My high school's mascot was a (Native American) Warrior. They changed it to something else a few years after I graduated claiming a naming controversy, but I think it had more to do with the weird, 70's softcore porn vibe the mascot had. I think the only way to be safe would be to just, you know, not have anything to do with Native Americans at all.
