She is wearing a deep red ruby-centered silver knot carcanet, a short scarlet velvet mantle, a ruby silk and spun eahnor cotehardie, a silver-bladed deep red silk fan, a delicate eahnor signet ring, and some crimson glass slippers accented with silvery swirls.

Hairsticks: Five slender sticks of eahnor allow firm support to any length of hair and taper to a sharp point to pass easily through elaborate styles. Golden thorned vines slither up the length of the eahnor to reach the intricately carved ruby rose cap, gold touching the petals to define each.

Cotehardie (my version of cloth-of-eahnor, pinworn dagger hider): Delicate eahnor threads spiral with incarnadine silk filaments, melding together to form a shimmering gown, light in weight and fluid in motion. Underlaying the garment, deep scarlet marbrinus serves to aid the wearer's comfort and contrast the brilliant crimson metal, while dragon's-tear ruby buttons run up the sleeves and down the back to the trailing hem.

Ring (old version of Lisera's crest that needs updating): Finely polished eahnor keeps its natural crimson hue, worked into an intricate filigree to snare a detailed crest contained within. Inlaid onyx and ruby form the crest, that of a blooming rose upon an open fan.

She is wearing a moonstone-carved tuberose pendant suspended from a delicate silver chain, a vibrant apple green chansil gown with detached split sleeves suspended from glowbark armbands, a silk-webbed glowbark fan, a lattice-woven raw linen bag, and some backless sheer silk sandals.

Sturdy blades of irregularly grained glowbark comprise this fan. Instead of the typical, slightly wavering vertical lines, the wood appears to break up in erratic intervals where the grain appears to ripple and swirl. A layer of sheer raw silk envelops the blades, muting the intensity of the grain, but allowing the phosphorescent glow to bleed eerily out from the fabric like curling wisps of smoke during a full moon.

The straps are designed to criss-cross up the foot of the wearer and wind around the ankle, where there is enough ribbon to tie a finishing bow. On the upper sole of each sandal, a white tag has been sewn in that reads, "A Naessi Original Design."

Face-veil: Falling from silver caps molded to fit the contours of the upper ear, swathes of thin dark blue silk unfurl into a fluid veil, translucent and nearly insubstantial. A subtle silver sheen permeates the delicate material, the argent hue sliding through the silken layers to appear like moonlight playing across a rippling pool.

Necklace: A collection of delicate silver chains form the body of this necklace, their lengths becoming gradually longer to fall in concentric circles about the wearer's shoulders. Thin bars of silver radiate outward to anchor the chains in place, keeping them from becoming entangled and letting the piece drape elegantly when worn. Flawless star sapphires are caught in silver settings upon the bars, the stones' colors shading from nearly clear at the inner rings to vibrant blue on the outer edge.

The cotehardie is an unaltered Nalea, while the slippers were made by a master cobbler.

She is wearing a black pearl cabochon pendant inlaid with a faenor rose, a long jade green chainsil mantle fashioned in two layers, a flowing onyx marbrinus kirtle with vaalin-caged pearls tipping the sleeves, a rose-etched faenor signet ring, and a pair of black silk pointy-toed slippers.

Hairclip (altered according to the gem docs): Thin veins of glossy black onyx swirl over malachite, its ebon hues blending with green striations such that it might appear to be a single gem. At one end of the delicate adornment, the twining stones coalesce into a sable rose blooming upon a verdant background.

The pendant, mantle and ring (later to be altered by Vainamoine, who was awesome!) were all bought at the festival. The kirtle is another unaltered Nalea, and the slippers were also made by a master cobbler.

