I thought of the perfect solution that would make everyone happy; it would get people to pay attention to confusion and it still allows players to attack other players and thus making the world a more dangerous place: simply make it so the confused player can attack themselves, for shits and giggles when this happens give the player -200 DS and -200TD.
So the confuse status works like it does now, but when the randomness decides to attack another player make it so the confused player is one of the possible targets.
As soon as people start killing themselves you better believe they will pay attention to the confused status.
