Perhaps I'm misreading the transcripts you provided, but it seems like they hit you for GMA related to exploiting how the reim bosses spawn and not completing the quest as designed. As someone who ran Reim daily for years on end, the boss mechanics are clearly designed to allow each quest participant to individually complete the quest. The respawn mechanics facilitate the use-case of failing to complete the quest and giving the individual additional opportunities to do so.
It beggars belief that you didn't understand that this was an exploit. Did you think that Staff intended for you to be able to generate 4-to-5 pieces of pawnable gear over and over again through NOT completing the quest? All that said, I do think Simutronics does an absolute shit job of communicating changes, documenting policy, and fixing defects. You actually got off with a fairly reasonable punishment. Reminds me of the first rule of holes...
To be clear, this isn't specific to Reim as I believe Izzy pointed out. All paid quests – including Troubled Waters, Night at the Academy, Return to Black Swan Castle – were exempted from the loot cap.
This is a very good point, and it's especially troubling when Wyrom is booting people out of Discord for dissent but allowing them to retain their active subscription to the game. It essentially ensures that you're going to miss crucial communication that can be leveraged against you when resolving disputes.
