2) Iowa wasn't the first to allow gay marriage, either by court order (that was Massachusetts), by popular vote (tie between Maine, Maryland and Washington) or by legislature (Vermont).

3) Every single one of those states went for Democrats, against Trump, both in 2016 and in 2020.
