a jade-inlaid rolaren katana

The dark rolaren-alloy blade seems to shift in color between deep blue and black like a moonlit sky. Etched along the length of the blade on both sides are several detailed shooting stars heading towards the katana's guard. A piece of jade, carved into the shape of an unknown distant land, has been expertly placed into the face of the golden guard. A spiral pattern of inlaid jade continues down the full length of the black leather handle and terminates in a gold pommel. The weapon is exceptionally crafted by skilled hands. The katana is polished and graceful. Curiously, written upon it in flowing Erithian script is the name "Tgara". Truly, this weapon was constructed by a master craftsman.

Slipping into a back stance, XXXXX holds her katana with both hands at an angle above her left shoulder. With precision-perfect grace she moves the blade into a gentle arc through the air while taking an enormous step forward and ends the move with the blade resting by scant inches above her right shoulder.

XXXXXX reverently lays her katana across both palms and bows to it. She weighs it within her hands for a moment then grasps it with one hand and sights down its length, carefully assessing it. Satisfied, she nods and returns it to her side.

XXXXXXX deftly raises her katana overhead, and then deftly paces around in a circle in slow measured movements. At the top of each of the quarters, she bows respectfully, followed by a vicious slash through the air.

XXXXX raises her katana overhead and then launches a vicious slash downward, pulling blade back up, then slashes in the other direction.

Moving into a back stance, with her front leg straight while resting her weight upon her back leg, XXXXX raises her katana so that it is parallel to her right cheek. Ever so slowly, as she releases a steady breath, she moves her left hand, with only two fingers raised, across the length of the blade and holds the position with perfect poise.

One of those hasn't sold for a long time, is that the kind that you need a combined 50 stat for influence and discpline (or whatever) for it not to backlash? Anyway, I'd guess 40-50, but I want it so maybe I'm guessing low. Last one I saw sell was for 40.

Meh, I sold the 6x shortsword for 40. I don't think you'll get quite that much for it.

I believe it uses the combined bonuses. Its only lashed at my Giant warrior once, and he had lousy discipline at the time. I can only assume it attuned to him, as it never struck at him again, and was his primary weapon for some time.

Well, I'll go with 40 and see what happens... thanks for the info..

Whats the value of one of Iasha's lesser white ora falchions that were raffled on the first run of the Wavedancer? This falchion is 5x and has all the features of the greater white ora weapons EXCEPT the teleport feature.

Thanks

Not as of yet on either.

If sold, I have some with dibs on the ring fulls, though I may try to work out a trade for the ring hauberk for Stun.

nothing SUPER special but ive no idea on market value. I have an off-the-shelf, void flared steel 4x awl-pike(from blades of steel) From this past Ebon gate that Imdal had added said flares too. I honestly have no use for it and thought it a waste to stick it in a locker, so if anyone knows what exactly they are worth, the imput would be appreciated (need to get rid of it!)

I think a pinworn VLA is worth 5m or so, on a good day. You are more likely to get 2-3 for it though. What was nice on the doeskin vests were they weighed 1 lb I think also.

One other item I forgot to mention was my gorget, it casts song of mirrors for I think 34 or 38 mana, on you and your group (if you are leading), or on you and the group leader (if you are a follower), for 10 minutes. What's that worth, I believe it's the only one left in the game now.

Wow, so Jaelus sold out completely on both Jaelus and Tamral? I remember he kept that 425 cloak, pheons things, 3x a day fog thing, and the ungodly plate, and the 10x DB pin on the warrior.

I wonder who got both of his poison dirks, the dagger bandolier, shadow dagger, and all the cool self mana toys he kept on his main.

Plate I've had for about 2 years, I bought it from Tsin. 425 cloak I got in a trade, phoens item I've been the only owner of since last years ebon gate, 1x fog item was from last ebon gate, and the 10x pin wasn't from him either.

I am fairly sure he sold out though, just not to me :)

I didn't know that kind of quality stuff existed in higher quantity. I just remember Jaelus being able to cast like 10 spells on himself with those self mana weapons and boots, one shot everything, and that shit was sick.

The warrior was basically unhittable and just beat shit down too.

Price check on a 5x ebony-hilted etched rolaren wakizashi?

Gripping your wakizashi loosely in the palm of her hand, you rotate your wrist and allow the blade to glide in a gentle arc through the air. As the blade spins, you take an enormous step forward with your right foot. Just as the step is complete, with a resounding stomp, you stand poised with both arms extended, the wakizashi raised high above your head.

