Either there is an issue with the voting, given how the Republican was winning the vote count and it wasn't until weeks later that every Democrat was able to pull off the win.. or something after the election took place is counting up votes where a majority of them are Democrat votes.
So which is it?
I talked to a guy that worked in one of the voting commissions in California. Basically they were still counting absentee votes and stuff. Republicans in his district tend to vote early and the democrats tended to vote late or via absentee or mail in, so that is why Republicans always have a big jump at the beginning. It wasn't due to recounts that the Democrats won, it was just the later votes getting added in.
