Honestly, I'm not sure he has the mental facilities to make a decision and he will rely on his advisors to put forth an extreme liberal female POC.

You think Biden is making any actual decisions. That's funny.

Finding it ironic that shortly after the Supreme Court announced it'll be taking a new look at the affirmative action policies of a handful of large universities, that our President is reaffirming his commitment to using race as a qualifier for his pick for Justice Breyer's seat.

With the country more divided than ever and the political divide starkly showing racial disparities, now is the worst time to bring up a debate on racial discrimination, which is exactly what it is when you eliminate other qualified candidates on account of their ethnicity. Fuckin Joe.

“I’ve made no decision except one: The person I will nominate will be somebody of extraordinary qualifications, character and integrity,” he said. “And that person will be the first Black woman ever nominated to the United States Supreme Court. It is long overdue.”

Are you surprised by this though?

Look on the bright side, it might be the only campaign promise that he actually keeps.

I hope he nominates Stacy Abrams, because that would be the most Joe Biden thing for him to do. Unless he nominates Rachel Dolezal.

I'm not surprised, no, but damned frustrated. Whether it's a misguided thought to "heal the racial divide" or to help encourage black turnout, it's almost certainly going to bite him in the ass.

First and foremost, prioritizing one group over another just means there's a lot more people who were left behind. There's a great deal many more talking heads on the other side of the aisle who will with very littler effort, point out how hypocritical using as a qualification is. Go back a few decades when racial discrimination was much more common place and you'll see that the good ole boys club was practicing the same bigotry that the President is touting. Namely that on account of race, one candidate is more qualified or less deserving than another.

Secondly, the middle of the country damn near universally flocked to Trump for making them think they were left behind. Progress was labeled as white replacement, affordable care as death panels and gun control as making people vulnerable in the face of powerful, organized gangs. Those on the fence really need not need a reminder that some very vocal Democrats think that if you shove enough non-anglos in positions of authority will make the country a better place. It's a stupid policy that is divisive at best.

Lastly, for every voter who feels less marginalized due to the Supreme Court becoming more diverse, there's two who are going to be offended by the discriminatory policy and ten more who are wondering how losing the child tax credit will hurt their budget, or seeing their grocery bill going up as making it harder to feed their children as being far far more important.

Very few people are on the fence anymore. Joe has gone above and beyond to show what the Democrat party is and always has been about.

The only voters that will feel this way are voters that believe skin color decides how a person thinks.

I don't care if a black woman, asian man, hispanic transgender is on the bench....

I care that by making such a statement, it only continues the philosophical concept that there are differences in people.... and I firmly believe the only way to get past that concept as the human race... is to forgo any metric of skin color with regards to looking at qualifications of people for a position...

I know will never happen... but it should be the standard and ideal. If someone chooses based on race (regardless of whatever race it is... white, black, or otherwise), then they should be shamed and told to move along.

But people will just keep "race" an issue while going back and making people suffer for the sins of the father and not changing course.

    So fuck it... /shrug.

This is the issue that kills me with liberals. Just as gay marriage and abortions kills me with the conservatives.