Rotating your wrist, you spin your blade through the air and step easily into a back stance. With perfect control of your muscle, you exhale a long steady breath while extending your other hand with two fingers pointed upward while holding the wakizashi mere inches from your left cheek.

Centering your weight on the balls of your feet, you bring your wakizashi to chest height with the blade tip angled up. With the turn of your wrist you whip the blade into a frenzy of motion. Pushing out with one arm and taking one-step back, you end with the wakizashi's blade horizontal to your ear.

Feeling for imperfections you run your fingers lightly along the wakizashi's blade.

You prod the wakizashi, and the look of it slightly changes.

You kneel and place your wakizashi on your thighs, bowing in silent reverence to the blade.

I thought whip-blades were their own base.

RichardCranium
12-08-2007, 05:24 PM
I didn't know what base they were so I looked up weapons on the play.net page and found whip-blade on the "known as" under rapiers. The AvD is the highest I've ever seen at 46.

Edited to add: When I inspect it doesn't show as: It appears to be a modified rapier. Just that it uses the one-handed edge skill.

Donquix
12-08-2007, 05:56 PM
the website is wrong. whip blades were originally rapiers but then they got changed to have their own base.

i'm pretty certain they have basically the same exact stats, or very comparable, but they slash instead of puncture don't they?

DFs from psinet library, don't have avd:
Rapier .325 | .225 | .125 | .125 | .075 | 2 | SP | 30/100
Whip-blade .333 | .225 | .125 | .115 | .065 | 2 | S | 30/100

Fixstat sells for what, 40m? Fixskills sells for 8-10m and is probably easier to unload. So no, not a lot more. Maybe not any more at all if you can find impatient buyers at 10m.

Appraisal on this please?

some singed black body leathers

Show:
These body leathers are reinforced with soot-blackened siren lizard skin to help deflect the occasional fatal blow. Many areas of the leather appear to have come in contact with intense heat, though the composure of the armor is still masterful. Dragon skull-shaped mithril alloy pauldrons adorn the leather, their maws agape mimicing the beast's primal breath of flame. Large opalescent runes of dark mithril alloy have been inset upon the raised leather collar. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

The first thing that strikes you about the leathers is the weight, which is about 12 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 850,000 silvers.

It has a bonus of +25 from a normal leathers, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it is soft leather armor. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.

The harmonics generated tell you that the leathers serves to reduce the severity of inflicted wounds.

(Somewhat crit padded)

You carefully inspect your black body leathers.
Your careful inspection of some singed black body leathers allows you to conclude that it is soft leather armor that covers the torso, arms, and legs.
You determine that you could wear the leathers around your chest.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of leather.

An acid-etched visored sallet hinged to allow adjustability

The first thing that strikes you about the sallet is the weight, which is about 4 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 700,000 silvers. You can also tell that there is some type of metal in the structure of the visored sallet

The magical harmonics reveal that the head is better protected when wearing the visored sallet

The way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it serves some type of defensive purpose, different from that of normal armor

Thanks!

I think a lot of that candy (the green bonbons, etc.) is from this past EG. When you eat it, it changes your features for a short while. The bonbon makes you have nasty dripping green lips or something, if I remember correctly.

And I have no idea where "a small fruit basket" is from, but OMG I NEED IT. How much do you want for it??

I think a lot of that candy (the green bonbons, etc.) is from this past EG. When you eat it, it changes your features for a short while. The bonbon makes you have nasty dripping green lips or something, if I remember correctly.

And I have no idea where "a small fruit basket" is from, but OMG I NEED IT. How much do you want for it??

It's a small fruit basket! I'm wearing two on my Giant loadlifter. They're shoulder worn, annnd... It's from a merchant... That popped up infront of either the constabulary or the cleric shop, I want to say. Something years ago. And they sold "a quilted pink poke" there too. And it was before the candy merchant was placed north of that. That's all I can remember for now.

I meant to edit that and some other container-types out, sorry Michi :cower: I was invent full'ing and am oblivious to how much shit I just put up there. Someone hax0r my account for further QCing.

I think the veniom fingernail file is a lockpick? Yes? From an older EG. Um, you can borrow that for as long as you'd like, I don't really use lockpicks too much. I'll sign onto AIM/be IGgy later and whatnot. I'll try and be alive and around.

What else, what else.

Oh! For PMs sent, I was just sort of hoping that in what is sadly a fraction of a lump, of a pile, of a stash, of a lump (again) of my crap, that people can say something like "That's the thing worth 50m from the 50m merchant back whenever." So that I can out-$ Tsin.

