We are causing it to heat up... which is causing it to cool down.. which in turn causes it to heat up.

DUH.

Or, you know, it's a complex process that involves both natural phenomenon (which most of the political types either want to say is everything or nothing) and human impact (yes, we can effect things on the planet, we're a little more significant than you want to admit) on shifts in global weather patterns. Durping it up is clearly more fun for you though.
