majestic wyvern's head holds the stone in its maw. The brilliant gem glimmers in the faintest light, creating a soft, warm glow like a tiny ember.

I still really, really, really love that choker. Be harder to get something like it now, I gather, due to the new rule against using magic woods in mundane item alterations. I had no idea of this rule either, and got a couple things done before I found out.

She is wearing a darkly lacquered flat lor headband, a full-length sanguine suede longcoat, a fine white cotton shirt ruffled with lace at the wrists, an eahnor-swept silver lor bangle, a pair of tight black leather pants, and a pair of tall side-buckled boots.

Longcoat:
Dyed a deep blood red hue, the suede is cut to cling close to the torso before falling straight down from the waist. High slits slice the coat from thigh height in the back and at the front of each hip. Tiny close-set, star buttons fasten diagonally from the left shoulder to right hip with matching buttons running down the top of each sleeve from the shoulder.

Bangle:
Naturally silver-hued lor has been carved into a domed bangle bracelet and given a glassy sheen with a thick layer of lacquer. Brilliant red eahnor provides a stark contrast to the neutral tone of the wood, inlaid in a line right down the middle of the bracelet. The centralized line bleeds like an open wound, rivulets of scarlet tracing their way down each side to pool and form a metal lining on the inside of the bangle.

The headband's just a short-long and the shirt, pants, and boots are off the shelf.

She appears to be very young and tall. She has sapphire-hearted glacial blue eyes and alabaster skin. She has long, silver-undertoned pale blonde hair side parted to sweep across the forehead and back into a neat chignon. She has a bony face, a classical nose and narrow pointed ears.

She is wearing a near-black vaalin temple coil, twin web-linked vaalin wire chokers, a wispy smoke grey gossamer cloak, a patterned viridian silk corset, a stiffly pleated charcoal silk dress contrasted by verdant satin hidden between the creases, and a pair of thin dark green slippers.


Temple Coil: Small chips of smoky glimaerstones dot the darkened vaalin cable at evenly spaced intervals, set perfectly flush with the surface of the nearly black metal as to blend in both hue and texture. The cable extends backward from a v-shaped point to curve around the ears, concluding in a gently tapering spiral on either side of the face.

I can't remember if I've shown my chokers...
Two thin silver vaalin wires rest three inches apart, held perfectly parallel by a close-weave mesh of matching hair-thin vaalin wire. Set into the webbing at seemingly random intervals are tiny white opals, their iridescent surfaces adding a bit of color to the choker. The opal-free areas are long and slender, running horizontally across the neck like fingers closing in a choking embrace.

I have enough grey dresses to last me like a week of changing now. This is one of my favorites.

She is wearing a cascading silver stranded necklace, an onyx-veined jade marbrinus wrap, a sleek faenor-boned crocodile skin corset with a faint verdant sheen, a pair of slender black satin incanting gloves with silver sigils and clasps, a thin-bladed shadowy black fan, a smooth vaalin signet ring, an elegant onyx marbrinus skirt with fine silver tracery highlighting subtle veins, and some slender black leather poulaines.

Ring: Time has worn away much of the finer details of the engravings upon the ring, but the crest that crowns it remains sharp and clear. Cloisonne enamel brings color to the crest, that of a ruby rose blooming upon an opened black fan. (Never takes it off, of course.)

Poulaines: Fluid lines trace the seams of each shoe, highlighted by fine teardrop piercework. Low heels of glossy ebon mithglin extend the silhouette, further accentuating the tapering pointed toes.

Lined with a layer of ivory satin, the buttery soft suede of the handbag is accented with ebony beadwork along the seams. An elaborate trio of onyx-carved lilies with ivory-threaded stems graces the front, and twin sanded bloodwood crescent-handles clasp the bag closed. "A Zrenigotham Creation" is etched in scrollwork lettering along the inside of one.


Sweater: Woven from soft ivory cashmere, the sweater is tailored with a subtly draped scoop neck and long sleeves, which end in a scalloped hem just past the wrists. Intricate knotwork in a darker shade of butter cream silk thread adorns the hip-length hem as well as the scallops of each sleeve, and opal beading is interspersed to create a shimmering effect in light. A small satin tag, affixed to the inside of the neckline, reads "A Zrenigotham Creation".

Skirt is an actioned altered skirt from a shop on FP.

The sheer material drops to the ankles in soft pleats, the folds of which are of a subtly lighter hue than the rest of the garment. Spiraling elemental runes have been embroidered in a fine silver thread along the cuffs of the open sleeves, their points nearly touching the ground. The dramatically plunging neckline is secured with a platinum clasp, etched with the image of a modwir tree.

Case is scripted: Made from pure vultite, the arcane case has been carefully crafted for a large capacity to hold several magical items. A layer of elegant pearlescent midnight blue silk has been attached to the outside for appearance and small crescent moons cut from silvery moonstones have been fastened to the case in a random design. An intricate sylvan rune has been etched into the sapphire clasp which secures the case closed.

A single row of polished black pearl buttons serves to clasp the gauzy silk fabric down the front from the gracefully scooped neckline to the fitted waist. Modestly designed, the delicate lace-edged sleeves gather just above the elbows in a subtle flounce.

Skirt is a Mavikia creation from the maiden WD run.

The coraesine-like appearance is interrupted by an engraved sigil. Formed of a natural shade of eahnor, it depicts a majestic modwir tree, silhouetted against a fiery crescent moon. A single jade raven perches itself on one of the branches, its head tilted as it gazes into the distance.

