maybe you're getting owned for being an assclown. don't drag the Vanguard into it - you're a fucking tool and you're being treated as such. don't make me dig up even more posts that were intended to personally offend me. you want to hide behind the truce when it benefits you and conveniently forget all the arrogant, nasty, demeaning things you were saying. you're really making me want to devote my next few days off to making sure you gain zero exp. shut your fucking mouth or prepare to be owned. your cryfail over the past 12 hours is the most annoying thing you have done thus far. you're lucky i'm following their truce. i could easily just defect and continue my rampage. but i think you deserve to have a decent playing experience like everyone else.

just remember, the choice is yours. continue crossing the line when it comes to insulting me and i'll cross the line when it comes to WTFpwning your little mispelled character. here's the key: when you insult me I just sigh and find you even more pathetic. when i own you, you cry and cry and tattle-tail to mommy. i think the opportunity cost is in my favor. make fun of me all you want, but keep family and religion out of it unless you like seeing your name in the death scroll.

What Jaeden is attempting to do is occlude the fact that he indicated he was going to subvert the truce days ago and attack, and to present himself as a victim of religious persecution who was only rightly standing up for himself and his beliefs.

The problem with his argument is that everyone here knows his religion is mocked constantly because he wields it like the fat kid no one likes who just fingerbanged a retard - trying to get everyone to smell his finger. Further, he fails to note how I havn't said a word ill about him or his religion since the treaty went in to effect.

Considering his word choice and the vehemency of this last post - it's very obvious Jaeden is quite personally affected by all this. Last night I saw him on lnet complaining to anyone that would listen about how everyone holds him to a different standard. Jaeden, do you really think the entirety of a game chose bipartisanly to dislike you? People insult you because you beg them to. You push the issue. You are Chunk without the truffle shuffle - useless. You have a beautiful wife and yet you spend night after night trying to get anyone - just ANYONE'S attention on a text based MUD forum, good or bad attention it doesn't matter.

Jaeden, certainly the abuse is heaped upon you, but unfortunately I cannot claim the credit you so wish to impress upon me. People dislike you for you - not through any action or word of my own.

I truthfully feel the most insulting fact I could ever tell you is that the Pakistani at the gas station down the road from me enjoys my company - and I his.

To the issue at hand, Jaeden indicated he would violate the truce beforehand, and Necen had the opportunity to head that off then. Jaeden has made claims in the past that his only true motivation - and reason for joining up with Vanguard was to protect the little ones. Now that he's violated the truce he seeks to distance himself from Vanguard. Jaeden claims I was the aggressor through words, though I have spoken no ill of him nor Islam since the treaty that was not in direct response to his insults (if even then).

And finally, Jaeden will, as you can see - make attempt to protray myself as - you guessed it - the most offensive of offensives, a cryfailer for pushing this issue. What I am actually doing is laying out for the community in as clear a manner as possible the road back to war that Vanguard seems to be intent on pushing.

Necen, the amount Jaeden owes me on pots is somewhere in the arena of 100k+, but I mentioned 75k earlier and feel that is more than sufficient. It's really not about the money, it's about Vanguard proving their commitment to this treaty and making amends for their aggressions. Jaeden is yours or he is not, but rest assured responsibility will be assumed for his actions post-treaty.

i think you're missing the point here. it never had to be a big issue. people just kept mocking it. i'm far from perfect, but at some point even in a forum of total silliness, i think its ok for people to at least speak a few words in defense of whatever belief system they hold dear. what person is perfect? there's an interesting pattern. if anything is said that doesnt agree with the "flying spagetti monster" type of mockery, people usually shoot it down immediately. if you defend your belief system when it is mocked, people point out your personal flaws and hypocrisy. but i reject this scheme. i say, i could be 10 times worse of a jerk and it's still ok for me to say "hey, don't mock the Prophet Jesus" or like "that comment about Islam is unnecessary."

i think theres just an inherent rejection of people's views synching up with any belief system. like everyone's opinion on X issue has to be just some random whim. if someone is having a convo about X subject, and suddenly they say "well i believe God says this.." they are usually (and instantly) met with stuff like: OH GOD DONT BRING RELIGION INTO THIS!!! WAAH!! or they just post some extremely distasteful picture, in an attempt to ridicule the person for holding such belief. or they say OH IF YOU'RE SO GODLY WHY DID YOU DO X Y AND Z?

