Candor - Sorry for your loss man, losing a friend sucks. That said, I'd say it's worth reaching out to better understand his point of view, and share yours. Knee jerk reactions happen, and chances are if your friendship means anything to him, he would hear you out. I can't say I can relate to him, as I don't think I'd disavow any friends over supporting Trump (he is a great con artist after all), but if they were a good friend it's worth reaching out in my opinion.
