Oh there is plenty of strategy, on Kim's part, hell he got to visit Singapore on someone else's dime which he was never going to be able to do otherwise with the sanctions that are in place, he got a paid vacation with his favorite jogging bodyguards and toilet.
Wow, thought you were smarter than this.

First of all are we really going to believe a single word of NK media?
Second of all I'm pretty sure those are things Trump has agreed to, once North Korea holds up their end of the bargain.

I have a problem with putting the word "reputable" to most news outlets. In general I have a heavy mistrust of the media, and that includes conservative outlets as well.
Having said that, I haven't watched or read the news today and don't know what's being reported. But I would want to know the source of such reporting before even considering to accept what was being stated. Claims such as "informed sources", "officials who spoke on condition of anonymity", or other news outlets generally have zero credibility with me. Post an image or a short video clip in the original form, and then provide a translation, and we might be getting somewhere.

A pair of Democratic senators on Wednesday introduced an amendment to the annual defense policy bill that would stop President Trump (http://thehill.com/people/donald-trump) from withdrawing U.S. forces from South Korea without the Pentagon's input.
The amendment "would help prevent the President from making a rash decision about troop reductions on the Korean Peninsula that negatively impacts our national security," Sens. Tammy Duckworth (http://thehill.com/people/tammy-duckworth) (Ill.) and Chris Murphy (Conn.) said in a joint statement.
Introduced for the Fiscal 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the provision would stop a withdraw "unless the U.S. Secretary of Defense certifies it is in our national security interest and would not significantly undermine the security of our allies in the region."

In a tweet that should rattle Republicans who have been fawning over President Trump’s performance at the Singapore summit and unnerve Democrats who chose to equivocate for fear of being labeled as anti-diplomacy, Trump declared Wednesday morning, “Just landed – a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!” Republicans would condemn this ludicrous happy talk if uttered by a Democrat. Then again, no Democrat — even Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — would be likely to say such a blatantly false, foolish thing.
...
Before Wednesday morning’s tweet, former acting CIA director John McLaughlin predicted, “After all, Trump, who seems to live mostly in the moment and shows little understanding of causality, may simply have been seduced by the prospect of a great TV moment — which, let’s face it, it was. And he will spin that like a carnival barker in the coming days.” (Apologies to carnival barkers.) He explained:
In round one, Kim racked up win after win. After years of isolation and well-deserved shunning by the international community, he got a coming-out party hosted by the leader of the world’s greatest power proclaiming he’s “honored” to meet him. Kim’s biggest score, though, was Trump’s pledge to end U.S.–South Korean military exercises on the peninsula and a presidential pledge to consider ending the U.S. troop presence. This is something North Korea and China have wanted for years, and it is an absolutely stunning giveaway of U.S. leverage with no price asked. Trump will regret this.
He's right you know. Just the tweet about there not being a nuclear threat from NK anymore should get trump ripped right the fuck off AF1 and thrown in an mental health institution for observation.

BEIJING — The concessions President Trump floated during his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are drawing growing criticism from members of Trump’s own party, who argue that Trump gave up too much during the talks.
Chinese officials, by contrast, couldn’t be happier (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/the-big-winner-of-the-trump-kim-summit-china/ar-AAyATdW?ocid=spartanntp) with Trump’s pledge to halt joint military exercises with South Korea and eventually withdraw the 28,500 American troops stationed there.
“We have always believed that the use of force, or the threat of the use of force, is not a good thing,” Yu Dunhai, a counselor in China’s foreign ministry, told me during a roundtable with a small group of reporters here.
Yu said that the Singapore summit itself — and the fact that the US and North Korea have committed to holding ongoing talks — meant that Washington didn’t need to keep troops in South Korea much longer.
“If North Korea is no longer an issue, what’s the purpose to still have the troops there?” Yu asked. “If there is no terrorist, if there is no enemy, why do we need those troops?”
He's got a good point. If there's no more nuclear threat because trump just fixed all that shit real quick like over in Singapore and previously on twitter then there's really no reason to keep troops in Korea. We can close up shop and bring them all home. No more provocations that will hurt our new buddy's feelings.

