Yes they will still work, any Russian visa or MasterCard will just be processed under the Russian payment system. I work for HSBC Russia. Russian banks trying to partner with union pay is so they can make purchases abroad.

I work for a big FI as well.

I know what the news has been saying that it will not apply to domestic transactions, but Visa and MasterCard will be declining ANY and ALL Russian issued cards that hit their network. I don’t have to argue…give it a little more than 24 hours from now and you will see what I mean.
