Look at East Germany vs. West Germany circa pre-1990 for a difference of political philosophies and their impact on their respective country.

The rest of us also understand the difference between Communism and socialism. You're in those feelings though. I understand you can't tell the difference.

The point was that blanket generalizations are silly. Germany is indeed doing well but they also were one of the reasons that Greece and Ireland (though not Spain) got onto shaky ground in the first place. The "Europeans are all socialists!" meme, just like the "welfare queen" meme that y'all like isn't quite so simple.