From the article I posted earlier:
Defense Secretary James Mattis (http://thehill.com/people/james-mattis) on Monday said the U.S. will not pull any of its 28,500 troops from the Korean peninsula.
"We're not engaged in any reduction of U.S. forces talks, and I think we all wait until after this settles and we go forward," Mattis said of the talks between Trump and Kim.

Yes, I saw that quote. It's a damn shame. Mattis does a lot of talking that he can't back up.
My assumption is that he wants to make these statements in public to let trump know his preferences but it's really not up to Mattis and he knows that. Mattis can say anything he wants but a pissy trump tweet will turn it on it's head.

Am I understanding this right? A Republican is calling for a reduction in our troops in foreign countries and Democrats are throwing a fit about it?
It really is opposite world with Trump as president isn't it?
I do agree with Democrats though to an extent; let's not withdraw our troops from South Korea too prematurely, but if it turns North Korea makes peace with South Korea, opens up their country, gets rid of their nukes and their nuclear program, and stops with their hostile bullshit then why do we need to continue having troops stationed in South Korea?

Not only that but we shit on Canada and the G7 in order to show Kim that trump isn't weak going into these negotiations. So to summarize; we threw our allies under the bus, sucked up to one of the worlds worst dictators, then declared Mission Accomplished giving them leverage to ask us to leave.

They will never denuclearize. Kims been in power since 2011 and he broke the bank to shoot off 80 some rockets and get his weapon dialed in enough to be a real threat. Hes not giving them up. He won't have to now either. Hes shown good faith and trumps been running his mouth speaking glowingly of Kim. When trump flip flops Kim will claim trump is now acting in bad faith therefore he has no obligation to continue with denuclearization. When this happens, he'll be right, and the U.S. will have a difficult time finding allies in the U.N.

This is the first time he has put into writing that he agrees to denuclearization. That's a positive step in the right direction, is it not?
First time?
What: Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons When: December 12, 1985 What happened? North Korea signs onto this landmark treaty—190 countries are currently members—but makes its membership contingent on the US withdrawing nuclear weapons from South Korea, which doesn’t happen for several years, buying North Korea time to build its nuclear capabilities.
What: Joint Declaration of the Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula When: January 20, 1992 What happened? North and South Korea sign an agreement that “the South and the North shall not test, manufacture, produce, receive, possess, store, deploy or use nuclear weapons.” In February of 1993, suspicion that North Korea is violating its commitments creates tension over inspections, leading to further delays.
What: Agreed Framework When: October 21, 1994 What happened? North Korea promises to stop plutonium production in exchange for much-needed supplies. This mostly holds up until 2002, when the US discovers that North Korea has secretly been enriching uranium for nuclear weapons. By the end of that year, Kim Jong Il kicks out all international inspectors. On January 10, 2003, North Korea officially withdraws from the 1985 nonproliferation treaty.
What: Six-Party Talks When: September 19, 2005 What happened? After several rounds of intense talks with South Korea, China, Japan, the US, and Russia, North Korea pledges to abandon “all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs.” The US and North Korea can’t agree on verification details, though, leading to increased hostilities.
What: Six-Party Talks (Again) When: October 3, 2007 What happened? In a joint statement, North Korea agrees to declare all of its nuclear programs, shut down those affiliated with its weapons program, and not to transfer “nuclear materials, technology, or know-how.” Once again, stakeholders can’t agree on a verification process.
What: US Agreement When: February 29, 2012 What happened? North Korea agrees to suspend nuclear tests and uranium enrichment, and said it will allow inspectors, in exchange for food aid. Two weeks later, North Korea announces plans to launch a satellite, which immediately unwinds the deal.

Asked during an Air Force One interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier about meeting with a leader who is “clearly executing people”, Mr Trump lauded Mr Kim as a “tough guy” who had demonstrated his prowess by inheriting power as a young man.
“Hey, when you take over a country - tough country, tough people - and you take it over from your father, I don’t care who you are, what you are, how much of an advantage you have - if you could do that at 27 years old, I mean, that’s one in 10,000 that could do that”, said Mr Trump, who is himself the scion of a powerful family.
“So he’s a very smart guy,” Mr Trump added. “He’s a great negotiator”.
Pressed by Mr Baier, who said Mr Kim has “done some really bad things”, Mr Trump responded that “so have a lot of other people”.
“I mean, I could go through a lot of nations where a lot of bad things were done”, Mr Trump said.