Ten handspan-sized crow feathers glisten in shades of deep blue-black, each smoothed down slightly at the tips of the quills to slide into the hair to hold and tame the locks easily. A thin thread of black wire winds through the quills, binding them together in a half-moon fan shape almost invisibly. The shape is designed to frame the wearer's face in a halo of feathers.

pelisse:
A cloisonne lily clasp draws the pelisse together at the natural waist, catching the many layers of sheer chiffon before allowing them to fall in graceful repose to the ankle-length hem. Translucent silver threading wends languidly over the garment's edge, nearly lost against the deep, smoky hue of the gauzy silk. A heavier sable silk lines the interior, providing weight to the ethereal garment.

anklet:
Black as a moonless midnight sky, the perfectly sculpted obsidian beads are strung together on a narrow polished silver anklet. Each delicate bead is heavily lacquered and a tiny pewter wisp-of-smoke charm dangles from the middle to accent the ankle.

Soldered to a thin band of metal, the wristcuff is fashioned of the skeletal remains of an illthorn leaf. Each star-shaped leaf, some twelve in all, is carefully dipped in silver to preserve the veining, stem, and edges. Layered in an overlapping fashion, the leaves create a wide cuff that can be slipped over the wrist, and has cleverly concealed hinges that lock in place. A bit of jade is inlaid into the wristcuff to offer it a bit of color.

Woven net sack show:Thick moss green-dyed ropes are woven to carefully keep all of the items encased within the sack. Though slightly frayed, they appear to be strong and at no risk of coming loose. A myriad of tiny seashell remnants and fish-scales cling haphazardly to the ropes and sparkle when hit by an errant light. The loop at the end of a smaller but similarly dyed drawstring loops onto a carved fireleaf fishing hook affixed to the front of the sack.


And if I could change one thing, the pantaloons would be satin instead of silk.

She is wearing an elegant black pearl crane-etched hair-ornament, a nathala agate nautilus shell, a blue-toned marbled silk robe with willow leaf embroidery, some deeply hooded silk robes, a twice-wrapped onyx silk sash, some dark blue silk pantaloons, some ivory cotton divot-toed stockings, and some finely woven rush sandals.

Wakizashi (4x, acid flares, Vaeregost restoration): With a blade of folded-steel and a perfectly symmetrical temper-line, this weapon possesses the characteristics traditional with a master Nathala Dai swordsmith. The tsuka gently tapers to the middle and is wrapped in a cross-hatch of black silken cords, providing the ivory nagako-covering beneath to be seen in diamond patterns. A stylized golden scroll forms the tsukakashira while upon the silver seppa, a pupil-slitted eye has been etched.

Shell (Thandiwe's reworking of my design):Strung from a dark blue silken cord, the nathala agate is carved with exceptional care to accent the various layers of hues and striations. Delicate grooves and curves upon the surface transform the piece into a tightly spiraled nautilus shell that is accented by the natural deep emerald bands. As the spirals widen, the color transitions through shades of green into blues that give way to a vivid turquoise at the outermost edge. Along the last arc is a flowing script accented by silver foil.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Erithian language, it reads:
May the Waters of the Sea sustain and surround you.

The sash is an altered Greame katana sash.

A serpentine coil of silver clasps the gauze at the left hip, giving the sheer black fabric an asymmetrical hemline that angles down to knee length on the opposite side.

I'm not sure where to put this but looking for some feedback on a couple things i had work done on, i like them (mostly) but something is wrong with the wording and i cant figure it out.


a white-sleeved black leather corset:
Finely woven raven silk cords spiral up the back, allowing the garment to pull tightly and mirror the wearer's silhouette to maximum effect. Ivory silk ribbons bind the white cotton sleeves to the corset, fluidly draping to leave the shoulders bare.

a long silk skirt:
Alternating panels of black and dark grey silk, with a soft silvery hem, make up this long silk skirt. It is tailored to be form fitting around the waist then flaring out slightly from the knees ending at the ankles. Slits reaching to the middle of the thighs give freedom of movement while still keeping the clean lines of the skirt intact.

And if anyone has any ideas on shoes to match, im all for it, thanks in advance.

I like the corset a lot and see nothing wrong with the wording. The wording of the skirt doesn't flow really well (IMHO) but I understand the image that you are trying to create with it. I would have given it a more descriptive base description as well as reworded the show, were it me however.

