The panic is real. After his campaign being sued for unjust enrichment and Schiff's marathon debrief about his alleged crimes, it's understandable the President is acting like a cornered rat.

Be unbiased for a second.

Did you really think Schiff's performance was good? I found it nauseatingly boring and obviously wishful conclusions.

Oh yeah so much panic, especially the part where Schiff admitted this whole impeachment sham is because Democrats no longer like Democracy and don’t want to allow the peasants/voters to decide elections anymore and he wants congress to do it from now on.

If you don't remove him from office then the results of the 2020 election won't be valid if he wins! But they'll be totally valid if he loses.

I meant to say this the other day, but it's clear the talking points the dems have say to use the word "cheat" instead of QPQ or bribery now.

The argument they are making is he cheated to become president in 2016 (LULZ) and they are in fact predicting the future, that when he wins again, he'll have cheated.

They are also predicting Russia will invade our homeland (LULZ).

Bolton.

Definitely a leak. You can pre-order it from Amazon, but it is not scheduled to be released until March. That schedule could be interrupted if there are security clearance concerns, which are likely if the book makes Trump look bad. The title on the Amazon landing page is "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir." You cannot preview it on Amazon.

That Hamilton song is overused in political parodies. It would have been a clever title three years ago. Here's a parody from 2017 about the Trump tower meeting..

Democrats will still want to call more witnesses because this isn’t about justice at all, it’s a political hit job aimed at hurting Trump and Senate Republicans during an election year.

Democrats know they ain’t gonna get the numbers to remove Trump based on these bullshit charges, they just want to smear Trump and Senate Republicans by either accusing them of covering up Trump’s “crimes” or accusing them of being cowards for not voting to remove Trump.

And the thing is NO Republican will be safe from their vileness. Even if a Republican votes to give Democrats their witnesses and votes to remove Trump the Democrats will still accuse them of being traitors for not “having the courage” to convince their Republican colleagues to vote to remove.

And why not? The Democrats keep getting away with this shit and the Republicans keep falling for it over and over again.

Just look at what those fuckers did to Kavanaugh. Look at what they did to Roy Moore, oh it was somehow kept a secret he was a supposed pedophile all through the primaries but weeks out from the general election they trot out all of these women to accuse him of being a pedophile?

One woman didn’t even accuse him of being a pedophile but said she met him when she was 11 or 12 and they started dating when she was 18 but that was enough for the media to brand him a pedophile in that case.

Shit I remember a few years ago a Republican said some Democrats in Congress were communists and Democrats threw a fit and he was forced to apologize and now Democrats openly brag about being communists. Trump has really shown just how evil the Democratic Party is and I’m kind of pissed I ever fell for their shit.

Clinton was impeached for far more frivolous charges, with barely 30% public support for impeachment. That's a political hit job.

Trump has violated the law, his oath of office and has collaborated with our enemies for personal political and financial gain. That several ambassadors, government officials and now Bolton have or are willing to testify about their direct knowledge of these illegal acts makes what the House of Representatives done an affirmation of the United States Constitution and the continuity of government. More than half of the nation supports impeachment and removal.

Your blind support and denials, your refusal to acknowledge evidence of Trump's lies and misdeeds are the real problem. Put country over party like a real man.

Easy enough, Trump's deposition in the Mueller investigation in which he denied having conversations with Roger Stone. Rick Gates easily exposed that lie while covering his own ass.

You'll also note that unlike Clinton, Trump has provided no testimony under oath regarding his Ukranian involvement, yet dozens of statements he's made about his unique idea about truth, have been directly contradicted by the sworn testimony of his staff.

This just in, the President is not immune to investigation. Hence our impeachment for Obstruction of Congress.. Republicans and you conservatives who pretend not to be Republican's have given the President carte blanche when it comes to accountability. That's not what the Constitution entails, something no Republican in office since Reagan has honored.

There was credible evidence that Clinton lied under oath, hence the charge of perjury.

There was also credible evidence that Clinton pressured witnesses to lie while under oath in order to match up with the false testimony he had given under oath, hence the charge of obstruction of justice.

Meanwhile Democrats are charging Trump with abuse of power for doing the exact same thing every president has done since we started handing out aid to other countries, and charging him with "obstruction of Congress" because Trump said go to the courts if you want me to participate in your witch hunt and Democrats said "but...but...but that would take too long! Washington (CNN)The White House has issued a formal threat to former national security adviser John Bolton to keep him from publishing his book, "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir," sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.

Dershowitz said: “Every public official that I know believes that his election is in the public interest. And mostly you’re right — your election is in the public interest. And if a president did something that he believes will help him get elected, in the public interest, that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment.”

There's an interesting equivocation by a Trump attorney, arguing the President can't be held accountable so long as his opinion is that his actions are in the best interest of the country. Where do you draw the line? If the President feels deeding Montana to his children is in the best interest of the United States, should we all just look the other way Mr Dershowitz?

Another interesting response from a Trump attorney on the question of whether John Bolton should testify. His response goes down in the history books as the biggest waste of oxygen ever.