The largest obstacle in reaching an agreement with North Korea will be providing security assurances for Kim. The only way for North Korea to enjoy greater prosperity, which is what Trump is offering, is for the country to have greater contact with the outside world. That contact will bring with it the startling realization by North Koreans that they are not, as they have been told all their lives, citizens of the world's most prosperous and powerful country ruled by the world's most respected man. When they learn about greater freedoms in other places, they will throw Kim in jail.
Trump's mission is to assure Kim that the United States will continue to support Kim's brutal suppression of North Korea's population, which is estimated at 25 million. Think it through, and you will realize that it's not a sustainable promise. I bet Kim has thought it through.

You're all missing the trees for the forest. It's not about whether anyone believes NK media. It's that there's no way to know if they're lying. We know the little letter they signed which says nothing. We know the robust praise from trump to Kim. "He's a tough guy" when asked about murdering people, "He's talented" when asked about Kim being a dictator. The President of the USA is defending the dictator of North Korea tyranny. It doesn't even matter if they're lying. NK has enough real material to report that is uber positive for their Supreme Leader.
BTW: Trump says people, thousands apparently, asked him to bring their sons who died there during the war to be brought home to be buried. Isn't that amazing. Who knew parents of Korean War veterans had such longevity.

GOP Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) blasted the Trump administration's decision to halt military exercises with South Korea as part of the ongoing negotiations with North Korea.
"Suspending U.S.-South Korea joint military exercises is a mistake. Making unnecessary and unreciprocated concessions is not in our interests—and it is a bad negotiating tactic," McCain said in a statement on Thursday.
Trump announced after his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that the United States will stop “war games” with South Korea “unless and until” negotiations with the North go poorly.
Agence France-Presse reported on Thursday that the Pentagon had “suspended indefinitely” large-scale military exercises with South Korea.
A U.S. official told AFP that “major military exercises have been suspended indefinitely on the Korean peninsula.”
Trump's comments sparked confusion among international allies and with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
McCain, on Thursday, also knocked Trump for calling the war games with South Korea "provocative" saying the president was "parroting Chinese and North Korean propaganda."
Wait a minute. Are we actually doing this? A couple days have passed since trump dropped this little bombshell and they're starting to get their talking points together.
If Mattis was aware that Trump was going to announce a suspension of military exercises, he apparently did not share that information with the South Koreans or with the military organization most directly affected: U.S. Forces Korea.
That U.S. command said it had "received no updated guidance on the execution or cessation of training exercises."
The South Korean government also appeared caught off guard. Seoul's presidential office told The Associated Press that it was trying to parse Trump's comments. The South Korean military seemed similarly surprised.
"At this current point, there is a need to discern the exact meaning and intent of President Trump's comments," Seoul's Defense Ministry said, adding that there have been no discussions yet with Washington on modifying drills set for August.
A degree of confusion arose after Vice President Mike Pence spoke to senators at a lunch closed to media coverage. Sen. Cory Gardner, Republican of Colorado, said Pence indicated that "exercises will continue," although Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, said this referred to routine, daily training in South Korea, not the large-scale war games that Trump said are suspended.

At one point, after watching North Korean television, which is entirely state-run, the president talked about how positive the female North Korean news anchor was toward Kim, according to two people familiar with his remarks. He joked that even the administration-friendly Fox News was not as lavish in its praise as the state TV anchor, one of the people added, and that maybe she should get a job on U.S. television, instead.
The Donald is digging that NKTV. Oh ya, he almost ducked the whole stupid summit up because he got bored and, wanted to do it a day early.

