Some posts are so monumentally retarded they are undeserving of civil discourse. As an example, if someone were to claim our world is actually flat and quoted some opinion article by a flat-earther (trying to find something we can agree is absurd with this example) do you feel compelled to have an honest good-faith discussion on that topic? Maybe you would. I don’t have that kind of time or patience. Best to call said person a retard and move on.

ClydeR’s daily EDS rant about how Tesla is “doomed” is undeserving of an adult conversation. Nobody is mad. In fact, I quite enjoy ClydeR’s ridiculous posts. That doesn’t mean, however, that it deserves cordial civil dialogue. Same goes for you when you post incredibly ridiculous nonsense like “might as well be ovens” or whatever stupid thing you posted not long ago. I’ll just take the opportunity to make fun of you for those things. If, however, you do have something compelling to write and it’s based in reality…I’ll likely engage you in such civil discourse.

For Back’s sake and in the effort of civil dialogue I’ll engage just this once.

Steve Jobs was an asshole. He wasn’t a philanthropist. He had an ego arguably even bigger than Trump. He was outspoken for his time. He took credit for ideas that were not his own. He ran Apple with an iron fist and generally treated his direct employees like shit. What he was great at is identifying markets and applying innovative products to enrich people’s lives.

I say all this for a couple reasons.

1) Corporate image and these rankings mean a lot less than you think it does. People didn’t buy the iMac, iPod, iPhone, etc. because of how they felt about Steve Jobs or Apple as a feel good company. People don’t really care about Chick-Fil-A being a good Christian company that is closed on Sundays. Yeah people say they care about it but few actually do. They’re successful because they make a damn good chicken sandwich and their establishments are family friendly. In a year or two just as Tesla replaces their model lineup and people forget about Musk & DOGE when they are chasing the next news cycle, liberals will be preordering their new cars.

2) You can think whatever you want about Musk and politics, but you sound like a dumbfuck loser to deny that he is a successful innovator and businessman. You made this mistake before as well when you ridiculed Bill Gates for not doing so great in a game of chess. People can be brilliant in one area but that doesn’t apply to all things in life. I myself have no real interest in Teslas because I’ve always enjoyed combustion engines & will be a hold out on old school technology, but I can’t deny they are great cars for what they are. What Elon has done with Tesla is incredible. People told him (myself would be in this category back then) it is impossible to create and come to market in America an automotive company. Try your best to see past your EDS and give the man credit where credit is due.

I normally don’t attempt to speak on behalf of an entire mass group of people & play identity politics, but I can say with complete confidence that for all the sane non-retarded people on the PC with real meaningful lives… Absolutely 0 of us get upset or angry at ANY post, least of all the ones from the deranged retards.