The over-expensive stuff I'm still trying to delete hold on, but I sort of have to go soon, my b. So if you see something obvious like a perfect weapon or blatantly whatever... Thingy, then just be like, "Yeah, not that." But if it's something that's more basic looking that I bundled accidentally, then say something like, "High five, you put a gajillion-m with the random shiznod." That would be very helpful. Don't say that literally though or thou shalt bare my retarded psychomotorical weetawtedness.

Oh shuh-'it. The English language's ghost done gone pollute my soul with vengeful ectoplasm. But anyways, Bobs and Sagets, and help a brother out.

I also will answer more of my PMs, or rather, all of them since I haven't answered any, because I hate life, later.

Smiley face :),

Boxfound item, pinworn, weighs less than 2 pounds, appraises at about 22k in the pawnshop:

This glossy grey satin sash has been trimmed with silky red piping and is meant to be worn over the shoulder and across the body. Glittering gold thread has been embroidered along the sash's length.
There appears to be something written on it.

>read my sash

In the Common language, it reads:
~ Elanthia's Most Mediocre Cook ~

You sense that the sash is a magic item that holds the spell "Heroism" with a fair amount of charges and it is not well suited for duplicating.

Most of those soutanes were 3x somewhat crit. Someone sold me one swearing up and down it was plain 4x, and it was... 3x swc.

So have you checked it?

If so, and its plain 4x it is probably only 100k.

Otherwise if its 3x swc... maybe 500k?? Not many people care about robes with small amount of padding and low enchant.

But you might be able to get more then that. I dunno.

a porcelain wood sprite statuette
This is a small item, under a pound. In your best estimation, it's worth about 25,000 silvers.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the wood sprite statuette. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the statuette is to cast a spell or perform some magical purpose.

Looks like 4x armor... altered. So not much.

You should inspect it to make sure what the base metal is. And tell what the armor base is.

If it inspects as real eahnor 'full plate'. Someone might pay more than its actual worth.

Just finished enchanting this set of MBP and was wondering what it would go for.

a white falcon-crested vermeil vultite breastplate.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the vultite breastplate in your hand...

It has a bonus of +35 from a normal breastplate, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it is plate armor. The vultite breastplate seems to have some sort of unusual protection against damage.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the vultite breastplate in your hand...

The vultite breastplate resonates with your voice, indicating that it has been enchanted by Khistian.
As your song penetrates the vultite breastplate, you determine that it is vulnerable to crushing attacks and resistant to shocking attacks.

So 7x and lightning resistance/crushing weakness.

Looking for best guesstimates on the value of an altered razor-sharp mithril claidhmore and a glyph-etched dwarven battle axe. The axe is the 2x, HCW variety, and has been enchanted to 3x. The alter on the claid is as follows: a fist-pommeled elven-bladed claidhmore -- A study in contrasts, the glimmering, deceptively slender blade of an elven claidhmore has been bolted to a leather-wrapped steel hilt sized for human hands, which appears all the coarser by comparison. Delicate decorative scrollwork at the base of the blade clashes with the relentlessly practical, unornamented sweep of the crossguards. The hilt's sole concession to form over function is the pommel, a brightly polished silver fist clenched around a small and beautifully faceted emerald. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

Thanks for your input.

Been gone for a while and have some stuff I want to know about, forget what some of them do and their values.

an acid-pitted midnight blue falchion
has a few actions, 4x acid flaring I believe, changes to a few different colors when rubbed. I remember there used to being a couple of them around.

a butterfly charm
Think I got this in a mystery pack, seen few people with them, but its not my kind of thing, do they sell for anything much and what were the actions again.

a staring Vvrael warlock mask
changes adjective before it when tapped, only thing I know about it

random stuff probably all fluff I don't know, still need to find a bard, unless someone recognizes any of it.
a rune-etched red spinel clasp, a blue toadstool pin, an auburn braided hair stickpin, a keg-incised black badge, a shredded rogue doll,

a black ora two handed sword (pure black ora)
a black ora dagger (pure black ora)

a pewter and star emerald ring
+4 bonus to MIU, blank imbeddable

From the rapid vibrations of the star emerald ring, you determine it has no spell within it now, but could be imbedded with one, in the proper hands.
The ring resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus to Magic Item Use Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 14 times.
You think that you could probably find out something more about the ring's enhancive properties if you tried.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the star emerald ring in your hand...

The magical strength of this item is strong. It could probably handle the imbedding of an entirely new spell, if handled with care.

The ring resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:

First:

Some gleaming imflass leg greaves, weighs 3 lbs, loresing as follows:

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the imflass leg greaves in your hand, and you learn something about it...