Personally, I think that you could go with some off-the-shelf shoes like some open-toe grey silk slippers, or some low-heeled grey silk slippers with that outfit and it would look great. I'd also suggest adding in a cloak or jacket of some kind (or even jewelry or a container like a satchel/purse/tote etc) that is grey as well to bring the grey in the shoes together with the rest of the outfit well. The only reason I suggest that is because there is grey in the skirt, but the average person won't know that if they don't LOOK at the show on the skirt. So having two grey items instead of one makes it a more fluid color to add to the outfit.

Matte black mithril buckles secure the coat up the front and down each sleeve, each slightly concave to lie flat against the coat's leather body. Rivulets of crimson silk curl along the cuffs and wind down the lapels, the dark hue barely visible against the darker black. Slight rips and tears in various states of repair riddle the garment, while twin dull obsidian clasps draw the high collar upright to frame the wearer's face.

Made from blackened leather, the gloves have suffered much wear and tear over the years. All of the finger tips have been singed off the gloves, exposing the wearer's finger tips. Large slashes mar the palms of the gloves, as if they attempted to defend against an attack of a bladed weapon. Upon the outside of the gloves, a crimson rune has been stitched in, both identical in shape and size.

Composed of supple linen dyed shadowy grey, this tunic is fastened by a row of matte black mithril buckles up the front and up each sleeve. Slight tears and rips cover the entire garment, some look to have been stitched up, while others loosely hang open for all to see. Several small pockets are sewn into the lining of the cuffs and waistband, their presence betrayed only by narrow openings in the fabric.

Crafted from aged and blackened leather, the claw-like tube is very small -- the leather is time-worn and rubbed shiny in many places. A banding of alternating obsidian and wyrwood rings circles its center, and discreet runes have been stamped into its body. Talons dangle from the wickedly curved ends. The leather of the cylinder appears strained, as if containing far more weight than its size would imply.

The pantaloons are dyed midnight black and meant to be worn very loosely. Ragged tears line each leg from the knee to the ankle, some are patched up while other loosely hang open. Two discreet sheaths are tucked away upon each thigh, their existance not hindering the wearer at all.

Fastening the calf-high boots are numerous blackened steel buckles, dark in hue as the rest of the supple leather uppers. Soft ebon suede is cut to fashion the soles, which are stitched together with no potentially clicking tacks or metal pieces.

A small oval fastening of painted oak serves as the clasp.

Feystone: Layers of differently colored stone compose this small jewel. The outside layer is an intense, eye-catching purple color. The next layer is speckled with hundreds of tiny vaalin inclusions that glitter like a sea of stars. Further in, the stone becomes slightly reflective when turned properly to the light, producing an opalescent replica of your surroundings when you gaze at the gem. A searingly bright golden luminescence glows at the heart of the exquisitely cut stone.

What with the onset of autumn (which I love) and series 2 of Robin Hood starting here on TV last night (yay!) I've decided to resurrect the outfit the first series inspired me to create. Lady Marion, eat your heart out.

You see Lady Merelle Norre'annia.
She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She is tall and appears to be very young. She has long-lashed russet eyes and silky smooth, lightly sunkissed skin. She has hip-length, soft flaxen blonde hair captured and bound at the nape of the neck by several wooden beaded braids tied in a casual knot. She has a delicate face, a straight nose and thin-tipped pointed ears.
She has some spiraling golden rings set along the slender tips of her pointed ears, and a tattoo of winding flower petals on her ankle.
She is wearing a pair of long dangling leaf earrings, a fur-trimmed bistre velvet cloak, a side-laced natural wool gown, a spiraling garnet beaded bangle, and some creamy leather boots laced to the knee with ivory suede.

Dangling from varying lengths of dainty gold chain are an assortment of slightly curling leaves and rounded gems that jingle melodiously against each other. Each leaf is carved from lacquered slivers of reddish-brown kakore, and the chains are weighted with tiny, polished beads of citrine, amber, and garnet to emulate the warm seasonal tones of autumnal woodlands.

