I don't know anyone outside of people in Illinois who had ever heard of Obama prior to his run. There are a ton of articles that speak to the fact that he as unknown by almost everyone prior to his run.

I think for the Republicans, it's clearly John McCain's nomination to lose.

For the Democrats though.. might be a little tougher. I think Hillary will try, but will have trouble being a Liberal female. I think Barack Obama has a chance but will be hurt by the ignorance of many because he is black.

You did call it in 2004 though.

But if you go through that thread, a lot of people were saying they don't know shit about him.

He was the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democrat Convention. He wasn't an unknown.

Just because some people here are ignorant doesn't mean we all are.

Does "relatively unknown" sound better to you? Most of America didn't have a damn clue who he was until he began campaigning.

Also, that thread is kinda funny reading over it well after the fact. They all thought McCain would absolutely destroy Obama because he was.. Well, unknown and unexperienced.

McCain had a big problem because Conservatives didn't like him... then he selected Palin who had her own baggage.

Obama, after he shut his wife up, ran on "hope and change" with no specifics and just a positive message.

Yeah, both parties have fallen victim to "lets add a woman to the ticket because woke" and gotten a turd VP candidate and turd VP out of it.

I mean, top two positions in the nation have been filled by shitbags for 20 years. This is the best we have in America?
