DeSantis went after Disney when it spoke out in opposition to the Don't Say Gay bill and stopped funding Florida Republicans. Taking executive and legislative action against a company that spoke out against you? That's most certainly retaliation against free speech rights by a state government.

Honestly I think Disney would have just kept their public outcry just that, but once that board i think violated the contract rules that’s really why Disney went out this way. They cite first amendment speech as part of it but I think their real argument against desantis comes from the contract concern. I also think when this goes to court that is going to be what holds more water than anything else.

But I can say this. I’m 99% sure any state would make this agreement with Disney in a heart beat. Knowing the revenue, tourism and the jobs they give and provide.

I know Virginia also has rules for incentives to attract businesses, that’s why NOVA is getting buried in data centers. So I don’t think it’s that out of bounds this exists. I would both the money hungry corporations and the states themselves bear equal blame in these spots.

Not to mention, he specifically states in his memoir that he attacked and went after Disney because they used their first amendment right and voiced their opposition. Clear violation of the constitution

Pictures of him grooming his underaged students with booze at parties were all over the news. Hell, Trump himself posted them. I'm literally speaking about the Florida Law that makes it illegal for "Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

I get why you are still upset over this bill.. it literally makes grooming elementary kids illegal in Florida.

I could care less if it’s taken away. I care about DeSantis blatant disregard for the first amendment, and using the US government for a retaliatory attack against a business that disagrees with him.

A clear violation of the US Constitution and US law.
No matter what you think of Disney or any other company, Republicans are a party of law, DeSantis is clearly violating the law and the constitution, you should care about that.
