Put me down for a big R.
Fuck. I made the damn thing anonymous. This isn't clarifying anything.
I would call myself a fiscal conservative but a social liberal.
I'm in favor of gay rights, I'm pro choice, I'm in favor of some stricter gun regulations but not some of the crazy ass shit some Democrats have been suggesting. I believe in universal healthcare. I believe in capital punishment, I think we should be doing more to save the planet, I think we should drill for more oil. I think we should legalize marijuana and focus more on treatment/rehabilitation for prisoners instead of punishment. I think we really need to focus on reducing our deficit. I think we should be more involved in shit like Iraq, Ukraine, Syria.
Damn fucking skippy.. and when our evil alien overlords come. I will have you drawn and quartered while I help them conquer our world.
I am pro Gun control, Anti abortion but pro choice.. since ~I~ am not having the baby.. I really don't have any rights in the matter at all. I am for gay rights.. they deserve to have 50% of their shit taken from them too. I am also for Polygamy, whats good for one and all that crap. I think corporations have to have some rights.. but are not REALLY people. But our government is to fucking stupid to fix our shit. (same with marriage... get the fuck out of the marriage business and consider all of them civil unions.. let churches do marriages)
I am for a safety net for those that need it, and LONG ass jail time for those that abuse it... (with manual labor). I wouldn't mind universal health care.. if we actually cured things and didn't cost tens of thousands of dollars to just find out you have a hang nail. (yes some hyperbole)
I think we should tell the UN to fuck off. I think there should be Term limits. I think there should be strict limits on campaign spending. Airways are public... make the price of using them free airtime equally to both parties. (limited airtime) I don't think we have the right to just invade another country... unless there is a potential threat to us. I also don't think we can ever second guess shit. (If Clinton had done his job there may not have been a 9/11 for example.. also if we had finished the Gulf war.. there wouldn't have been an Iraq war)
I think people should get paid a reasonable wage for reasonable work. I do not think the government can dictate how much that rate is. I think we need to stop spending money like it's water. We are running out of both.
I also think that both parties are fucked up in the head. Dems want to spend money like it's no tomorrow on social programs.. and have repeatedly said that the deficit and debt don't matter at all... yet they want to tax the job creators more and more. Which makes no sense at all. if the deficit doesn't matter.. Republicans want to spend more and more money on the War machine... but don't want to pay for it. They cry about the deficit and debt.. but are not willing to do hat needs to be done to resolve it.
As for the War machine... we need it. We need MORE of it. China is catching up.. Russia can still destroy the world 5 times over.... and nuke Mars. Iran supposedly copied our drone tech. Iran is about to have nukes.. North Korea has nukes.. and is getting close to a missile that can reach us territories. Russia is looking to reform it's empire. And you just KNOW Germany is itching to start something again. The world hates us.. there are a lot of reasons why. The reasons don't matter. If we don't maintain a "Fuck with us and we will destroy you" attitude and ability.. we are doomed.
Also.. Cwolff is a dick.
But how do I vote for tacos?
Read my above edit.. and I voted Other.
So.. what did Cwolff and Wayward vote?
Crunchy ground beef tacos!
Jarvan's Other. I think he really does favor a dictatorship! HAHA
I voted Independent, though registered as a Libertarian I've voted for both Democrats and Republicans in the past. I've thought about registering as one or the other just to vote in Primaries, but I can't bring myself to do it.
Most people who claim they are "Independent" or "Other" generally vote either all Democrat or all Republican.
This poll is a farce and the tacos are stale.
I wonder how many dead people and children are voting in this poll.
We've got a couple of missiles, but....firing missiles around the world tends to get other nations upset. Other nations that have nukes, that is. Plus, in the history of modern warfare, exactly one war has been won via air power alone (and missiles are essentially air power), and that was the Bosnian conflict, and even that wasn't much of a win.
Kind off far off topic, so to bring it back on, I am for a strong military, and at the same time, I'm relatively libertarian in my views. Socially liberal (perfectly fine with sex, drugs, and rock and roll of all types, just not all of them are for me personnally), as the saying goes, and fiscally conservative. Too bad neither of the major parties is anywhere even close to that. The Republicans are socially conservative and fiscally liberal, while the democrats are socially liberal (as long as you are liberal according to their terms, god forbid you should want to own a firearm) and fiscally completely and totally wacko off the deep end of liberal.
I have tended not to vote lately, as I can't bring myself to vote for the lesser of two evils (and in this case, lesser is only relative, as I think both parties are pretty evil). Voted for McCain in the republican primaries a while back, and voted for him in the national election, but I knew he was likely not to win, and I didn't agree with him on a lot of the issues, although I disagreed more with Obama. Couldn't choke back the bile enough to vote for Romney, and certainly wasn't going to vote for Obama's second term. So, yeah, I am one of those folks that feel disenfranchised by the rigid two party system we have here in the US.
Much as I love my country (as evidenced by 25 years of military service and counting), I strongly dislike the current political system. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution.
Also here: the body of Methais who is lying down.
EDIT: Just kidding. I'm too 1337 to get pwned
EDIT EDIT: Since today is poll day, vote here too or be a (non-homosexual) fag forever:

