If it was in the middle of the South I could see Rednecks as a mark of pride. In DC it would offend me. I expect it'd offend a fair number of Southerners too, maybe including Methais.

I don't mean to sound indignant, but it's nobody's right to say 'this isn't offensive' to someone else, about what they feel. It's their right as Americans to be ignorant dumbfucks, and if they're heavily offended by being called a cracker, it's the same thing. Whether you see it as the same or not, is your prerogative, and that's 100% okay!
