Bloat, fraud, corruption... all are leeches that need to be removed. No one is against that. I'm certainly not. I think we've pretty much established that welfare is a last resort and a lifestyle no one could possibly want.
I thought we agreed that welfare was something people would not aspire to unless they had to, that it was a last resort, but now you want to call it a reward for not working? We pay the bill, yes, and its fucking brilliant that we can and do so that our less fortunate brothers and sisters living in this wonderful country can at least not die in the street broke and alone. I guess we disagree that welfare is a reward rather than a minimal safety net for the needy. I guess we differ in our view that if there is anyone who wants to live on welfare let them.
It is redistribution from an imbalance. History shows that human resources were more equitably distributed in the past then gradually squeezed to the top by a few over time. All redistribution is by force it just depends on who is doing the forcing. The wealthy have been forcing it to themselves as they have learned to do.
I disagree with fairness not being included in one of America's greatest accomplishments. Everything else you mention is also partly about how America got to where it is but fairness, compassion, and heart have also played major roles.
I think this line is a soundbite of capitalist propaganda meant to sound important but it really does not paint the full picture and does not really say anything meaningful. There is more to our existences than being wage slaves to corporations our entire lives and that we should be grateful for it. The real reward for all our hard work is the culture we share and enjoy.
Your post sounds like you used ChatGPT to refute my post then edited in your own capitalist propaganda soundbites.
True equality may be a dream but it is a good dream that we can make a reality if we try.
