Not going to say we were thrilled at this, news at all. However she returned to school two weeks post partum , is working and supporting her baby. She graduates in the to top ten percent of her class, and has been awarded academic scholarships and is enrolled in college for fall.

As to the question am I proud of my daughter, YES. It's not the path I would like for her, but one she has chosen. She takes excellent care of her child, is intelligent, and compassionate. Her teachers encouraged her to attend Prom, she is a senior and had earned the right to attend, even if she brought herself home at ten pm.

I think you're reading too far into this. Believe me, it isn't about trying to sound smart. It is about the mental interchangeability of words. While you may find use of the term female to be degrading in some way, it is technically correct, and as I don't find it degrading to be referred to as a male, I could not really infer that you might feel differently about the term female. If it had been my intent to cause offense, I would have used cunt instead of female... since that usually gets the job done much better. If I had intended to sound smart... well honestly, I know better than to try that on here. It would just be a whole new golf related situation.

As in I'm pretty sure half of my classmates aren't aware I have a name, I am simply "the female".
