Nice try but that's BS. The only reason they haven't been successful is because of the Republican filibuster.

A) I literally just got finished saying they only introduced these pieces of legislation when they didn't control both houses, which means the filibuster doesn't even matter.
B) They could have passed it when they had a supermajority in the Senate in 2009, or when they had a supermajority in the Senate from 1975-1979, or when they had a supermajority from 1959-1969.
C) Democrats had plenty of chances to use the "nuclear option" to get rid of the filibuster altogether and ram through their legislation.

But, again, Democrats don't really want to lose their power to gerrymander the shit out states they control. And no House member is going to seriously consider getting rid of gerrymandering and risk losing their seat.

I'm glad you brought that up because of the Senate it is another issue. California has the same power in the Senate as Kansas despite vastly different populations and economies. Not saying anything bad about Kansas... Or any other less populated lower GDP States.
