I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess you don't understand that some 60% of Americans own their homes and surprisingly enough, a few of them also live in states which also have income taxes and state sales tax. Would it surprise you to know that the combination of state income tax, property tax and/or sales taxes exceeds $10,000 dollars? "But but, the rich people," you shriek in an oddly high pitched, effeminate tone, while omitting the Senate was including a $400,000 income cap.

And you think the vast majority of home owners earn so much money that they owe so much in local and state taxes that they need MORE than 10k in deductions?

Or do you realize that the vast vast VAST majority of home owners don’t pay anywhere near 10k in state and local taxes?

It’s funny because something like 47% of people don’t make enough money to owe federal taxes yet Seran would have us believe 60% of Americans make so much money that they are paying more than 10k in state and local taxes alone.