You sense a faint aura of magic around the imflass leg greaves. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the greaves is as some type of defensive garment.

It has a bonus of +12 from a normal greaves, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it serves some type of defensive purpose, different from that of normal armor.

The harmonics generated tell you that the greaves serves to reduce the severity of inflicted wounds. The magical harmonics reveal that legs are better protected when wearing the imflass leg greaves.

As your song penetrates the imflass leg greaves, you determine that it is moderately resistant to shocking attacks.

Second:

A Drakar Falcion, weighs 5 lbs

It has a bonus of +5 from a normal falchion, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.

The harmonics generated tell you that the falchion has been infused with the power of a fire elemental.

You might want to PM NocturnalRob because I know he is working on LFM, though I don't think he has gotten to the trap components part yet. I know that when I was trying to grind LFM, I would have paid a nice premium for the trap types that I needed, so if you find someone working on that part of LFM, which is extremely frustrating, they will probably do the same.

Hi there!

So I'm looking for some numbers on a few items.

First up, a battered blackened halo. "You take a battered blackened halo off your head. You carefully inspect your blackened halo. You determine that you could wear the halo on your head."

Second, some singed grey silk angel wings. "You take off some singed grey silk angel wings. You carefully inspect your grey silk angel wings. You determine that you could wear the wings anywhere on your body."

Thanks for any help!! :)

I need some help on the song, too, are all the enhancives temporary, or just the crit weighting?

Bevan did the loresinging:

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the faenor-studded maul in your hand...

The harmonics generated tell you that the maul inflicts more fearsome wounds when it strikes.

The maul resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 1 to Stamina Recovery.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 1 times.
It provides a bonus of 2 to Two-Handed Weapons Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 2 times.
The maul looks to have a huge number of charges remaining.

The maul resonates with your voice, revealing some details of its temporary enhancement:
The maul's enhancement will degrade when it scores a successful strike.
It should be able to withstand an incredible amount of uses before its enhancement has completely degraded away.
When it's enhancement has degraded away, the item will lose its special ability.

You sense that the faenor-studded maul will persist after its last enhancive charge has been expended.

You could just have it assessed to clarify. A warrior will be able to tell you whether the weighting is temporary or not, according to their assess. But id venture to say that yeah its temporary. But get it checked.

ok, so i got this falchion, and a young bard been singing to it, this is what they come up with

a scorched mithril falchion

The first thing that strikes you about the falchion is the weight, which is about 4 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 74,000 silvers. You can also tell that there is some type of metal in the structure of the mithril falchion.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the mithril falchion. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the falchion is as some type of weapon.

It has a bonus of +5 from a normal falchion, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.

The harmonics generated tell you that the falchion helps defend the one who wields it.

ok that last part, is that for every weapon, or is that telling me this is a defender weapon? I'm kinda beginner at loresinging.

and if so with defender weap, any clue to how much it worth?

You sense a faint aura of magic around the mithril alloy buckle. You also feel a faint drawing sensation from it, as though it may be able to hold more power. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the buckle is to cast a spell or perform some magical purpose.

From the rapid vibrations of the mithril alloy buckle, you determine it has no spell within it now, but could be imbedded with one, in the proper hands. You estimate that it can contain an average amount of mana.

The thinnest film of silver overlays the deep blue-black rolaren scales of the armor, lending them a brilliant sheen that floats atop the darkness that lies beneath. Thick matte black leather edges the closures of the armor, supporting buckles of silver-washed rolaren similar to the scales. some exquisite mithril brigandine

Constructed of fine leather and studded at the joints with mithril, this brigandine seems shaped to the female body. Each part of the armor would seem to accentuate the finest, most feminine, features of the wearer. Emblazoned onto the left forearm of the armor is the sigil of House Vaalor. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

You touch the sphere with one hand, your mithril brigandine in the other hand. Tiny sparks of brilliant golden light dance across your brigandine. An orange beam shoots up from your brigandine toward the ceiling.

Some of the armor that only women can wear and has scripts.

Presumably you two have something mostly unique with special effects that aren't seen on a lot of other items, if any.

If this is actually the case, the sky is the limit. My advice is this: Collect offers for about 3 days. When you're done, start offering it for sale at three times the highest offered price. Settle for double.

Profit.

You'll want to find out who if anyone has sold these in the past, and figure out what they sold them for. Not to set your own price in accordance with theirs of course, but to be aware of what flak you might take from people if you say "I'm asking 50 mil" and the last went for 5 mil. You don't want to drive it up too far even if you plan to really drop down the price later, because you'll discredit yourself right out of the chute. If it turns out that you are in fact the first to be selling yours, you're in a unique position to dictate the price, and the chances of you getting any others out there at a low price are dramatically increased.