This dark, luxurious cloak is cut to drape in deep folds from the shoulders to the sweeping floor-length hem. The plush velvet has been gauffered with an elaborate leaf design and the contrasting caramel satin lining shimmers with graduating variations of pale ivory to dark coffee. In place of a hood, the top of the cloak is trimmed with soft creamy white fur and forms a generous cowl, deep enough to be pulled over the head.

Resting just off the shoulders, the closely fitted bodice of this soft woolen gown is cross-laced tightly at the side with brown suede cords and tied in an intricate knot at the hip. Sumptuous, creamy white fur trims the seductively low neckline, and the tight sleeves split at the elbow to reveal a contrasting lining of rich caramel satin.

The soft and pliable kidskin of this cloak, amber in hue, gleams with weather-proofing oils that lend it a slightly iridescent sheen. Cut and sewn to allow room for maximum movement with hidden panels of fabric and cleverly aligned seams, the inside of the cloak is lined with pale quilted cashmere. In place of a hood, the top of the cloak forms into a cowl deep enough to be pulled over the head, and a series of toggles inside allows for easy opening or closing.


AND, the boots are scripted and altered from Anfelt. In fact the entire outfit is made of alters!

The streaks converge upon a central point, swirling in variegated whorls that form a slightly raised platform within the center. We need a smiley thing that points and screams ALTER WHORE! It would come in handy for your silly statements. There are only so many words in the english language and far less that they will get you use in GS feature alters. So people are going to use the same words, its just fact. Sure, you can be all uber wordy and creative to try and not use the the common words..but then it just looks more silly because its super pretentious and no one knows WTF you are talking about. ;) ...I really shouldnt post when im this insomniac, I need a warning label..a SUPER commonly worded one at that. :D (but I do agree on the conventions, somewhat....the colors are nice though)

P.S. - on an added note I have seen some really creative and neat feature alters that are worded different and not super 'WTF is that?!'

The beautiful seven-pointed star shape of the illthorn leaf has been preserved forever in a fine coating of luminous pale silver, thin enough to show every vein in stark relief. The charm hangs from a loop on the stem, threaded through with a black silk cord.

Made from pure vultite, the arcane case has been carefully crafted for a large capacity to hold several magical items. A layer of elegant pearlescent midnight blue silk has been attached to the outside for appearance and small crescent moons cut from silvery moonstones have been fastened to the case in a random design. An intricate rune has been etched into the sapphire clasp which secures the case closed.

Graduating in hue from emerald green to dark, rich malachite at the pleated ankle-length hem, the layered silk underskirt preserves the modesty of the wearer while enhancing the elegant appearance.

A wide ribbon of malachite silk loops across the front of the slipper, designed to cover the front of the foot just before the toes and ending mid-arch. hairsticks (compliments to Dextra whose design these are!): Ten handspan-sized crow feathers glisten in shades of deep blue-black, each smoothed down slightly at the tips of the quills to slide into the hair to hold and tame the locks easily. A thin thread of black wire winds through the quills, binding them together in a half-moon fan shape almost invisibly. The shape is designed to frame the wearer's face in a halo of feathers.

choker:
Each of four obsidian tiles is painted with a different scene and secured to its neighbor with links of platinum. Starting at the platinum clasp, the mosaic portrays the image of a modwir tree during the changing of seasons. Transitioning from budding life in twilight grey, full bloom in blackened green, tumbling leaves in shimmering silver, and strikingly bare in misty white, the majestic being moves from birth to death in an endless circle.

Face-veil: Swathes of sheer black silk fall from twin silver caps molded to fit the upper ear, the delicate material draped in layers to shroud the wearer's face behind an airy black curtain. A web of silver veins spread over the outermost layer, the pale rime glittering like frost in cold winter sunlight.

