I would have to go with Reagan. He was the right man at the right time.

Also, Reagan and Thatcher combined, were an unstoppable force.

Do you really believe I think President Trump is the "greatest President in the history of the United States"?

Nearly 1500 Russian troops, including the Colonel, of the 200th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade were killed in fighting near Kharkiv. The 200th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade is considered one of the "elite" formations of the Russian military, with fully modern equipment.

As of now, 8 Russian Generals and 14 Colonels have been killed in action. 9 more generals have been arrested. This also comes at a time when the Russian minister of defense is "incapacitated by illness" having allegedly suffered a heart attack.

I found it interesting that Russia does not have/use NCOs (noncommissioned officers). In the US our commissioned officers don’t fight on the front lines, but that’s not the case for Russia.

Officers absolutely are on the frontlines, there are just a lot less of them. Generally Captains and below though. An entire Marine Infantry Company, for instance, might have 6 or 7 total officers, usually less, out of about 160 Marines. My Platoon Leader, a 1st Lieutenant, got blown up by an IED right in front of me. He survived because most of it didn't detonate.

Flag officers and Colonels are rarely in a place they can really be threatened, but my old BC (A Lieutenant Colonel) got killed in Iraq from a suicide bomber. That is an extremely rare event, so rare it was the cover of the Marine Times.

Thanks for sharing your insight and your service. I know that’s cliché and all, but I mean it sincerely.

Edit to add: I obviously didn’t serve and know little about our military command structure, but enough to understand NCOs vs COs. The article I read which I can’t find now stated this was a big reason we hear in news of several dead Russian generals.

Most eastern based Armies, basically all the ones based on the old Soviet model, do not really employ NCOs. I mean, they have Sergeants and stuff, but it mostly equates to higher pay, rather than leadership position and responsibility. In the Eastern style armies, if you aren't an officer, you don't really get any decision or say so on battle plans, and their lowest level of command is their Lieutenants. Enlisted are little more than cannon fodder and the officers aren't worth a lot more.

The biggest issue the Russians seem to be having now is their lack of secure comms. That is how their command staffs are being found and eliminated.
