Greenland
President Donald Trump has said he believes the US will gain control of Greenland, after showing renewed interest in acquiring the autonomous Danish territory in recent weeks.
"I think we're going to have it," he told reporters on Air Force One on Saturday, adding that the island's 57,000 residents "want to be with us".
His comments come after reports that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen insisted Greenland was not for sale in a fiery phone call with the president last week.

Do you think Trump is correct about the people of Greenland preferring to be U.S. citizens?
- Income Taxes. Greenlanders have a maximum income tax rate of 44%, compared to 37% in the U.S. As in the U.S. most people are not taxed at the top rate.
- Retirement. In the U.S., employees must contribute 7.65% of their salaries to Social Security. There is no employee retirement tax in Greenland. Greenlanders are guaranteed a pension when they retire.
- Sales Tax. Greenland has no sales tax.
- Property Tax. Greenland has no property taxes.
- College. College is free for Greelanders. They can attend either in Greenland or in Denmark. In addition, college students receive a monthly allowance for living expenses.
- Medical. Medical services are free in Greenland.
Trump says the reason the U.S. needs Greenland is for security. There are already U.S. military bases in Greenland. The real reason is rare earth minerals. Trump wants to take Greenland from Denmark because Greenland has valuable resources. That is colonialism.
In the world I see, you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty carpool lane of some abandoned superhighway.
