a ripple-etched gornar dagger with a water sapphire-capped hilt
Look description: You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.
Doesn't have any real value; however, I think that is a nice alter on it; so you might try selling it for 50 to 100k on the amunet in the landing. Someone might buy it has a "carry around weapon" because it looks nice.

Not much. Its orb fodder. I'm assuming someone would want the +9 for thrown weapons, and not too many people would want it. What did the pawnshop say for value?

It's hard to sell orb fodder when there's no festival in sight where a person might make an orb. You won't get much for it unless you're willing to wait and either sell it closer to EG, or orb it yourself.

I'm actually asking for an appraisal on something I want to buy.
Specifically mana flaring runestaves. Are these pretty rare or fairly common? How much should I expect to pay for a 4x enchant/3 mana flaring runestaff or a 4x enchant/5 mana flaring runestaff?
Is 5 mana the most you can get from a mana flaring runestaff?

there is one selling off the shelf in Talador that is 4x/2x for 600k. a twisted black orase staff capped with a cluster of jagged asterfire quartz shards in All That Glitters
yes, 5 is max.
I got one of my staves up to +5, but haven't come across anyone else (no, I don't think I have the only one). When I've seen mana flares offered as a service, it's been along with acuity and people usually choose acuity.
Your best bet is to buy something off the shelf or something with lower than what you want and try to get it worked on.

I didn't want to create a whole new thread so figured I'd ask here.
I just found this:
a curved blue vultite wakizashi with a diamond-inlaid pommel
I don't think there is really anything special about it, just a 4x weapon but analyzing gives me this information:
You analyze your blue vultite wakizashi and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item type should not change."
The creator has also provided the following information:
This item can be altered, but should not be altered into something broken, dull, or weak-looking, as the messaging indicates superior craftsmansip that is kept maintained.
The wakizashi isn't unlocked.
What does it mean it isn't unlocked? I mean I know some stuff can be "unlocked" and they do special stuff but anyone know what this means in this case? What would unlocking it do?
Kalishar

Yeah it does have some fluff verbs.
So that's all it is? More fluff verbs? Or is there really no way to tell?
Also I'm assuming it's worthless as well? :p
ETA:
pull: You pull your blue vultite wakizashi in close to your body, its keen edge pointing outward.
gaze: You heft your blue vultite wakizashi in your hand a few times, admiring its finely honed edge and excellent workmanship.
raise: You thrust your blue vultite wakizashi into the air and give a triumphant shout!

Well maybe not worthless, it looks nice! :)
I don't what merchant first offered those particular scripts, but it's been a trend lately to offer items off the shelf with fluff scripts that you can unlock a few times from GM NPC merchants for more and more verbs.

I'm kind of reluctant to part with it but I think someone else could get use out of this.
an ivory-inlaid ruic recurve longbow: The limbs of this elegant longbow stretch to the length of a halfling with a delicately curved grace to its shape. The smooth I-beam riser construction showcases the beautiful rosewood panels sandwiching a center core of dark grey teak. The same technique has been used at the tips of the bow and back of the handle accented with whorls of ivory. The use of ruic on the belly under clear lacquer gives the bow an overall rich brown appearance. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

The creator has also provided the following information:
Greater Armor and Weapon Moods:
This item contains mood messaging depending on flare type, and has a chance to fire off ambient messaging every so often. It will also work for things like bless, elemental edge, and guiding light flares. This item is currently dormant and won't do ambient messaging. You may PROD to make it react again. When getting the custom settings altered, it works just like getting an EzScript done. You write the 1st and 3rd person messaging. The custom abilities are like cantrips or illusions. They do not cause permanent things to happen. They shouldn't cause forced actions or emotions to others either.
Changing the flares, padding, etc. on this item is subject to having the custom settings removed, unless the messaging is generic. If changed from ice flaring to fire flaring, custom messaging about ice would no long be appropriate. Padding, weighting, sighting, and defenders do not have default ambient messaging, but can have custom ones added and without the custom setting, they will never be ambient.
If you're unsure if you'll lose any of your custom settings, ask before getting any work done on this item that changes the flares, weighting, padding, etc. Wave messaging is the same for both 1st and 3rd person.
This has custom messaging for RUB.
This doesn't have custom messaging for CLENCH.
This doesn't have custom mood messaging.
This doesn't have custom messaging for WAVE.
You can tell that the longbow is as light as it can get.
Custom RUB script:
With a practiced eye you carefully inspect your longbow, running your fingers along its length carefully searching for signs of wear. Finding none, your touch turns almost reverent as it slides across the polished upper limb and you smile with pride.
Riend runs her fingertips tentatively along the length of her longbow, inspecting it with a keen eye. After a thorough scrutiny her gaze softens and she smiles with satisfaction.

