Two differences:

1) America has now had 4 years of Biden and something to directly compare against Trump. Neither candidate is particularly popular, but polling indicates that Biden has lost a lot of ground & Trump now has taken the lead in a head-to-head matchup.

2) This election, God-willing, won’t be at the peak of a pandemic. It’s undeniable that the loose voter registration & mail-in ballot options heavily benefited Democrats. Most states, including the key battleground states, have returned to pre-Covid election rules.

Edit: On number 2 I’m not saying cheating or the election was stolen or anything like that in an effort to keep the conversation respectful. There is a reason that Republicans pray for rain on Election Day.
If Republicans hadn't spent so much time trying to fight against the ability of individuals to vote by mail, they'd probably if had better turnout from those who didn't want to, or couldn't wait in line at their polling place. They shot themselves in the foot there, as with a lot of things.