Stop grading Donald Trump on a curve when it comes to North Korea. The job of the president of the United States is to keep the American people safe and defend U.S. national security interests. No matter how bad Trump may be at his job, he must be held to the same standard as other presidents. Coming out of the Singapore summit meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, many people are claiming that we are now in a better place than we were when Trump was threatening war.
If you feel yourself breathing a sigh of relief and thanking Trump, please stop. Of course, any diplomacy is better than war, but that’s not the point. The choice between war and diplomacy is a false one fabricated by the president over the past year. He threatened to start an unnecessary and preventive war with North Korea. Now he is claiming to have saved everyone from the danger of nuclear war that he caused in the first place. Trump is both the arsonist and firefighter.
We're closer to war with North Korea than we've ever been. Look at how trump flipped on Trudea. They were bros there for a minute but a little adversity and trump wigs out on twitter. With Kim the stakes are higher than a trade war. If Kim fails to deliver and trump gets pressure in the media about it there's no telling what he'll do.
It's also disturbing that he apparently doesn't realize Kim isn't the decision maker in NK. I wonder how well we've cultivated influence with the people around him?

I think you're all upset because you thought the summit was such a great thing. Wait until kim and trump screw each other over. Trump won't have many options. He's got himself backed into a corner with all that talk about how solved the problem and NK is no threat anymore. Kim's not even the guy in charge over there.

One would think. Consider that there are some old ass leaders there who were fighting the west with his grandfather Kim Il-sung. Do you really think those commies that survived all these years of political in-fighting just give the power over to his fat ass spoiled grandson because he's the grandson? I think they let him have his toys, his Dennis Rodmans and his K-pop concert but I'll give you a million dollars (which I don't have) if he's actually in charge of anything.

I completely expect Kim to be a little dick, if I remember correctly his dad fucked over Clinton towards the end of Bills 2nd term. I admit though, the more I think about the whole political landscape there's a very good chance this all works out pretty well. I really can't think of any good reason why China would want N. Korea not to be able to join in the worlds economy. One of Trumps best picks when he took office was Governor Branstad as ambassador to China, Terry had already worked with the leaders of China for years on trade agreements and has more of a friendship relationship with the Chinese president.

Really I think all the hold up is, how is this done so Kim and his "party" members don't face a world court. Are they to be forgiven if they do follow through and make real strides towards joining the rest of the modern world? It would be pretty awesome if this turned out like Japan has. I fully expect the same type of summits with Russia over the coming years, especially if Trump gets a 2nd term.

Is Shep Smith's program considered Fake News? Where do you all draw the line? He's on Fox which seems to be proof that he's not Fake News but then again he says uncomfortable truths to the trump supporters and that usually gets a fake news label.
https://youtu.be/SkHyH57ICvY
I guess it is fake news according to trump. Do you all think Shep Smith spreads fake news too?
President Trump on Sunday took aim at the media for its critical coverage of his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
"Funny how the Fake News, in a coordinated effort with each other, likes to say I gave sooo much to North Korea because I 'met,'" Trump tweeted.
"That's because that's all they have to disparage! We got so much for peace in the world, & more is being added in finals. Even got our hostages/remains!" he added.

Is Trump Heading Back to ‘Fire and Fury’ With Kim?
The forecast is for calm, more calm, then the storm of the century. You may want a bomb shelter after all.
“The most damaging aspect of the summit is having compromised U.S. security by handing Kim a blank check with which to further advance his nuclear capability,” Sung-Yoon Lee of the Fletcher School at Tufts pointed out to The Daily Beast. “Sanctions enforcement will fizzle out, diplomatic pressure will dissipate, and China and South Korea will be empowered to return to generous subsidization of the Kim regime.”We all know what happens when Trump feels he has been played. Just ask Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of a country that runs a trade deficit with the one Trump governs. Trump had no substantial trade grievance against Canada, but an annoyed Trump hit back hard nonetheless at the now infamous G-7 in Quebec.
Imagine what an enraged Trump will do to Kim. The United States has overwhelming power it can bring to bear on not only North Korea but also its big power sponsors, China, now plagued by a slowing and debt-ridden economy, and Russia, which is always dependent on energy prices.

