I just think this person is one who believes God either had some active hand in the situation or that by his 'providing' the knowledge and technology to help the kid, his leg was able to be saved. Either way, he did jack shit.
If they believed that, why wouldn't they say that? Why would they say something fundamentally different?
What I don't get, though, is why they're so quick to praise for something like medical science being 'provided' to us while completely ignoring the fact that he also provided that wonderful flesh eating bacteria that we need the science to combat. Hell, some people even believe our paths are laid out for us which would mean it was
intended that the whole ordeal happened in the first place.
It is a question people have asked for thousands of years, so you've got plenty of company.
The best parallel is to the nature of time. Relativity teaches us that the universe does not exist in time; rather, time only exists in the universe.