A torn straitjacket.
>look strait
The jacket is made from thick canvas, torn in many places and covered in various stains. Leather and rolaren straps are used to secure the arms and to close the jacket. Looking closer at the straps, they appear to have teethmarks, as if the wearer tried to escape from it. You also notice a tag with the words "Homicidal maniac" attached to one of the straps. "Property of Teras Aslyum" is stenciled in big black print on the front.
Weighs about 2 pounds, pin worn I believe.

You estimate that a torn straitjacket can store a very small amount with enough space for a couple of items.
You determine that you could wear the straitjacket anywhere on your body. The straitjacket appears to serve some purpose.

There's a chance I'll be selling this in the near future but really can't gauge it's value anymore: a midnight black chain (aug chain)
5x
+5 or +6 damage padding
You carefully inspect your midnight black chain.
Your careful inspection of a suit of midnight black chain allows you to conclude that it is chain armor that covers the torso, arms, and legs.
You determine that you could wear the chain around your chest. The chain appears to serve some purpose.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of vultite.
>weigh chain
You carefully examine the midnight black chain and determine that the weight is about 24 pounds.
>look chain
Near-indiscernable scorch marks have been burnt into the armor's surface, which is as black as night. The overall design of the suit of chain is to conceal one's presence and several places have been trimmed with thick veniom mesh. Etched over the heart, a crest shows a shadowy-looking individual holding a thin black stilleto, a small smirk playing on his face and the partly-concealed mark on his neck branding him as a zealous follower of Onar. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

7x veniom-edged tower shield, altered
>look shield
Upon examining the smooth metal surface of the shield, you are unable to locate a ding or mar of any type. The rim of the shield has been edged with pure veniom, and painstakingly etched with images depicting the wielder as a vigilant follower of Onar. Carved into the back of the shield are the words, "Keeper of the Shadows". You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
>weigh shield
You carefully examine the tower shield and determine that the weight is about 8 pounds.
>inspect shield
You carefully inspect your tower shield.
Your careful inspection of a veniom-edged tower shield allows you to conclude that it is a medium shield that protects the bearer if carried in the left hand.
You determine that you could wear the shield, slinging it across your shoulders and back. The shield appears to serve some purpose.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of vultite.
>assess shield
You assess the shield for structural weaknesses and strengths.
Careful examination indicates the tower shield has a base strength of 54 and a base durability of 195. You also determine the current integrity of the tower shield to be at 100.0%.

After attempting to remove temp masterful padding from some leg greaves (aimed attacks at 1 second RT, over 1,000 strikes over an hour) and only getting it down 1 level (something like more than a giantman to incredible number), i'm starting to believe in temporary padding.

I've been wearing the same "temp padded" helm for 4 years. It's still at the same MCP level. On partial armors it's very effective, even for a square who gets hit a lot. For a pure who only rarely gets hit, a temp padded partial armor will probably not run out before Gemstone does.

You tap a pair of mechanical goggles with dark crimson glass lenses, which is in your right hand.

|--------------------------------------------------------------------|

| These goggles should NOT be altered with the following |

JackWhisper

A pure *top tier, the one with the minuses to stats and the teleport/whatever* will be expensive. Low level true black ora, bottom tier, will be less than 10mil. No matter the base. I can't see it for more than that. But I personally bought a bottom tier true black ora falchion a while back for 4.5mil. It's a nifty toy, but it doesn't do much until you get to the higher unlocks, which NOBODY does. Whatever tier it is, that's what tier it is. They really need merchants to work on them =(
JackWhisper
03-16-2015, 02:12 AM
Mind you, this does NOT apply to any true *top tier* black/white ora fully unlocked daggers or 1-2lb weapons. Mostly 1lb. If there's a dagger that has access to the teleport, it WILL sell for an absolute fuckload, regardless of anything but the teleport. I've been searching for a white ora dagger for quite a while now, to no avail.