SEOUL—North Korea is completing a major expansion of a key missile-manufacturing plant, said researchers who have examined new satellite imagery of the site the latest sign Pyongyang is pushing ahead with weapons programs even as the U.S. pressures it to abandon them.
The facility makes solid-fuel, ballistic missiles—which would be able to strike U.S. military installations in Asia with a nuclear weapon with little warning—as well as re-entry vehicles for warheads that Pyongyang might use on longer-range missiles able to hit the continental U.S.

According to the Post, officials from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and representatives from United Nations Command were left waiting in the Joint Security Area of the Korean Peninsula’s demilitarized zone on July 12, although it is unclear why the North Korean counterparts failed to attend.
“We were ready,” according to one anonymous official who spoke to the Post. “It just didn’t happen. They didn’t show.”
This move was clearly a surprise: According to Stars and Stripes, Pentagon officials “have been on standby for weeks and have sent wooden coffins and flags to Panmunjom in preparation for a handover” to U.S. government officials.
Around 7,700 American service members remain unaccounted for from the Korean War, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency; of those, 5,300 are believed to be located within North Korea.
It’s worth noting that the repatriation of military remains was virtually the only solid point of agreement between Washington and Pyongyang following the historic summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un on June 12.
Trump claimed in late June that the repatriation of the remains of U.S. service members killed on the peninsula during the three-year conflict was already underway, telling a crowd during a Minnesota campaign rally that “we got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back.”
The current status of such transfers remains unclear (https://taskandpurpose.com/north-korea-pow-mia-remains/).

Diplomats say the North Koreans have canceled follow-up meetings, demanded more money and failed to maintain basic communications, even as the once-isolated regime’s engagements with China and South Korea flourish.
Meanwhile, a missile-engine testing facility that Trump said would be destroyed remains intact, and U.S. intelligence officials say Pyongyang is working to conceal key aspects of its nuclear program.
The lack of immediate progress, though predicted by many analysts, has frustrated the president, who has fumed at his aides in private even as he publicly hails the success of the negotiations.

It's all such a bullshit dog and pony show. Everyone said that from the beginning and the trumplicans couldn't accept it. They had all kinds of high faluting reasons why this was such a great thing. Now that the advice is proving to be correct they're amending their hopes and past statements. If trump was a CEO he'd be fired for taking such a big shot and missing. 8 years of relative peace and prosperity just weren't enough for them. Obama is the devil but trump is the greatest. We're so fucked until that portion of the citizenry gets their heads out of their asses long enough to take a deep breath and clear their senses.

In a just world he would have. In this country and with this power structure in place it's too little too late. The right's in control and they absolutely will not police themselves. In the meantime they're still advancing Russian propaganda. As you pointed out the other day, these fucks we see here are spreading it along with millions of others on different platforms.
However, #WalkAway has also now been connected to Kremlin-linked Russian bots, and it is now the seventh most popular Russia-influenced hashtag as of this writing, according to the website Hamilton 68, which tracks Russian influence on Twitter as part of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, an initiative of the nonpartisan German Marshall Fund. The purpose of this now-astroturf campaign is to manipulate public opinion by creating the illusion that this is a popular movement. In reality, #WalkAway has become pure propaganda, a psychological operation.
Some of the tweets using the hashtag condemn illegal immigration, claim "Blacks were sold a false bill of goods," and proclaim "the African-American community is leaving the Democrat plantation in droves." Candace Owens, an African-American conservative and communications director of Turning Point USA -- a pro-Trump student political group with a "Professor Watchlist" database that tracks professors who "discriminate against conservative students" — has promoted the #WalkAway hashtag. Owens, who has called police brutality a myth and said "unlimited illegal immigration has harmed the black community for decades," claims black voters are walking away from the Democratic Party.

