I don’t know where you are getting your numbers or sources from, but let’s assume that’s true.

The phrase mostly peaceful came from a rather infamous segment in which a CNN reporter called the protest (of that specific time and place in Kenosha) “fiery but mostly peaceful protests after police shooting”. In this segment it was clearly visible arson fires and destruction of business and property.

And here you are today calling such protests mostly peaceful. It sounds to me that you are more than willing to marginalize & excuse the violence when it comes from a source that’s aligned to your own politics, but also quick to condemn & inflate the severity of an incident when it’s from the radical side of opposite political spectrum. I call that hypocrisy.

Well, first off, so what? We're not talking about whether or not I'm a shithead here. Maybe I am, maybe I'm not, it's irrelevant.

The phrase mostly peaceful is unrelated to any broadcast. It's just the phrase I used to describe the situation. You may have seen memes or whatever based on that but it's the first I'm hearing of it.

The 93% number comes from The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) which is a nonprofit that monitors political violence around the world. The link there will tell you who funds them.

The 93% is actually an old number from 2020, they did an update to the report and the number increased to 94% with the data from 2021.

The report also found this:

• Authorities are three times more likely to intervene in pro-BLM demonstrations than they are in other demonstrations.
• When intervening, they are more likely to use force against pro-BLM demonstrators: 52% of the time, compared to 26% of the time against all other demonstrators.
• These trends hold whether demonstrations have remained peaceful or not: authorities have engaged non-violent protests associated with BLM more than twice as often as other types of non-violent protests.
• When intervening, authorities have used force 37% of the time against peaceful pro-BLM protesters, compared to under 20% of the time against other peaceful protesters.