Wayward, you did not specify what type of tacos.... what type of democratic scheme are you trying to pull on me?
Tacos are racist because now everyone thinks we're all Mexicans.
I've never thought this about you before, but that's such a dumb move. Voluntary disenfranchisement is the epitome of cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's all about realistic expectations. Could you as a third party candidate go run for President and win? No chance. Could you go run for some local office and win? Absolutely. Every journey starts with one step. Take over the local scene, then you can work on state, then you can work on federal. Swing for the fences and you'll just strike out.Quote:

I demand votes for good ole American apple pie.
I am reliably anti-incumbent. I see little real difference in politicians - they all say what they think you want to hear to get re-elected.
In Virginia, we get a new Governor every four years and I've voted for more Dems (6) than Republicans (4).
I chose other because other could be Tacos too!
I am a Democrat since y'all asked.
Well, if I am going to be racist, I just want to be the best racist I can be. Therefor I hate the entire human race. You all are smelly, ugly, funny looking, do stupid things, will believe anything, pick on each other, kill each other, rape each other, shit on the planet.. literally in some cases, and are all around disgusting.
My mother is an angel for putting up with me for the 6 months I was Colicky.
Er...ok? If there isn't a Libertarian candidate running for a certain position, I vote between the people who are running. This is almost always either a Democrat or a Republican, and since I have no allegiance to either party, I vote for the individual I like the best. Sometimes that's a Republican, and sometimes it's a Democrat. I'm sorry if you think that's dumb. :(
That would require me to register either Democrat or Republican. I can't bring myself to do that, because I'm neither of those things. Although there are times I would like to vote in a closed Primary, I can't simply switch parties on a whim. It would be at least dishonest, to myself most of all. It's not "disenfranchising" in the least. It would be no different than saying all Democrats are voluntarily disenfranchising themselves for not registering Republican, because they can't vote in the Republican Primary.
I'd vote for a purple monkey if they would spend less than they took in.

Wouldn't listing oneself as an independent while simultaneously declaring themselves "anti-<insert party>" be you know...a total contradiction?

Let's talk about dumbass voters for a second.

Vote for Hillary because it would be cool mannnnnn!
I wonder what cwolff's thoughts are on my previous post.
I predict he will completely ignore it.
Didn't they do the exact same thing with Obama? lol
I think my favorite response was "Oh...wow! I can't possibly answer what her greatest accomplishment was because there's just been so many. I mean wow! I'm overwhelmed at all that she's done!"
I paraphrased her answer slightly.
I also like the one who said we should elect Hilary because it would set an example for the entire world. Like, what? Isn't the US decades behind on electing female leaders?
???
I can buy the argument that these types of videos usually just show the people that look stupid and ignore the ones where people were actually able to give good answers but...what?
That's not what you're saying...at least that's now what you typed. You're saying with just a camera and a microphone that anyone can make anyone look any way they want with "editing"? Like...we can edit footage in such a way as to...what are you saying?
You should stick to making your arguments on Youtube videos if that were the case, Back, then you could edit the videos in a way so it looks like you make sense.
They get to vote in a primary. You get to vote in none. Standing on principle can be commendable, but that's not what this is. Democrat is literally defined as those people who are registered with the party. You don't get a lobotomy, you don't get sent to a re-education camp, you aren't compelled to support them in any way. It costs you nothing and doubles the impact of your vote.
Perhaps this will be my new quintessential example for rationalism vs. empiricism. It is inconceivable to me why you are crippling your voice this way.Obama was a Senator, Hilary was a Senator and Administrative Assistant of State. We're not talking about Robin Williams here.Quote:

Not even close. Not even in the same ballpark, heck not even on the same planet! Dare I say not even in the same galaxy? I dare say it.
So are you saying that the people in that video really did know what Hillary's accomplishments were, but thanks to clever editing it made like they didn't have a clue, and also that only Fox does this editing you speak of?
Who are some of these intolerant people you speak of? White people and Christians, but only if they're not liberals, right?
Daily Show criticism aside I'd like to hear how you think these interviews were edited in such a way to make these people look stupid. I'd also like to hear you explain that armed with just a camera, microphone and editing software one can make anyone seem any way they want.
And...GO!
The key is to cut between the question you ask and the answer you're given. Modern one-on-one interviews always have two camera angles (one per person) so this doesn't look suspicious. It's even easier in mass interviews like these, where the questions are usually not shown on camera at all. Take the first person: how do you know she was asked what Secretary Clinton's accomplishments were? How do you know she wasn't asked if Secretary Clinton could become President?
That's why the only video that can't be corrupted is universal surveillance: no cuts. All you need to do to see the context is press rewind. Let yourself see it one more time. Play. Come on, DJ, play that surveillance tape. You know that it turns me on.
Except, like, sometimes they showed the interviewer asking the question with no cut between the question and the person looking dumbfounded and confused. Other times the person in their answer referenced the question.
I suppose it's true in the other cases you could say they used selective editing but that seems kind of silly to lie when they have so much entertainment value from the ones where no editing was required.
Good. That's exactly what I want you to do. :)
I'm sorry you think honesty is such a trivial thing. For sake of argument, let's say I did decide to go one way or the other...which should I do? Whichever one I pick, there will still be a primary I can't vote in. Unless you're saying any net gain is good, regardless...which would be a fair point. Let's just say I'm too indecisive to pick a side so I'm happy sitting on the fence, and call it a day.
All the editing in the world can't change that fat guy at the end saying Hillary did an exceptional job handling Benghazi.
