We did pass the bill that became law. It's called the Insurrection Act and has been law in this country for 200+ years.
It is literally called the "insurrection" act. Are you saying that day-to-day crime is an insurrection?

The only time in recent memory that there was anything close to an insurrection the president at the time didn't call the national guard when he should have.

Since DC is not a state I can see how it can be used there. But otherwise its used as a way to give states emergency backup as I understand it. State government should have a say in it from my point of view. Otherwise you tip more power to the federal than I think it should have.

But as I've said before. If we really want to go down this road we have to do it together in a way that we all agree.

I just knew you would get hung up here.

Sometimes.. you have to be smart enough to actually look at the law and not just stop at the name of the law....... which is exactly where you failed yet again.

He did call for the National Guard. It was refused.

It has literally nothing to do with DC not being a state. Literally nothing.

I'll put this as simply as I can for you:

The Insurrection Act gives the President of the United States the authority to deploy federal troops within the country in certain circumstances.. one of these is that law enforcement is either unable or unwilling to enforce the law.

Notice how it doesn't give Congress... or the Governor.. or the Mayor.... it gives the power to the President.

But as I've said before. If we really want to go down this road we have to do it together in a way that we all agree.
You keep saying this... and every time you have, it's been debunked.

Again.. you believe you somehow have a say in the matter. You literally don't.

Republicans hold the White House, the House and the Senate. They don't need to have any limp wristed liberals to agree with them.

    Elections have consequences.

It was Pence who called. It took the department of defense 3 hours to approve it.

How much disinformation do you want to post in one thread? Shouldn't you spread it out?

Jan 3rd: Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller was instructed by Trump to “do whatever was necessary to protect the demonstrators” on January 6th.
