Who would want any member of their family driving a Tesla?

This just might be the first time in the history of cars that someone who caused a crash and killed people insisted they did everything right but that their car was to blame.

Oh, wait, no, that happens all the time. But now that the car is a Tesla this is super duper 100% accurate without a single doubt and this couldn't possibly be someone just trying to avoid the consequences of their actions.

Shortly after the car ignited into flames before burning down to the ground as seen in the photos released by Tv2.no. Firefighters took longer than normal to extinguish the fire, because unlike a traditional fire where water is used as the extinguishing agent, fires in electric vehicles need to be extinguished using a different methodology.

Updated Jan 2, 2016: Per safety information from Tesla, no amount of regular water could be used to extinguish electrical fires, so the Model S was left to burn to the end without intervention from local firefighters. According to Norway’s FVN, “Only way to extinguish the fire in electric cars is by using water with a copper material. It is too costly for the Norwegian fire departments have started using it.”

SUPRISE!!!!! You are so full of shit! Pennies are 2.5% copper, they are mostly zinc. That means about 500 metric tons of copper. Add in the rest of the coinage and you get up to 25000 metric tons of copper a year.

About 2 million metric tons of copper are used in the US per year. So all coinage represents about 1.25% of US copper consumption, of which quarters are about half.

There are some good reasons to eliminate small coinage, but "it will noticeably help with a copper shortage" isn't really one of them.
