I despise pedophiles just as much as you do, but let’s explore that.

Excluding self defense (preventing imminent & immediate serious bodily harm), smoking a pedophile would be murder & make you a murderer. Two wrongs don’t make a right. It’s not for you alone to decide a man’s fate or take his life. Civilization has law & order for good reason. I don’t feel like these are hard concepts or explaining why vigilantism is harmful to society is controversial.

A pedophile should stand trial and be severely punished for their crimes. Everyone, including the worst criminals, deserve and have a right to their day in court. I support the death penalty for sexual abuse of a child.

Oh, but if the state says I can kill the pedophile, it isn't murder but justice.

Some people deserve to die, no doubt. How that happens and who does it matters.

If the state finds the pedophile guilty with a jury trial, the convicted pedophile is sentenced to death, and the execution is carried out in accordance with the law…that is justice.

But there is no law or court to decide guilt or innocence.

Let's take the Hero of Kenosha for instance. If there was no eye witnesses or video of what happened.. and he was overcome by the mob and killed, that murder would not have been right, but you had people that to this day would say it would have been.

It took a court of law and the evidence to prove he was innocent.

Mob justice is rarely true justice.

I've said multiple times that I think everyone deserves their day in court.

Again, the argument being discussed here is that revenge and justice aren't the same. They are, revenge is just expedited.