Here's some new Spicey spin and he touches on the NK subject and trumps lying. Beautiful euphemisms these folks use to reconcile their aversion to the truth. "alternative realty" and "exaggerated hyperbole". WOW. Not just hyperbole, but exaggerated hyperbole from a douchey salesman. These republicans really picked us a winner to run the country.
WP:According to our paper’s tracking, the president has made more than 3,200 false or misleading claims since taking office. Do you agree he regularly says things that are untrue?
Spicey: What’s the phrase, exaggerated hyperbole? I think that’s a phrase he’s used. There’s no question that he’s a salesman at heart, and he tends to think everything is the best and the greatest. But that’s the nature of who he is.
WP: What’s the best advice he ever gave you?
Spicey: I don’t know that I’ve really thought about that. A lot of times it’s subtle. It’s “Do this this way” or “call that person.” A lot of it is just plain marketing, and he would explain why it’s just better to do it a certain way. And you’d think about it and think, You know what, that makes a lot more sense. He never felt constrained by historical norms and protocols. It’s like his meeting with Kim [Jong Un]. He just said, “Put me in a room with Kim.” Every single secretary and deputy secretary wigs out because that’s not how it’s supposed to work. And his view is, “Great, I don’t care how it’s supposed to work. I’m going to do it my way.”

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has started dismantling a missile-engine test site, as President Trump said the North’s leader, Kim Jong-un, promised he would during their historic summit meeting in Singapore in June, according to an analysis of satellite imagery of the location.
The North Koreans have started taking apart the engine test stand at the Sohae Satellite Launching Station, said Joseph S. Bermudez Jr., an expert on North Korea’s weapons programs, in a report published on Monday on the website 38 North. The dismantling work probably began sometime within the last two weeks, he said.
North Korea has also started dismantling a rail-mounted building at the Sohae station where workers used to assemble space launch vehicles before moving them to the launchpad, Mr. Bermudez said.

WASHINGTON — (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/nkorea-provided-just-1-dog-tag-with-55-sets-of-war-remains/ar-BBLk6n3?ocid=spartandhp)When North Korea handed over 55 boxes of bones that it said are remains of American war dead, it provided a single military dog tag but no other information that could help U.S. forensics experts determine their individual identities, a U.S. defense official said Tuesday.
The official, who discussed previously undisclosed aspects of the remains issue on condition of anonymity, said it probably will take months if not years to fully determine individual identities from the remains, which have not yet been confirmed by U.S. specialists to be those of American servicemen.
The official did not know details about the single dog tag, including the name on it, or whether it was even that of an American military member. During the Korean War, combat troops of 16 other United Nations member countries fought alongside U.S. service members on behalf of South Korea. Some of them, including Australia, Belgium, France and the Philippines, have yet to recover some of their war dead from North Korea.
This is a disgrace. I hope it works out, just like I hope denuclearization works out, but I am pessimistic. Part of the problem is that trumplicans were so relieved to get this little win to avoid holding their dear leader to account for his failed N. Korean summit.
In the past when they've done this, they included animal bones with our service members remains.
Remains that were returned in the past from North Korea were found to be mixed with those of unidentified individuals and even with animal bones.

This is why no one takes you serious. You complain when hes undiplomatic, you complain when hes diplomatic. Yes, how they treated the remains is appalling but it is still better than not getting them back. I genuinely think you don't want this denuclearization to succeed just so there is something else you can complain about Trump for, though I'm sure even if it does there will be some small aspect you knitpick and complain about anyways.

One can't be both diplomatic and undiplomatic and that's trumps problem. He's proven to be a liar and fickle. His mood and ideas are blown on the wind like a feather. Nothing he says can be trusted and all nations now know that the USA is a fair weather friend, unpredictable and unreliable. This will come back to hurt us later in ways we don't know yet.
And no, it's better to leave the remains there in North Korea than to have had the summit with Kim. We dishonor their sacrifice by having a president who gushes over their boy dictator. What the hell did those men die for if we're just going to prop up a murderous dictator because he's nice to trump? This brings us to the real problem. Trump leads the USA based on his feels and if people say nice things about him or not. It's why he wants to bail out farmers from his bullshit tariffs when other Americans will be hurting too. Have you not figured this out yet? It's no way to run a country of over 300 million people.
Trump already dishonored the fallen by lying about having received 200+ back weeks ago. Why do you not care that he lied about that?
You've been had by trump. He conned you and you like it apparently. It's appalling how trumplicans still suck his dick and pretend it's patriotic.
From a June 23rd article:
President Trump said North Korea has returned the remains of 200 U.S. or allied service members lost in the Korean War following his summit with the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, earlier this month.
Trump, speaking at the Nevada GOP convention in Las Vegas, touted his relationship with North Korea since taking office.
"We have a good chemistry together," Trump said. "We have a great chairman, Kim, we have great chemistry."
This from Time on June 21st:
“We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back,” Trump told a rally in Duluth, Minnesota Wednesday, according to Reuters.