Cashed out early at Duskruin and got the fully unlocked Whisper cloak/longcoat. It has some neat scripts, and the really nice thing about it is that it holds a "huge" amount, which is 140 lbs IIRC. Sad thing is, the scripts are fairly dark and don't really suit any of my characters. Any price estimates? They cost 750 bloodscrip for the fully unlocked one on each mannequin.
>anal longco
You analyze your dark leather longcoat and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.
The creator has also provided the following information:
This item can be altered, but it needs to remain a worn, LONG, container with some kind of a clasp, which should remain a singular item, and should be able to be flipped (ie: no frog closures). In addition, the clasp portion of this cloak is fully alterable. This clasp does NOT need to be included in the base/long of the item. This longcoat is Tier 2/2. Original merchant: Xanai, Duskruin.
Your longcoat is fully unlocked. Available verbs: clean, flip, fold, pull, ponder, raise, remove, rub, snap, tickle, touch, turn, wear, whisper.
You can tell that the longcoat is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.
>wear longco
In a single, fluid motion, you swing the dark leather longcoat around your body and onto your shoulders, settling in it comfortably. You abruptly fasten the carved ebon clasp to secure your possessions from wandering hands.
>clean longco
Noticing a clump of dirt along the edge of your dark leather longcoat, you casually brush it off, and it falls to the ground.
>flip longco
You discreetly cover the dark leather longcoat's carved ebon clasp with your palm and flip it over using your thumb, inconspicuously opening your longcoat.
>fold longco
>
With a devious grin, you fold your arms across your chest and shrug your shoulders beneath your dark leather longcoat.
>pull longco
You wrap your dark leather longcoat tighly around your body. The material suddenly constricts around your form, threatening to cut off your circulation. Dark voices echo within your mind.
>ponder longco
You gaze at your dark leather longcoat, and your mind empties of nearly all thought.
>raise longco
Subtly, you lift the edge of the dark leather longcoat's carved ebon clasp, pretending to only adjust its placement. With a quick flick of your wrist, you turn it to the left, causing your dark leather longcoat to billow around your feet.
>rub longco
You reach up and brush your hand across your shoulder. Almost simultaneously, shadowy ripples begin to slither down the dark leather longcoat.
>snap longco
With a snap of your fingers, you command the hem of your dark leather longcoat to flutter in an unseen breeze, creating a distraction of churning dust.
>tickle longco
>
You tinker absentmindedly with the carved ebon clasp on your dark leather longcoat, insinuating disinterest in your surroundings.
>turn longco
You turn abruptly and yank your dark leather longcoat, forcing it to coil around your legs.
And of course, the titular whisper ability:
>whisper longco Teveriel is a cool guy.
You lower your head and whisper something profound into the dark leather longcoat's carved ebon clasp. The longcoat seems to vibrate in response to your voice.
>touch longco
As you touch the dark leather longcoat's carved ebon clasp, you are suddenly filled with memories of a distant past. The words flood your mind as you remember...
Teveriel is a cool guy.
>nod underst
You nod understandingly.

3x/day Mobility - ~30m. Duskruin has(had?) 1x/day Mobility pins that were 7500 bloodscrip each, so about this amount. Could get a bit more since this is all on one, who knows.
5x/day 406 - under 10m would be my guess. A self-mana 406 went out in 2013 for 10m on bid.
5x/day 507 - 10m-ish, maybe?
Archigeek
04-06-2015, 01:47 PM
I'm thinking more for the 507 (20m), and probably the mobility too (40m). 1x a day is a pain, so I don't think a 1x a day item is very comparable to 3x a day. 3x is enough to cover most of your hunts for the day if you're well trained in MIU. 406 is readily available, but still handy in a self charger (10m). Also, new style is much better than old style, so there's that to consider. Self-chargers are still rare enough that you should be able to just put them up for sale and get enough interest to get a good market value without falling through the cracks.

With a solid *THUNK*, your white ora mace bounces off the head of the dhu goleras causing her to drop to her knees.

Ipantor crossbow
The first thing that strikes you about the crossbow is the weight, which is about 10 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 500,000 silvers.
It has a bonus of +22 from a normal crossbow, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it requires skill in ranged weapons to use effectively. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.
The harmonics generated tell you that the crossbow assists its bearer with aiming attacks at range.

