Most countries with a VAT also have separate taxes on income, profits and other transactions. Member states of the EU certainly do. Republicans instead just want to bankrupt our country by adopting a regressive VAT only system. Dumb dumb dumb.

Then they don't have real VAT system in place. A VAT system replaces the current system we have and the need for a gigantic IRS wouldn't be needed.

With a total VAT system in place in the United States, we also wouldn't need Social Security, Medicare, the Armed Forces or any host of other programs that we couldn't pay any longer. But you know all this as your peeps have brought VAT up over and over again on this board and both here and in Congress the idea was viciously shot down as stupid, impractical and a pie in the sky attempt to once again, make sure the wealthy don't have to pay much in taxes.

Add taxation to things you should stop talking about since you know nothing about it and have no real experience with it.
