Democratic leadership works for the constituency for the most part. That's not to say that there aren't Democrats in Congress who are beholden to the corporations, lobbyists, and special interests. That's a government-wide problem that needs to be addressed.

I think the clear definition between opposing views in this country really is more about the right wing media sphere that has grown over the past 20 years. It is completely unregulated and full of misinformation. It is a barrage of constant bullshit meant to keep everyone guessing as to what is true and what isn't. It's being done on purpose to divide us the American people because if we unite we could close tax loopholes on the rich and help the poor, sick, and needy.
