Because you're overlooking the massive amounts of money we spent rescuing Afghanistan from the Taliban protected Al Queda. I'm guessing because Trump signed a treaty with the Taliban essentially ceding control of the country back to them.

I imagine if we'd had a trillion in costs fighting Russia in Ukraine, the massive defense corporations receiving much much more investment would have Republicans singing a different tune.
