Democrats actually pushing the theory that smaller refund checks this year somehow translates into less money for families and therefore the Republican tax plan is a failure.

If you're getting a refund that means you paid more in taxes throughout the year than you were required to do, effectively giving the federal government an interest free loan. What the tax overhaul did was make it so you pay fewer taxes throughout the year meaning of course you're going to receive a smaller tax refund. But Democrats are relying on their propaganda arm, also known as the mainstream media, to push the idea that families all across America are going to have less money this year because of the tax plan, rather than explain to them how this all works.
