You say that, but then you say...If they believed that, why wouldn't they say that? Why would they say something fundamentally different?

You're way overthinking this thing. It's exactly the thing that type of person would say. I just think it's a real stupid thing to say. If I were one of those surgeons, I'd probably be irritated with the people praising God. And it's not because I would want the praise, it's just... how misguided are you? If the team of medical staff never touched the kid, he'd be dead. He didn't do a damn thing (unless we go back and count the fact that he 'made' or 'provided' everything, including the ability to learn this science and develop the tools, skills, etc at which point we're back to cursing him for being an evil dick and putting us in the bad spot to begin with; equally stupid).

Like I said, I want those people to skip the doctors and hospitals. Who knows? Maybe going to the doctor and saving your ass is actually going against his grand plan. Just get your friends to gather around and pray for your recovery. It'll work, I promise! If not, well, you were destined to die that day anyway.