I haven't played in many years, and decided to reactivate my accounts to least give it a go for a month.
The 1 item that has saved me on many occasions while hunting is
" a polished smoky glaes orb inlaid with an intricate pattern of silver runes"
Casts Major Sanctuary 7 times a day . ( recharges 24 hours after last charge was used.) ( least that's how it used to be)
My concern:
I had my bard sing to it trying to figure how many charges were left and got.
"This is a magical item, which casts spells from the Major Spirit Circle. It is usable 7 times per day."
( didn't give me how many uses are left like it used to)
Next verse of the song gave me.
" You sense that the smoky glaes orb will disintegrate after its last magical charge has been expended."
( which has me concerned that something has changed , don't remember ever getting that message before)
Just curious what everyone thinks this is worth and some thoughts on my concern.

I'd try to get this changed to newstyle recharging if they offer it in the future. Not sure on price, but it could be useful for some people.

Just had my assist answered.
Gamehost:"I hope you don't mind, but we rummaged through your pockets before I came down here."
"We made a copy of the item in question to test."
"And it definitely will NOT crumble if the last charge is used."
"So what is in the loresong is probably erroneous messaging tied to whatever base item was used before the script was applied."
Now just to figure out what it may be worth

At the cheapest T0-T5 is gonna run you T1 1mil, T2 2mil, T3 3mil T4 4mil and T5 5mil, unless you're doing em yourself or have a friend selling em to you dirt cheap. I personally charge 2mil per necroweek, so T0-T5 is closer to 20mil. You can listen to the person who overpays on everything they buy or the guy who sells ensorcells twice weekly, your call I suppose.

So your argument is that I overpay for things, and that's why you should believe that something is worth *more* than I say? Hard to argue with those street smarts.
Regardless, pointing out that a T5 is expensive has no bearing on an argument that people pay significantly less for existing ensorcel than they do to get it added in the first place. Is it logical that this is how it works? Nope. Is it the way the market works? Yup.

Two items I am looking to get prices for:
1)a veniom-worked ebonwood kit with rounded edges
Unlocked Gambling Kit with 2 games:
>put kit
You extend a set of narrow legs from under the ebonwood kit and carefully place your kit on the ground, setting it up as a table.
>analyze kit
This item must stay a case or kit of some sort. When altering, keep in mind that the kit's messaging references it having a small, large, and secret compartment, a cubbyhole, and a narrow slot. The table (on top) cannot be deepened.
This item can have a custom description when placed on the ground and can hold 10000 silvers weightlessly.
You can tell that the kit is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.
>inspect kit
You estimate that a veniom-worked ebonwood kit with rounded edges can store a medium amount with enough space for any number of items of small size.
You determine that you could wear the kit, slinging it across your shoulders and back. The kit appears to serve some purpose.
You remember that you registered this item a few weeks ago.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of gemstone.
2)some carved pale bone dice
Raffle won Poker Dice
>get dice
You remove some carved pale bone dice from in your glass dice case.
>toss dice
You rattle your pale bone dice and let them fly! They ricochet and bounce off the ground, making quite a clatter. The dice finally settle and show a nine of swords, a nine of sceptres, a king of crowns, a nine of gems, and a blank side. You quickly scoop the dice back up into your hand.
>shake dice
Carefully holding the pale bone dice in one hand, you juggle them about a bit, hoping to stir up your luck a bit.
Thanks!

Curious if this is worth keeping around.
white ora jackblade
The first thing that strikes you about the jackblade is the weight, which is about 2 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth about 950,000 silvers. You can also tell that there is some type of metal in the structure of the white ora jackblade.
You sense a faint aura of magic around the white ora jackblade. You sense that this is some type of holy item. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the jackblade is as some type of weapon. Also, it seems to have some sort of enhancive properties. It also appears to have a temporary modification of some kind.
It has a bonus of +10 from a normal jackblade, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it requires skill in brawling to use effectively. It also has some type of special ability, but you can't tell what yet.
The harmonics generated tell you that the jackblade does extra damage when it strikes and has been sanctified for use by a Cleric or Paladin in the fight against the undead.
The jackblade resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 5 to Brawling Ranks.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 30 times.
The jackblade looks to have a lot of charges remaining.
The jackblade resonates with your voice, revealing some details of its temporary enhancement:
The jackblade's enhancement will degrade when it scores a successful strike.
It should be able to withstand an incredible amount of uses before its enhancement has completely degraded away.
When its enhancement has degraded away, the item will lose its special ability.
You sense that the white ora jackblade will persist after its last enhancive charge has been expended.