You look closely at Stunseed, examining some loose sienna kidskin pants. The supple sienna-hued kidskin is lined with a layer of light cotton for comfort, dyed just a shade darker then the kidskin itself. Tailored to fit loosely, the pants feature lightly creased pleats just under the waistline and fine russet stitching provides a subtle contrast in color along the precise seams. A sanded red-oak toggle embellished with silver gilding serves as the fastener and a small satin tag affixed to the inside of the waistband reads, "A Zrenigotham Creation".

Crafted from richly hued bloodwood, the spectacles are fashioned with narrow frames which end in slender caps at the earpieces. A small, yet extensively detailed, image of a modwir tree is etched upon the flat of each endcap. The glass discs themselves are tinted a darker shade to provide for coverage against sunlight.

Spectacles: The frame and temples of these spectacles have been cleverly constructed out of exquisitely polished silver. The earpieces have spikes of gold jutting out in a flame-like manner. The lenses are composed of flat, red glass, giving the wearer's vision no accompanying aid, but the appearance of fire in their eyes.

The pauldrons: Thick and strong, both pauldrons are composed of many heavy, segmented slabs of well-polished copper, each bound together by big lead rings. The hefty segments bend and twist ever so slightly, indicating that the casting method may have possibly been somewhat primitive. The underside of each pauldron is fitted with buffed vruul skin and two adjustable straps are attached to both pauldrons to help fasten them securely and comfortably around the wearer.

Talisman = Suspended by a plain leather cord, this talisman resembles two crossed battle hammers, each made with highly polished copper. Bas-relief etching on each of the crossed hammers bears markings of the giantkin runes of the Grishknel and T'Kirem clans.

Orcish warhelm: Cheap diopsides encircle the base of the neglected and unpolished yet very pointy horns. They have been melted to the helm's surface, where the once-boiling metal created a sloppy vein-like pattern. The helm itself, made of vultite, seems to be painted an off-copper, the color of cheap cooking pots. Etched along each horn are the words 'The Second Age of Chaos is Upon Us' in crude but legible Common.

Backpack = Supple and serene, this backpack has been masterfully handcrafted out of multiple layers of assiduously polished, tiny copper wire laminae. Both layers interlock at melding points set evenly in the wiring. The flap and straps seem to be suited in the same fashion as the receptacle of the backpack, only that they are triple-layered to prevent against wear and tear.

Pouch: The mesh of the pouch is designed out of what appears to be haphazardly woven thin copper wire, but on closer examination you can see it is stiffened spidersilk. The spidersilk itself has a white fuzz to it, almost appearing to glow faintly, but you soon realize it is just a fine mold.

Bowtie: Crafted from tiny femurs whose surfaces are a pristine white, the macabre mockery of a bowtie appears to be well-polished and lustrous. Dried sinew forms a tight, binding knot in the middle, serving to bond the bones into the traditional bowtie shape.

Church bells: What may have once been a harmonious musical mechanism is now nothing more then dying metal, producing a tintinnabulation that assaults defenseless ears. Several of the rusted iron tongues are drooping far past the lips due to improper care, adding to the carillons' already decrepit appearance.

Pants: A frayed, yellowed rope has been passed through unsewn parts of the pants where the sewing has become undone and prove as makeshift loops. The cuffs share a striking similarity with the belt in that the sewing, there too, is completely worn out and several strands of hemp drag down to the feet.

Boots: Crafted from thick leather to stand up against all kinds of terrain, the boots are a mottled hue, allowing them to blend in easily almost anywhere. Frayed laces loop through a line of dark rolaren eyelets on either side of the boots, their threads wiry and torn. Dried and caked mud lines the bottom of the boots, along with bits of grass and other various muck.

She is wearing a gold-chained pale chalcedony lotus pendant, a powdery-blue cropped cashmere jacket edged in white satin ribbon, a demure white silk bodice, a long pale blue striped jacquard skirt, and some low-heeled white silk slippers.

I really wanted that jacket to be a shrug, but that was a no-go.

bodice:Smooth snowy white silk is carefully sewn with transparent catgut thread to complete this garment. A row of tiny white silk pleats peek out above the scooped neckline, and the bodice is back-laced with trailing white ribbons weaving through quartz grommets. A tiny tag sewn into the lining reads "A Naessi Original Design."

slippers: Rounded toes and low heels are covered in smooth watered white silk to form these elegantly simple slippers. Miniscule gold chains fasten the slippers about the ankle, adding a sparkling finishing touch. Tags sewn inside into the inner soles read, "A Naessi Original Design."

When I finally quit GS and sell all of Naessi's stuff, her name will be on about 2039482034 items. Bwa hahahaha!

You look closely at Jolena, examining a yellow over lily white silk gown. This stately gown has been designed in two parts. The first layer is a long-sleeved underdress that hangs closely to the body, its fine silk the stunning color of brilliant white water lilies. The sleeveless overdress is cut from a vivid yellow silk and is loosely laced down the front with golden cords, revealing the radiant dress beneath. A delicate knotwork of lemony ribbons extends half-way down the arms in a braided array around circular openings.

Lengths of ivory silk are braided together and criss-crossed over each other for the footwear, while leaving a single silk loop for the toe. Thin soles of sanded mistwood are covered in a layer of the same silk for padding and comfort, and the low-heel offers a subtle accent to the ankle of the wearer.

Kirtle: The kirtle is mostly made from a deep black brocade that is embroidered with a rich, raised pattern of glossy black threading. Silver threading replaces the black in subtle waves, radiating from the scooped neckline and partially down the fitted bodice. A swathe of pearl voile hangs in soft arcs from the fastenings at the gown's wrists, elbows, and back. The diaphanous voile is interwoven with fine silver thread that gives substance to the gossamer fabric.

I bought the kirtle from Uniana before she left. :)
