Nationally, sure. I doubt there is a big difference between a school in Alabama that serves a poor community and a school in Harlam that serves a poor community, however. There is a disparity, but I don't think it is based on racial lines. It is based on income and where you live. I don't know it really an absolve issue as much as an awareness issue... recognition that generations have built an architecture that favors some over others. This is a country-wide thing, too. Having QUOTAS for hiring minorities. That's horseshit.

The only differences in their pays is how long they've worked there. They all get pay raises in the exact same amounts. Which I will explain below. I've got a varied ethnic workforce, and they're all hard workers. There are 4 foremen, of which I am one. Our salaries, since all 4 of us are salary, are based purely *PURELY* on how much time you've been with the company. Raises happen with how many paychecks you've gotten. Similar to how grocery chains do raises at 5000/10000/etc at el hours employed/worked. So... while you may experience that inequality, I am happy to say I do not, and am in a comfortable enough economic position to say that's fucked up, and I'd get upset about my men not getting paid appropriately.

When I worked in LA, I worked as a chef. Three years. Fun times. We got asked once, as a group, what we wanted to do, financially. We all sat down together, there was several of us, and we decided we should simply take everyone's paycheck, and divide it by the amount of people, so everyone got the same amount. The head chef got paid a bit less, and the baker got paid a bit more. Nobody was pissed about it, because it made sense that everyone was trying to make the business succeed, so we should all share equally in the profits for our hard work.
Whether or not it happens a lot, hey, I don't dispute there are racial disparities in this country. People are assholes. The world happens. People are out to get theirs. Whatever. S'how it goes.