Keep crying wolf and eventually people stop listening.
Eventually? Welcome to 2012. cwolff has always been a little bitch.. President Trump just magnified it.
Also: If you continue to upset him with your mean words.. and YOU WILL BE ON HIS IGNORE LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

North Korea has not stopped its nuclear and missile programmes, violating UN sanctions, a report commissioned by the UN Security Council says.
It also says Pyongyang has resorted to a "massive increase" of illegal ship-to-ship transfers of oil products and has been trying to sell weapons abroad.
…
Last week, US officials said Pyongyang appeared to be building new ballistic missiles despite recent warming ties with US President Donald Trump's administration and pledges to denuclearise.
...
The report said: "[North Korea] has not stopped its nuclear and missile programmes and continued to defy Security Council resolutions through a massive increase in illicit ship-to-ship transfers of petroleum products, as well as through transfers of coal at sea during 2018."
...
It said that Pyongyang also "attempted to supply small arms and lights weapons and other military equipment via foreign intermediaries" to Libya, Yemen and Sudan.
The experts concluded that North Korea's activities had made financial sanctions ineffective.
...
He also said he had seen reports that Russia was issuing permits allowing North Koreans to work on its territory, defying the sanctions.
"I want to remind every nation that has supported these resolutions that this is a serious issue and something that we will discuss with Moscow.
"We expect the Russians and all countries to abide by the UN Security Council resolutions and enforce sanctions on North Korea," Mr Pompeo said.
Russia has denied a report by the Wall Street Journal that it was letting thousands new North Korean labourers into the country.
So North Korea is not stopping their program and even now may be building new weapons We've known that for a week. I didn't realize they were selling small arms and sending workers to Russia. All of that in violation of sanctions and the things trump says he got from them at the summit.
Now what? We've shot our wad and they didn't change direction. Back to threatening war? More sanctions? Actual war? This is why you don't rush off to haphazard summits. If trump pulls a rabbit out of a hat and gets them to cooperate and denuclearize I'll give him all the credit. It doesn't look good though.

Well, we could draw an imaginary red line and see if they dare to cross it.. and if they do, ignore it...
That was our previous policy...

Ok, enough of the histrionics dipshit. The US came to a crossroads, they were:
1. Keep doing the shit we were doing and pretty much end up in yet another war.
2. Try a summit and maybe avoid yet another war.
Trump picked #2 and said all along, that we would wait and see. Well, so far, we got back some remains, Kim maybe played nice a little and we are waiting to see if anything else happens. You and Leftist shills everywhere are just screaming it's a failure and are beating the drums of war as hard as you can. Why do you want war so much? Why can't you give peace a chance? What we were/are doing is not getting us the results we want and yet you want more of the same, why?
I suspect the answer is that you are simply so incensed that Trump won, that he says mean things and isn't a Socialist that you would rather send more Americans to fight and die on foreign shores rather than even try some talks.
Why do you want to be a murderer? Why do you want to send your neighbors and communities kids to their deaths just to spite Trump?

Not really. We didn't come to a crossroads. Trump threatened war in all caps and then took credit for avoiding the war he threatened. And yes he backpedaled almost from the beginning. Downplayed it and did his best to lower expectations. If you're gonna do that, don't do the summit in the first place. You just make NK look good and the U.S. look weak.
There's a reason why diplomacy is hard work. Why countries put intense preparation into setting up a summit. Trump's going to learn it the hard way. He is showing the world that if you have nukes or in the case of Iran just threaten it, you get a summit. If theres any takeaway from trump it's this: Get nukes as soon as possible.

You believe yourself to be under attack without the self awareness of knowing that you're getting back what you give. If you want to pretend to be a martyr, that's fine. Don't expect anyone to help you down off your cross, we're going to hurl the shit you've simply thrown at us right back.
