There are different ones. Toshiba bought Westinghouse Electric Company, which is related to nuclear energy.

Westinghouse Digital is still owned an operated in the US, they're involved in TVs/Computer monitors.

Yep. They don't make anything in America anymore though. They're an importer, like everybody else. That's not to say that US manufacturing is gone though. US Manufacturing has steadily risen. We just build things like Supercomputers and Jumbo Jets and Oh god just all the fucking weapons. We let China and Taiwan and Korea and Vietnam and the UAE and India build all the consumer stuff because we're busy doing more profitable things that require an educated workforce.

Vizio bought by the Chinese. From what i've read they already did most of their assembly in Asia anyway (who doesnt?), but it was neat that it was considered an American TV-electronics brand that was actually worth a damn.

Meh.. Vizio is a low end television to be honest. I have 1. It's cheap and after a few years, you realize why.

Yeah, people always talk about getting the same amount of TV for less money, but that never seems to be how things work out in the end. I love my Mitsubishi DLP, but as those are no longer produced I'll be getting a Samsung once the old one finally dies.

I have a 36" or 38" Samsung that I got before my 56" Vizio.. and I would much rather watch the Samsung. It's a far better picture.

I hear that regularly. They're supposed to be great for gaming as well. I just can't justify dropping thousands of dollars on a new television while the old one still works.

I just want it to break, but DLPs are so easily repairable!

While I was waiting at Wendy's today for lunch for myself and my son, some teenager came up and asked for $10 while he was playing the new Pokemon game (at least I think that what it was) on his phone.

I should make a list of the things wrong with this situation.

Did you tell him you found a weapon in OTF and were looking for the owner? That'd shut him up. I had one do that saying they broke and just needed $5 to get gas and get home. I told them no, but then they proceeded to get about $30 from other people as they went around the station with the same story.

Cute dogs, but I could never own one. 6 years average lifespan on a dog that small? That, and the NOISE the make by simply being alive.

Totally agree with this. Best thing you can do is go on CNET and look at their reviews, and buy a good quality TV. The cheap ones are just that, cheap.

All my electronics are Samsung, except for one TV I have that is an LG. My mother has a Vizio though, it is about a year old and has lines across the picture.