i don't think this is a good forum for spreading the religion. i think it would be met with a high degree of ridicule and rejection. those that appreciate defense of religion in general are a much higher number than they seem, but really only a very small margin would appreciate any serious religious discourse.

i tend to just mention something in passing if it's relevant to the topic. it's usually something that has helped form my opinion on an issue. i usually do that fairly casually and then get jolted by a multitude of rejection.. so that's usually how things get worked up. proselytizers would get murdered on these boards.

it's up to Allah to guide, our duty is to remind when appropriate like you graciously reminded me. and it was Umar (rady Allahu ayn) who said: "i love when my brother hands me my mistakes as if on a serving platter"

honestly people should be able to be comfortable enough in their identities to tolerate when someone mentions a snippet from a belief system in passing. its one of those random things that spices the conversation up (usually.) but i would never see a need to use this venue to openly call people to Islam - there's much more fruitful avenues for that in other areas of life

Ridicule and distasteful pictures are no threat to Allah. We have a duty to show these people how small such actions are - that they may see a divine path and follow it. When our words fail - perhaps our actions and tolerance will prevail?

Why the fuck would you need to prep it? Why not just walk into the room and cast it. Peer also doesn't let you see when he attacks (directly, indirectly you can assume by the fact a creature is in the room with him or a creature gets stunned). Sitting not invis a room over is also a dumb plan, because he could just move into the room with you.

The difference is this guys. If Jaeden kills us, we may get annoyed briefly, but we shrug it off and go, slightly chagrinned at the irony of the situation.

Since I've been keeping my crew out of harm's way since then, you haven't griefed any more of my people. Don't pretend like you're all innocent though. You may not be as bad as some of your friends, but you've admitted to me that there was a time or two that you raised/killed/raised/killed someone. I saw you doing it myself to... um... Roflcopter? Now that shit has calmed down, Maldric has gone back to his original behavior - being a rescue cleric (which is what he was doing before he was repeatedly killed by VG for being "associated" with marlu). He's been fogging to and rescuing deaders for a good 2 weeks now, Vanguard members included, yet he's still being attacked by Bloodninja, whom never had any interaction with him before.

Maybe Vanguard should realize that Bloodninja is possibly the worst griefer on the server and put him on their bad guy list.

I could be completely wrong here. Yes, I know it is a shocker, but it happens... but I think that Calidus is actually a nice guy, who got caught up in the Marlu in much the same way that Oblivion did. It just seemed fun at the time. But in the end, it all fell apart, and now Calidus the nice guy is simply trying to move on, get past it, play the game, and is baffled as to why people are not letting him do this. And actually, that does really suck for him. But he completely deserves the retaliation. He wasn't only a participant in the griefing, he was a very avid and outspoken proponent of the griefing, of Marlu, and of the whole "gtfo if you don't like it" thing. It was all fun and games when he had Mordechai and Cthulu backing him up on PC, and had the Marlu backing him up in the game, so that people were afraid of retaliating in fear of being put on the dreaded KoS list. But now, he is on his own, and it probably doesn't seem like so much fun anymore.

If it were me in his shoes, I would probably reroll, start over with new characters, and make a new pc persona. We're only two months in, in the grand scheme of things, two months is nothing. But, that's just me.

I'm not gonna say the Marlu clan is universally a bunch of newbs (they had Madmountan, at least, who had some class)... but watching these logs for the last few weeks, it looks like a lot of them got power-drunk in the low levels with how easy it was to kill, and then it caught up with them and exposed that some of them aren't that great at this game. Some of the people they griefed early on (Leash) were near-legends in prime, and simply know the game better. Oblivion, for example, was like a really-poor-man's retarded Jenovadeath.

Aside from Madmountan, what are the chances any of these Marlu folks have ever had a character over the level of, say, 55-60?

The drama was fun while it lasted?

The redux from the hit is 42.5% which is nothing special for a level 40ish character. Also, it's not possible to tell if there was any padding, as Donquix stated, due to randomization. The numbers are a bit off. Weighting is not halved and the armor crit divisor is 9 (non-plate covered area). So, it would be 105/9 without redux.

Redux calculation:

You swing a claidhmore at Cthulu!
AS: +297 vs DS: +31 with AvD: +37 + d100 roll: +87 = +390
... and hit for 46 points of damage!

Wow, yeah that painting is awesome, in the biblical awe inspiring sense. I keep staring at it, I feel like Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day off.