how many points?
I can see how what I wrote could be confusing.
I was using my last purchase with points as a frame of reference as to how long it's been since I had a clue what things were worth - I did not intend to imply that I was selling points.
Apologies.
Let me just add this junk too, to see if any of it is a known commodity. Most of it is probably from early 2000s Jugg, EG, etc. Essentially, I just came back after more than a decade away, and I have bags full of junk that I cannot remember anything about... this is basic junk from an old mule that I don't suspect is worth much of anything.
a fur-handled grooved vaalorn khopesh
an aspen-hilted invar bastard sword
a wickedly sharp handaxe
a rhimar-spiked black vultite shield
a zorchar-edged rolaren scimitar
a massive blue glaes zweihander
an opaque vultite falchion
a golden orchid etched vultite wakizashi
ivory-hilted black vultite kama
pearl-handled vultite fist-scythe
a sharply curved vaalorn scythe
a gleaming eonake mace & chain
an embossed ice-blue glaes buckler
an eonake-edged vultite tower shield
a serrated rolaren knife
some silvered steel full plate
jagged black vultite khopesh
a glaes-latched dark wood pipe case
an eonake hilted skinning knife
an oak-hafted vultite greataxe
a heavy-bladed spiked vultite waraxe
I strongly suspect most of them are just fancy-looking or possibly lightly scripted basic weapons/shields with the expected enchants/flares from their respective metals. I want to say the handaxe and possibly opaque falchion have some small degree of weighting - possibly damage - but I couldn't swear to it. I seem to remember in the past that people would keep and post comprehensive lists of all of the vendors/items/properties from events but those seem to have largely gone the way of the dodo. I don't expect anyone to play message board bard here and identify every single item I posted, but if any of them stand out as being particularly interesting, I'd appreciate being told such. Thanks.
As an aside, if any such lists of old festivals and the merchants/inventory still exist, just point me in the right direction and I'll be happy to do my own sleuthing.

Likely garbage, what was the pawnshop appraised value? If under 35K or pretty near it sell it while under a dose of pure potion (or get a cleric).
If way over, get a bard and/or warrior to assess for any weighting level.

A jade-handled black ora flail.
It is impure black ora. Not black-colored ora, but actual black ora. Pawnshop owner tells me to get my evil flail out of his sight. Still cursed (curse neutralized but not removed).
Is it worth something or is it garbage?
From Duskruin? The cursed black ora things are trash, dump them down a well. They were common enough a few runs ago that you could wind up with one stuck to each of your hands in a single run.

The Ipantor Longbow's from duskruin -- +27 with decent sighting, what would that run for on average?

I had one assessed and they are somewhat sighted, they are 4k scrip so 4mil?

ah okay -- and did not know if 4mil would be an acceptable price or if that was just how it shook out.

a faenor-tipped zorchar bastard sword
+6 dex (or maybe 3 bonus)
+3 Dodge (ranks or bonus, not sure)
You carefully examine the zorchar bastard sword and determine that the weight is about 7 pounds.
AI says its standard +5 zorchar with flares
Worth anything other than 35k to the pawn?

Lumnis schedule from the dusk ruin digs. What would the value if any be for one of these?

Any idea on approximate value for this: vultite short sword - 4x, +6 CM ranks (lvl 42), +3 edged ranks (lvl 12), +4 ambush ranks (lvl 20) - void flares
Planning to offer it as 100k mb but didn't know what to set the buyout at.

Recently decided to come back for a bit and have a handful of items collecting dust, just wondering what they go for now.
a translucent thin glaes stiletto with a luminous cerulean glimaerstone core-3x truthie - scripted dagger.
a curvaceous vultite corselet outlined in thorn-edged lightless glimaerstone vinework - 4x, spiked MBP, with truthie scripts.
Some vine-inset womanly curved leathers - 4x doubles, scripted female only, think these were from Anfelt 10 or so years ago.
a black enameled sheath - the kind that makes different noises depending on flares/weighting
a rune-stitched black silk gem pouch - Only holds gems, bunch of scripts.
Also have a few off-the shelf siegery miniatures and some truthie jewelry and I'm a bit curious if they are worth anything.
