You're right, in this case I didnt wait the 24 hours. I've been waiting on this shoe to drop so I ran with it. Heres the thing though, Qatar is tied to Hamas, thats where their leadership resides. They can afford to sit back and wait out the west. They are one of the richest counties in the world. All they would have to do is stop selling oil for a few months and it would shut down the west.

It wouldn’t really shut down the west, yes Qatar is wealthy, but they are wealthy because of oil. Imagine America shut down its economy for a “few months” it would wreck havoc on our economy. Next Qatar really can’t do shit unilaterally without OPECs approval, and OPEC wouldn’t do that. On top of that Qatar is one of the biggest allies to America and the west. We have an extremely strong and stable relationship with them.

I was watching a video recapping the Suez Canal crisis in 1956 when Britain and France invaded Egypt to secure this vital shipping connection. The Untied States and Russia both used their influence to end that occupation and return control to it's Arab leaders, which was only the beginning of our support of third world despots in the region over western interests. The Israel crisis is another, these same countries now pose a threat to an important ally and I think it's vital that Israel end that threat once and for all. In this I agree with you that the United States should be using it's influence to cow the miserable defiance of the region that spits in the face of the West while begging for it's money and support.