Jay Sekulow responded, ""So again, to move that into a change in proceeding so to speak, I think it is not correct. The evidence that has already been presented, an accusation that if you get into witnesses, and I'll do this very briefly, if we get down the road on the witness issues, let's be clear, it should not be and I cannot dictate to this body, but it should certainly not be though that the House managers get John Bolton and the President's lawyers get no witness. We would expect if they are getting witnesses, we will get witnesses, and then those witnesses would then, and all of that, just to be clear, changes the nature and scope of the proceedings and they did not ask for it before,"

You know Parnas, that guy who has been charged with several felonies and is facing some serious prison time and is now trying to pin all of the blame on Trump in some sort of desperate move to get a plea deal? The scuttlebutt is the Republicans now have the votes to block witnesses. Some of the Republicans people thought might side with the Democrats, like Gardner from Colorado, are apparently some of the loudest saying to not call anymore witnesses because he thinks it will just lead to more Democratic attacks.

Ya think?!

Republicans thinking of siding with Democrats because they think it will help their reelection efforts are crazy because it won't convince any Democrats to vote for you if they were already planning on voting against you, but it sure as shit might cause some Republicans to vote against you or just not vote at all.

Nobody has commented on the most interesting thing to happen so far in the trial.

Yesterday we had this..

Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts blocked Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul from posing a question during the Senate impeachment trial Wednesday that would have named the alleged whistleblower at the center of the case, Fox News is told — and Paul may try to force the issue during the question-and-answer session that begins Thursday afternoon.

More... (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/justice-roberts-blocks-sen-paul-from-naming-whistleblower-source-says-and-paul-may-force-the-issue)

A reporter for Roll Call observed that during a break in the trial Wednesday, Paul was fuming.

"I don't want to have to stand up to try and fight for recognition," Paul shouted, according to reporter Niels Lesniewski, who noted that Paul's complaint was "audible from the galleries above the chamber."

"If I have to fight for recognition, I will," Paul said.

And today we got this..

Sen. Rand Paul named the purported intelligence whistleblower Thursday after Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts refused to read his question including the name in the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump.

The conservative Republican left the proceedings to hold an impromptu press conference at which he fingered the person whom right-wing media have named as the CIA operative in the White House who filed a complaint about Trump’s infamous July 25 call to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Paul read out his conspiratorial question that Roberts twice refused to read inside the chamber, apparently out of the judge’s respect for federal law protecting whistleblowers from retaliation

Zoe Lofgren, one of the impeachment managers, said she was "stunned to hear that now apparently it’s OK for the president to get information from foreign governments in an election. That’s news to me."

Democrat Senator Heinrich said, "I have a hard time even believing they were making that argument" in regards to Trump's defense team saying it was okay to receive information from a foreign government.

And with each new bogus charge brought through a corrupt and entirely politically motivated process, the Democrats will drive a new spike into their political coffin for the next 20 years if not more. They have blown their load and the House will flip, likely heavily back to Conservative control though even some Democrats are already regretting the process and will turn on this sham. from "The Trump 2020 Election Victory"....published in May 2029...

Chapter 5: The Impeachment

Most political historians agree that the fateful event for the Democratic Party occurred on September 24, 2019 when Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump. Although the resulting impeachment proceedings are now widely understood as one of the greatest political errors in American history, at the time many in the Democratic Party believed it was the best way to ensure their future and to rid themselves of a President that they very much despised...

Here is my faithful summary of Lamar Alexander's statement..

Trump did it.
Trump's behavior was inappropriate.
We have ample proof that he did it. We do not need additional witnesses.
It was not bad enough to remove him from office.
No Republicans voted for the impeachment in the House. Impeachment only works when there is bipartisan support.
The voters can sort it out.

Alexander's full statement is available at https://www.alexander.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2020/1/alexander-statement-on-impeachment-witness-vote

This is going to be the most controversial paragraph from his statement..

It was inappropriate for the president to ask a foreign leader to investigate his political opponent and to withhold United States aid to encourage that investigation. When elected officials inappropriately interfere with such investigations, it undermines the principle of equal justice under the law. But the Constitution does not give the Senate the power to remove the president from office and ban him from this year’s ballot simply for actions that are inappropriate.

He'd have to tune out of CNN to realize there is an epidemic going on. You know, where the Chinese have literally quarantined several cities of approximately 30 MILLION people.

Imagine if that happened in the US. The National Guard rolls out, says hey... you can't leave this city (to 30 million people). Fucking riots in the streets.

But yeah, it's the senate basically arriving at the conclusion we all literally knew they would, because a majority vote won't ever happen. Yeah. That's it.

Just send all the sick to California. Let nature work its course.

Also, nice sell on Amazon. Their earnings report was something stupid. Kinda like Tesla just wreckin shit yesterday.

Schumer to Chief Justice John Roberts: Did you know that in 1860 the then chief Justice in the Senate impeachment trial of President Johnson cast tie breaking votes?!
Roberts: Bitch are you for real? Of course I know that shit! He cast tie breaking votes to adjourn! Get this shit out of here!

I may or may not be paraphrasing the exact wording of this conversation.

Again the Democrats come off as little children trying desperately to be taken seriously at the adults table. Going back 160 years for precedent in which the chief justice cast a tie breaking vote to adjourn and using that as evidence that Roberts should cast a tie breaking vote for something that is actually serious and important in this trial?

Huge drop in the stock market when the Senate decided not to have witnesses at the trial. I think it's because investors were disappointed that they won't have anything good to watch on teevee once this is over and definitely not because it means Trump will remain in office.

I'll give Democrats this much, there is one lie Trump told during the 2016 election and it was a pretty big one that still affects me today: he said we would be winning so much that we would get tired of winning.

I ain't tired of winning yet and don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

Why do I think if I look that up on Politifact, they will actually have analyzed it.