Bracelet: Long strands of soft, silver hair have been tightly plaited to form a thin rope, the loose ends of the braid worked together seamlessly to form a delicate bracelet. Brilliant strands of silver weave in and out of the plait, the shimmering threads of metal sharply contrasting with the pale silver of the tresses. The faint scent of jasmine, reminiscent of perfume worn by ladies of nobility, still clings to the braided silver locks.

My favorite script: (Person) brushes her lips against her mournbloom and exhales. The soft, sad sound of a woman weeping emanates from the blossom, fading with the last of (Person)'s breath.

My costume for tonight's costume ball. I decided to go all out with the mourning garb, complete with scripted items to go with the theme.

Wasn't enough to win the prize for best mourning outfit, but I still love it.

She appears to be a Nalfein Elf.
She is tall and appears to be youthful. She has sharply slanted, vivid faenor-hued eyes and alabaster skin. She has ankle-length, silky platinum hair drawn back from her face and bound in place by an interlocking silver ring circlet set with a night black silver-swirled pearl. She has a delicate face and gently curving ears arcing to fine points.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a black-edged grey linen handkerchief in her right hand and a polished white gold hand mirror swirled with a sapphire rose petal inlay in her left hand.
She is wearing a silver-edged black silk face-veil, a glazed obsidian locket, a layered silver silk pelisson, a small black mournbloom tinged with intense purple, a fitted onyx marbrinus cotehardie frosted with a rime of silver that creeps from the folds of the trailing skirts, a silvery braided hair bracelet, and a pair of black silk pointy-toed slippers.

Face-veil: Swathes of sheer black silk fall from twin silver caps molded to fit the upper ear, the delicate material draped in layers to shroud the wearer's face behind an airy black curtain. A web of silver veins spread over the outermost layer, the pale rime glittering like frost in cold winter sunlight.

Bracelet: Long strands of soft, silver hair have been tightly plaited to form a thin rope, the loose ends of the braid worked together seamlessly to form a delicate bracelet. Brilliant strands of silver weave in and out of the plait, the shimmering threads of metal sharply contrasting with the pale silver of the tresses. The faint scent of jasmine, reminiscent of perfume worn by ladies of nobility, still clings to the braided silver locks.

My favorite script: (Person) brushes her lips against her mournbloom and exhales. The soft, sad sound of a woman weeping emanates from the blossom, fading with the last of (Person)'s breath.

I always thought of Gemstone like Dressing up for Halloween (favorite holiday) you can have your characters wear what you couldn't wear in the everyday world without people thinking something is seriously wrong with you.

I'm with you on that too, I think I'm more a middle man than anything. I like some alterations, and I like some functional items, and I hate grinding at anything (though I've been grinding at the ore thingie all weekend). I'm actually 78k from capping now though!

For me, it was definitely about the type of character I played. Noble elven ladies just don't walk around wearing the same thing all the time. I mean, they obviously do in GS, whether they should or not, but I wanted to go an extra step.

I had other characters who wore the same thing all the time. Tribesmen, commoners, religious figures, sneakthieves... just not my wealthy, noble elven lady. Basically, I became a merchant hunter and GS Barbie player for the sake of my character Lysistrata.

the symbols go twards his rp actualy I was planning on more, hideing one of each major Lornon arkati on his person. I know L'Naere, and Maluro, but whats the thrid one? Speaking of symbols, be glad you can see his tattoos or that character show would be about six more lines longer :D

as for the containers, everyone one of them exept the backpack are 1/2 to 2/3 full at any given time. (yeah alchemy, full lockers, and no shop ;( Has me constantly realing on the encumberace side of things, to the point I am seriously thinking of throwing down for a fixstat potion.

as for the color addition, I has planned on altering/replacing some of the existing stuff. and only 1 new item. a pin worn robe, "a sleeveless ebon-worked azur/cerulian robe with a kneel length hem"

anyone have any ideas on how to best do this. as I said, I'm wanting to give him an over all black apperance with obvious blue accents.
