Scaramucci said on his podcast that the reason Trump is off the campaign trail is because Trump is contacting members of his 2016 campaign team to try to get the band back together. Scaramucci says that, although there are devices called mobile phones that would allow a person to make calls while on the road, Trump prefers to sit at his desk to make important calls.

According to the RealClearPolitics 2016 record of polls, on this date in 2016 Clinton was ahead by 6.9 points in the RCP polling average. Today, Harris is ahead by 0.5 in the RCP average.

About a week after this date in 2016, Trump shook up his campaign staff. Trump removed Paul Manafort, who later went to jail, from the position of campaign manager. Trump replaced Manafort with Steve Bannon, who is currently in jail.

I expect Trump to repeat the 2016 strategy by shaking up his campaign in the next few days. Can he repeat the 2016 comeback to eke out another electoral college win?

I thought JD Vance did pretty well in this hostile interview. Like Trump, he seems to enjoy the fight and thrives on conflict.

Kamala will say anything to get elected and change the narrative to match favorably with her audience. Nobody knows what her actual policies and positions are. Her campaign website doesn’t provide any clarity on her political agenda.

Personally, I think not taxing on tips (without other changes to our tax system) is a bad idea. I know Trump said this and hope he either changes his mind or it doesn’t happen. The reason I think it’s a bad idea is tipping culture has gotten completely out of control since Covid, and not taxing on tips would only make that much worse.

One is currently in the current administration who could do whatever she is promising to do "once she gets elected" right now.

One is currently not in the current administration.

Honestly if she actually implements right leaning proposals such as these then I am all for her being president, especially if she goes back to her prosecutor days of actually holding criminals accountable.

Be like all Democrats do, she will promise anything to get elected then go right back to screwing poor and middle class Americans as much as possible.
