Most people who claim they are "Independent" or "Other" generally vote either all Democrat or all Republican.

This poll is a farce and the tacos are stale.

    I plugged myself as Independent.

Usually vote Republican, but there are times that I vote Dem if I prefer the candidate/promises, and for state/local measures/bills that would be 'liberal'-ish.

I dunno, I think at the very least it shows that despite the bickering and conflicting views it shows a lot of folks here aren't very happy with the two main parties.

And the tacos... The tacos are on point.

I wonder how many dead people and children are voting in this poll.

Aren't we all just dead children on the inside?

Hard to do both those things....fighting wars costs quite a bit of money (I say this as a long term military person)

Now you see why I don't vote when I don't like the people running.

Unless you are now claiming that I HAVE to vote. Besides, you bitch about climate change, and you don't do anything about it.
    This space for sale.

I don't necessarily mean being involved with troops on the ground. We must have millions of missiles here somewhere.

We've got a couple of missiles, but....firing missiles around the world tends to get other nations upset. Other nations that have nukes, that is. Plus, in the history of modern warfare, exactly one war has been won via air power alone (and missiles are essentially air power), and that was the Bosnian conflict, and even that wasn't much of a win.

Kind off far off topic, so to bring it back on, I am for a strong military, and at the same time, I'm relatively libertarian in my views. Socially liberal (perfectly fine with sex, drugs, and rock and roll of all types, just not all of them are for me personnally), as the saying goes, and fiscally conservative. Too bad neither of the major parties is anywhere even close to that. The Republicans are socially conservative and fiscally liberal, while the democrats are socially liberal (as long as you are liberal according to their terms, god forbid you should want to own a firearm) and fiscally completely and totally wacko off the deep end of liberal.

I have tended not to vote lately, as I can't bring myself to vote for the lesser of two evils (and in this case, lesser is only relative, as I think both parties are pretty evil). Voted for McCain in the republican primaries a while back, and voted for him in the national election, but I knew he was likely not to win, and I didn't agree with him on a lot of the issues, although I disagreed more with Obama. Couldn't choke back the bile enough to vote for Romney, and certainly wasn't going to vote for Obama's second term. So, yeah, I am one of those folks that feel disenfranchised by the rigid two party system we have here in the US.

Much as I love my country (as evidenced by 25 years of military service and counting), I strongly dislike the current political system. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution.