Oh, and if you two have the exact same thing, work together or you're both gonna end up pushing the price down.

If there are one or two others of this same thing out there also, contact the owners. See if they'll sell cheap. If you've got the silvers liquid, buy 'em up and get your monopoly if they're cheap enough. Don't try this if there are more than one or two others out there though. Remember also that a "I probably wouldn't sell mine for profit because I use it." from a found owner can easily turn into a "Wow, he's getting 20 mil for that. Hell, I could buy TEN cool things with 15 mil. I'll sell mine for that, and it'll be a steal!"

If you decide to drive the price up you're gonna make some enemies, but you're also gonna make a ton of silvers.

It depends solely on whether you're in it to get as much profit as you possibly can out of it, or if you're just in it to get a few silvers liquid without having anyone frown on your actions.

And above all, remember that whatever price you end up selling at, you have to make sure that whoever is buying is happy with the sale. You don't want customers thinking they've just been gouged.

That is the number one difference between having Ardwen or Belnia's reputation, and having Tsin's.

This is a small item, under a pound. In your best estimation, it's worth about 550,000 silvers.

From the rapid vibrations of the pink topaz ring, you determine it has no spell within it now, but could be imbedded with one, in the proper hands. You estimate that it can contain an average amount of mana.

It provides a bonus to Swimming Ranks.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 6 times.
It provides a bonus to Elemental Lore - Air Ranks.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 17 times.

The harmonics generated tell you that the dart helps defend the one who wields it.

+18, 38 lb vaalorn full plate, masterfully padded (new scale) never used, whole lot of uses left. Purchased , lightened several times and padded over several EB events.

__________________________________________________ ______

Careful examination indicates the vaalorn armor has a base strength of 79 and a base durability of 695. You also determine the current integrity of the vaalorn armor to be at 100.0%.

Examining the armor closely, it looks like it is temporarily masterfully padded against critical blows.

Roundtime: 24 sec.

The first thing that strikes you about the armor is the weight, which is about 38 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 10,800,000 silvers. You can also tell that there is some type of metal in the structure of the vaalorn armor.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the vaalorn armor. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the armor is as some type of defensive garment. It also appears to have a temporary modification of some kind.

It has a bonus of +18 from a normal armor, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it is plate armor. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.
You think that you could probably find out something more about the armor if you tried.

The armor resonates with your voice, revealing some details of its temporary enhancement:
The armor's enhancement will degrade when the wearer is struck in combat.
It should be able to withstand a whole lot of uses before its enhancement has completely degraded away.
When its enhancement has degraded away, the item will lose its special ability.

Not too much, the stamina recovery could be good for a young warrior, but the train is too high for the enchant. Polearm users rarely use hiding.

There's some funky formula for DS from Dodge. For people with fewer ranks, it is probably okay/good. For people with high dodge, it probably only amounts to 1 or 2DS. I'd give it a test on 0 dodger versus a rogue.

Helms tend to be a hard sell because they bump AsGs around.

I want that! Actually I think someone else wants it too. Might be Fallen. They're pretty rare in general and I haven't seen one in non-weaponized form yet. Only hindering factor is the impending CoL nerf. I'd kick it off at like a million and see what crazy wants it most.

The formula for dodge is based off ranks, not skill, so it will provide the same DS to someone who has a lot of dodge ranks as to someone who has no dodge ranks. The funkiness comes in to what armor/shields that person is using.

It probably amounts to about 2DS on just about everyone.

For someone with no shield it's worth 5 DS in defensive and 4 in offensive, assuming MBP. With no armor it's 6 DS in defensive. Dodge DS is based on dodge ranks not bonus, so they help someone who is highly-trained in dodge as much as someone who is not highly-trained.

3% on top of an existing 6% for a person that casts 100% of their attacks is a bit much. Factor in that Ithzir fade about 10% of the time you cast at them and even with me wracking multiple times during a hunt and mana is still an issue.

I could do it, but I already have stints where I can cast 5 times at a creature and not hit it due to fumbles, fading, and hindrance. It is infuriating, especially when your primary hunting spells are 19 and 20 mana a piece.

They are worth nothing but what the pawn will take for them, which is next to nothing. As far as I can tell these do absolutely nothing. You get them by killing a herald between the 1st and 2nd round of their attack while the disk is active, but then not looting the body.
